Linux performance for Battlemage is still lacking behind Windows. It's not about a few frames but the performance is quite a bit worse. We will need to wait a bit and see if drivers help with it but currently it would unfortunately not be worth it. It's quite sad since the B580 is incredible for it's price and it would be awesome for budget HTPC builds

The 5600+4060 combo seems to be the go to SFF build right now. I’m grateful to the developers and manufacturers of the new products that finally allow those of us with no interest in giant computers to have a decent computer. P.S. in 2025 I’d love to see a clean looking smart tv emulation sff or mini pc and an emulator rom/video backup nas.

Love the 5600X. Great performance, reasonable TDP and incredibly easy to cool. For PCs this size it's the perfect CPU imo

Yeah EU prices usually do. Since muricans forget most of the world have taxes on the price tag, instead of at the time of purchase, so mostly everything will be at least 15-20% more on price tag in EU. Often even more, because retailers for odd reason treat $1 = 1€ 🤯🤯🤯

I picked up some ITX parts on ebay used to build a mini Bazzite PC for gaming only. Going to set it up in my TV room to keep the kids off of my PC. The case was only $25 on black Friday sale. Now, it doesn't have a pretty window and a bunch of lights but I am almost 50 and WAY past my RGB phase.

What this build needs is a USB C low profile slot adapter that takes your front panel header USB C and runs it to the back slot - In this instance it would be the position one bracket above the GPU - Just so you don't waste the full functionality of your motherboard. Shame most of these nice simple little cases don't just have USB C.

Slightly used but also Mini ATX and a Ryzen 5600x-MoBo combo. Take a used RX 6600/XT or a B 580 instead and your also below 600 €.

AM4 B550's motherboards are awesome. I am using ASRock B550M PG motherboard paired with AMD Ryzen 9 5900x and I have got a minisforum mini pc with AMD Ryzen 7 5700G and no issues at all.

Why wouldn't you use a desktop with a 3D V-Cache chip like a 5800X3D or a 7800X3D? Would those motherboards that support those CPUs be too large? Other than proof of concept, at this point, is there any reason to force yourself into a SFF PC, or just get a slightly larger case that can just have all the options available?

Some of my 4k streams, like Peacock & Amazon, look great, while others, don't. I'm rock'n an LG C3 & newish Fire TV Stick. Hey @ETA PRIME ! Do you have a *suggestion for a slightly bigger case* that could fit a normal size RX 6600XT or maybe RX 6800 16 GB? I did a similar combo like 2 years ago with used parts (Gigabyte miniATX, 5600x) but I also went with a used RX 5700 XT. Since I didn't find a small case to fit I went with a retro midi case from 2000's .... but for my living room I kinda still looking for a small case that could fit mini ATX and a normal size GPU. 2 years ago the prices in Germany were similar on the used market: MoBo + 5600X like 130 bucks new deepcool cooler 30 bucks RX 5700 XT 130 bucks case and PSU was left over SATA SSDs ... left over NVme SSD 2TB Crucial like 85 bucks on a black friday deal.
