In my opinion the MTH whistle on the engine they did about a year ago is closest to the prototype's. Compare it with the sound in videos of the 611 excursions last summer.

I went on the 611 excursion in 2015 and this is pretty dead on compared to my video of 611 in VA

That is great! How did you wire it?

have you tried hooking up the fan unit to the ESU Decoder and tried the TRIGGER SMOKE CHUFF and/or Smoke Unit (Controlled by Sound) effects? im going to be trying that someday with an MTH engine, the only thing the mth engine will control is the heating unit

Rodimus, after looking at this video....would it be possible to pair / piggyback a smoke unit with a ESU (or other decoder with synced smoke) and retrofit into a locomotive (plastic or brass) that did not originally come with DCC? Say an older brass PFM, Bachmann, or Rivarossi??
@RodimusPrime5 жыл бұрын
Its been done, im closer to understanding but not quite there yet....upcoming video is going to be on some tests with a paragon 2 loco running a non bli decoder. Im not fully sure whats going to happen yet...we will see soon

@@RodimusPrime The Seuthe smoke generators put out steady smoke, whereas maybe a fan generated smoke unit would be the way to go

That is very cool. One thing, is the high pitch whine normal in both the model and the prototype?

At some point. More of a time and money thing. I had a recent paragon 3 failure so I need to make sure that wasnt a fluke.
