Exactly my question im designing g+3 residential building... In zone 2 region .... Im designing it only for gravity loading ... Confused wether I should go with ordinary or non sway framing type

What will happen if we design the column for sway condition ...will it collapse after we construct

In that case I'll suggest to kindly refer any RCC design book and the Code IS456 first for Column. Once you know the manual design of column, your doubt will cleared totally. As a hint, if you get Effective length factor for sway condition which is very high or tends to infinity it means that your frame is unstable and you need to cross check the analytical model.
