I really wish the interviewers would have pressed Marlene on the plot holes. She doesn't just get to explain away that error with Toby's age by saying they had to use young actors. The fans seem to recall more about her own show than she does. In one of the first scenes with Toby and Emily, he is standing outside (as a TEENAGER) telling Emily that it's been 2 years since his mom died. And, in order for that to be true, CeCe would have been in her early 20s when Marion died. Also, I've seen some comments where people think Wren was just guilty of falling for the wrong girl but that's not true. Actually, Wren was guilty of a LOT more and Marlene & Co. are forgetful and must think the fans are too! :( This finale did not explain Wren's involvement with CeCe other than how he found Alex for her. Think back to the time that Mona was in Radley. Wren was authorizing visitor's passes for CeCe, making shady phone calls to CeCe, manipulating Hana into visiting Mona and talking to the board to keep her at Radley, and manipulating Veronica into confronting Mona in Radley and, ultimately, getting Veronica thrown off of Ashley Marin's case. What was the connection between Wren and CeCe? It had to be more than Melissa asking him to help her visit Mona. I think Marlene messed up this timeline too. Last night, we found out that Charlotte met Alex via Wren when she fled to France in her Vivian Darkbloom disguise. Didn't Charlotte leave the country using Ali's fake passport that she gave her when the girls were at The Fitzgerald Theatre? (i.e. before Shanna died and before Ali finally returned to Rosewood) Well, Melissa and Wren were in London and together at this time. (Shana had packed up Wren's belongings.) Alex said that once she met Wren and Charlotte, the four of them (Wren, Alex, Charlotte, and Dunhill) spent every day together in Paris for a long time and were inseparable. How is this possible when he was still dating Melissa but Alex said he was free and clear of her and she was dating some composer?! The only times we've been aware of Wren and Melissa breaking up have been 1) when she caught him kissing Spencer; and 2) during the 5-year time jump when Melissa said Charlotte called Wren from Welby and told him things she shouldn't have (i.e. that she buried Bethany). The next time Marlene creates a show she should hire diehard fans to keep reminding her of the past storylines so there are no mistakes.

EmelieEllie but Dolphin517 is right, in the scene when Cece meets Alex in the airport it has to be between season 4 and 5 when Cece left as Vivian Darkbloom and Wren and Melissa were supposedly together then. In season 5 Spencer goes to London and stays were Wren and Melissa live, Cece returns and then it's the dollhouse and her A reveal in season 6A she stays as a patient under the care of Archer Dunhill her lover. In between. those 5 years that passed before 6B Hanna sees Melissa and that's when she claims Wren and her broke up. So it was implied before that Wren and Melissa would have been together for several years without counting the first time they dated but with the Alex storyline that makes no sense at all, unless Melissa was involved in some way, that Wren had cheated her all the time with Alex and she didn't notice or that they were never together and she lied about it.

So actually she could of just incorporate the twin theory from the beginning though of course not giving away who it actually was. But I still enjoyed it.

But Marlene already had incorporated twins with Mary and Jessica....another set, especially as AD, really reads as lazy and repetitive; especially when there were so many other clues and storylines and characters fans knew who had been developed and were ripe for the picking as way more credible AD's. I mean you can't start the show off as a group mystery and then make the ultimate mystery reveal have absolutely nothing to do with them. The problem with the Twincer = Alex Drake reveal is that you could literally strip away every other one of the PLL's finale story-arcs and the ending wouldn't change. If the heart of the show is a group of friends, its unbalanced writing that the resolution has something to do only with an individual. It was a poor choice with all of the other potential set-up from season 1 - 7 to make this the grand finale.

the reasons the first 4 seasons were successful, was because, the A reveals were realistic, they were all main characters, and that what needed to happen, not dragging things on for years then creating a new character for the final episode just to fill plot holes, the way I see it the writers came up with Alex Drake literally when shooting for the final episode was days away, it's like doing your report 11 pm and it's due 12 am, you create bullsh!t. The fans were watching this show for 7 years, the least they could do was reveal that A was a known character.

