The page that's glued differently and doesn't lay flat helps to keep the book together. Best to leave that page alone. I learned this the hard way, but was able to glue it back in place. I have the Perfect Sketchbook and love it. I'm anxious to hear what you think of the lighter weight after using all 3 sizes. Thanks for the unboxing, lively commentary and pretty sketch.

Me too on that first glued sheet! wrecked a cheaper sketchbook only takes one before you realize leave first page alone lol! I am envious you have a perfect sketchbook! I always miss out. How does it rate against these standard ones? Is it worth the bigger price tag?

@@ShamelesslyCreative Painting on 140 lb (300 gsm) cotton is a dream. The paper has very little buckling and I use lots of layers. It holds up. I've only had cellulose sketchbooks, so compared to those it's wonderful. My only complaint is you have to buy 3 at a time. I gave one as a gift and kept 2. They are pricey, but I don't go through sketchbooks as fast as you might.

@@deeanncross7674 It is always nice to hear what people think. I am liking this series Miranda is showing but your Perfect sketchbook that does sound dreamy! I am learning to appreciate better paper! I had the cellulose sketchbooks and my paintings were difficult in cotton they are just so nice. And yes 3 books at a time is a lot and hard for most people to do so much easier to order one at a time! at least etchr regular series is available on amazon now maybe they will have the perfect sketchbook on there someday too.

Yay, my Etchr package curiosity is sated! 😆 LOL I always struggle to get boxes open! Those postcards look great, I was contemplating getting these, and there so many of them! I hope you enjoy the sketchbooks - I really love mine! Their cold press paper takes loads of water and paint without causing "tide lines", and I think the books are well worth it, even though they are expensive. I'm thinking about getting Etchr's new pen sets when they are released soon. So many things to covet, haha! That's a super cute pencil case btw. Lovely scenery, it looks so rustic. Your paintings are great, I love the trees!! ❤

Thanks, Becky! Maybe I'll try the postcards today, as well as more in the sketchbooks. I'm glad for your glowing recommendation, because I was a little worried about the paper after something I tried yesterday (watch this Friday's video, it'll be in there), so hopefully that was just a fluke. I'll find out today because I'm doing more experimenting here in a few minutes! I was considering the liner and brush pen set, but I haven't decided yet. I guess they're available as of Sept. 1st. Maybe I'll see how you like them before I decide, lol.

Don't know if you will see this but have you seen the miya water colour travel kit? It's a travel palette of paints, some sheets of nice paper, a water brush and a capsule that you can put your palette in. It comes in loads of colours, (the capsule) with a silver top. I ordered from amazon £17 then £7 tax and fees as its from the USA I'm in UK. Its gorgeous!!!

Nice etchr haul! That was the set of sketchbooks I purchased at Christmas last year. So I could figure out what size I liked the most before I purchase 3 of same size. I used the small one for watercolor month!( but two bigger ones are more precious.) I really do like it working as well as the paul ruben sketchbook. So far those are my two favs for watercolor...but still need to test last art haul sketchbooks..My etchr video should be up today as well..lol. Your vacations look so fun. We really havent gone anywhere.. makes me feel like summer didnt happen. Hoping to squeeze a fall outdoor bike ride in yet. Look forward to your review of the etchr watercolors too.Also cant wait for your dot swatch!!

@@MirandaWatsonArt I live where it will be snow and cold soon and as I said I so do not feel like I had spring or summer...mostly recovery...so we did not travel at all this year and your travels make me miss the lake and woods!! Pontoons and even road trips! mostly the lazy lake and pontoon days! But you also made me realize creating on the go seems a little problematic lol! You are a stitch!

I like the white canvas cover Etchr WC journals. I got the bundle of 3 as well. Not perfect, but the paper is decent for journal work. I’d like to try their pricier versions. I also have their ridiculously overpriced round porcelain mini palette with the 37 wells. I wish I’d gotten the one with 18 wells instead...

Miranda Watson - Alkali Creek Art they are small, but certainly workable...and very portable. Maybe not good for people who work on large pieces,but I never really go bigger than around 8x10. They are also very well made. It’s a shame they are so expensive.

Ugh, yeah, I sent Becky a package (she also lives in Australia) months ago, and she still hasn't received it. Granted, it's coming from the US, but still. I thought Etchr was based in Australia, so it's very interesting that you haven't heard of the company before. I could be wrong, though. It's so fun to get packages! Now, I need to use some things up so I can make room, lol. Can't wait to get into REALLY using the sketchbooks. I get to do some of that today, yay!