When they asked Marlene about why Alex wasn't mad at Mona, her answer didn't make sense. The game ended because Alex found out that Mona killed Charlotte, so yes Alex did know. After she found out she wasn't upset with Mona, and I think that's what the interviewer was trying to ask about.

Alex knew how powerful Mona was and having her on her side was better than to have Mona dead. Also I think A.D somehow connected with Mona I mean they're both crazy 😂 If it would have been one of the girls that killed Cece I don't think Alex would have been very understanding and she probably would have killed whoever killed Cece.. But as I said Mona was better alive and Alex could take advantage of the fact that Mona is crazy and wants to win the game. What Alex probably didn't realized was that although Mona is crazy and would do anything to win the game, her loyalty towards Hanna and her longing to be a part off the girls are strong. So yeah, it would have been better if Alex actually would have killed Mona since she wasn't loyal to Alex in the end and locked her up 😂

Alex Davidovich I totally thought the same thing. That's why I hoped Melissa was AD because it could tie back in from the very pilot and there was no need to go back to scenes previously filmed to explain where she was like Twincer Alex. If you rewatch any season, you'll see Melissa being shady and ordering ppl around (Jenna and Shana) or being involved in the major plots like the fire at the lake house or the Halloween Train or Bethany's death. She was a friend of Cece's and could've blamed the girls for Ian's death which made her a (Black) widow aka Lady in Black which was supposed to be endgame according to Marlene. They could've wrote the last two seasons to develop her motive but all they did was make her look shady as a red herring which was my biggest disappointment because she really could've been the A that overarched the series. Also, the AD could've stood for the Latin for Devil's Advocate which would've tied back into the family's law theme and explain why the main objective of AD was to drive the girls apart (which now that I think of it...Why would Alex want to drive them apart when all she wanted was to be part of their group? if she succeeded, there would be nothing to join once she became Spencer...). Anyhow, I hope someone reads this and agrees that Melissa would've made the best AD

eddie hated wren because wren did let charlotte out of radley and bethany could escape to. And he did more like that stuff, He was helping some patients which Eddie didn't like and was like this is not how it has supossed to be. Eddie was more off the rules, although he did build sortoff a friendship with Spencer and was almost don't listening to the rules. so thats why he left town. And i guess why Eddie knew aria is because she was once visiting Spencer before her volunteering so he probaly knew her because of that time. or spencer has told about her friend aria or something. Marlene also give an answer about the lucas and jenna thing in the beginning. it was all in Mona's snowbowl and just for fun, nothing special. Lucas is just a nerd of comics he just really liked comics, and he had made 2 comics with charlotte , charles at that moment, and it was all about the endgame, and the second wasn't finished. so i guess charlotte told about the comics to like she told about everything and did share her plans. but lucas didn't had more to do with it. although he sometimes really looked shady but he was also treathened by A.D. ( and by Mona in the beginning,like she used him).Noel and sara's involvement weren't that clear for me to. although sara was redcoat and blackwidow (which i rather wanted be someone else) and why she was making a hole in her hotelroom was because she thought she find money, but it was all about a file where A.D. used her for. (the file of mary drake). But why she got killed ( maybe she knew to much idon't know) and was sharing with jenna i dont know i guess because jenna was part of the A.D team because A.D was paying for her eye operation. and jenna wanted to figure out who A.D. was thats why she also did had noel work for her because he was her eyes (they once where in a relationship) and where noel got killed, i think jenna had a task to kill spencer or at least treathened her and the liars and get them in that place, so A.D could kill spencer ( as revenge or to take her place) . But yeah the whole why was noel in the dollhouse, 'helping' Cece thing and i guess same for jenna (although i thought she was friends with cece and always hated the liars) but mostly why was sara helping, because of money ? or because of she didn't want to go back to her old live or she had mental issues to and how did she know cece ( if this is answered correct me because i can't remember almost everything about sara). But you still have some of your answers in here. (which are most of them or all of them are given in the serie)

Jen M. Tremmor they did genetic testing during one of the episodes and confirmed it was Emily's when Allison was pregnant. Also, identical twins aren't genetic only fraternal... but whatever I'm glad to have some resolve

"Why was Ali so afraid of Noel Kahn?" -She wasn't at first, because she was working with him. Not sure if she started to fear him later though. "Why did Ali drug the girls that first night in the barn? So she could meet up with Ian?" -Equal parts meeting with Ian, and also ruling the girls out as "A". There was an episode where she explained that she knew if she got an "A" message when they were knocked out she'd know it wasn't one of them. "Why did CeCe hit Alison on the head with the rock that first episode? Wasn't Mona A then...." -Yep, Mona was "A" then, but CeCe had her own little plot going. She thought that Alison was Bethany Young from behind, and she knew that Bethany hated her mother (because Jessica was having an affair with Bethany's dad) and was afraid Bethany was going to kill again (Bethany killed Toby's mom, so CeCe knew how dangerous she was). 'Why did Jessica DiLaurentes bury her own daughter to save her niece? Why wouldn't she want CeCe to rot in jail for that?" -CeCe may not have been her biological child, but Charles/CeCe was her child nonetheless. Adopted children are still children and she'd already lost one daughter and couldn't bear the thought of losing another. "What motivated Mary to kill Jessica when she did?" -Not sure about the timing, but I do remember something about Mary Drake saying Jessica planned to poison her with Peter Hastings pills and so Mary stole those pills and killed Jessica instead. "In the scenes where Spencer is in London visiting Melissa, is that Alex?" -Nope, that was Spencer. Veronica forced her to leave the country because she was afraid the police were building a case to get all the Liars sent to prison. Another reason we know it was definitely Spencer is because when she was on her interview at the college that blood "A" stashed in her luggage soaked out of her bag and on to the floor. "What was the NAT club (where they meet in Alison's room)?" -I can't remember the exact Latin name they used for the initials of the club, but it meant "We See All" which was basically just a way of saying "creepy pervs recording stuff". "Was Jenna good? Or just trying to see? And not against the girls per say. Didn't she force Toby to have sex with her?" -She was definitely a neutral evil. She did just want her sight back, but she did some really shifty things. "What did Wilden know about the game? Was he just sleazy on his own?" -Not sure, especially given he is the one (according to Mona) who put Aria in the box on the Halloween train and killed Garrett. He was definitely sleazy. If it helps answer any questions...he's the cop Jessica bribed to take CeCe back to Radley after Ali was dead and buried. "Didn't you miss Tanner in 7/20? A sibling that they never knew about makes less sense than a girl they physically injured so badly she lost her sight or a girl they bullied and teased to the point she was all alone and emotionally wrecked by them which lead to servers mental illness which she was institutionalised for already, as well have already done some pretty heinous stuff because of the main 5 girls. So yes you are right, there is no one that should ever get to this point of tormenting and torturing others, my point was just that an established character with more substantial and concrete motive would have made more sense and been a more satisfying ending to the series.

I started watching pll when I was only 12 now I'm 18 it was so hard to see this amazing show end honestly pretty little liars has helped me with so much it always has been and always will be my favourite show so happy with the ending

Yea.....that's my question....why wasn't Alison part of the damn BIG -AD reveal.....I mean the story IS based off of her...I think it should've been Bethany who was -AD because she was jealous of Alison and her life.....so she used Mona and others who Alison bullied and manipulated to torture her and her friends.

Marlene, was this show ever about unconditional friendship? Alison used, bullied and abused her friends for years. Aria threw them all under the bus time and time again for Ezra. When she is confronted with her best friend's twin, she doesn't even react to that or ask if she is okay. The first thing she does is run over to Ezra. (I despise Ezria with all my heart!)

pll overall was amazing because of the actors. The writers were garbage. So much plotholes and you had to come out at the end of the show just to explain shit which is just as bad

PLL was my favorite show but it just stopped adding up Aria should’ve been A. The only good A we got was Mona! The twin thing made no sense and there were so many things that had never been answered what were these writers thinking
