Today, we take you on a mesmerizing journey into a small village where a house, once full of life, now stands as a silent witness to a bygone era. Welcome to the Cardoso house-a place frozen in time, holding onto the echoes of laughter and love from decades past.
Once the vibrant home of Maria and Adolfo and their four children-João, Pedro, Ana, and Sofia-this house was filled with the joyful sounds of family life and the playful barks of their beloved dogs, Tico and Pumba, but as the children grew up and ventured into the world, the bustling home began to quiet down.
In early 2005, tragedy struck. Maria passed away in January, and just a month later, Adolfo followed her. The loss of their parents left the siblings heartbroken and scattered, unable to keep the home alive. Over time, the house fell into disrepair, its bright past giving way to a sad present.
Join us as we step into this time capsule, where every room remains untouched since the last days of Adolfo and Maria. From family photos to old cars in the garage, everything is just as it was 20 years ago. We’ll explore the crumbling walls and the stories they hold, revealing a home where time stands still.

I just LOVE how you guys take such care in presenting these places and those that once lived in them. This couple had such LOVE for one another, that's why they passed within a few weeks of each other. The "Wedding Vows" declare that - "THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE." They don't just say that.

Love to watch your tours of all these homes but sometimes it makes me rather sad to see them just decaying and falling apart. Some of the items left are so beautiful and could still be useful to someone. So sad that the families left don't care to save a lot of these treasures.

Love your videos with more detail. I have my KZbin on everyday on your channel. 70 yrs old and it's grand to see these places and stories I will never see. Never been wealthy but these places are beautiful. I'm an antique lover all my life. Keep up the good work. I'm up 1:30 a.m. and don't go to bed before 11pm. So I constantly watching instead of housework.

I found this exploration so heart warming. The house did seem to have the spirit of both of them. I am sure that the children just didn't come back because of the grief of the loss of both parents. Sometimes you just have to let things go. The memories are what everyone should cherish. I was amazed that there was only one tv. That was pretty good. Just spending time outside instead.

Hey dear Lesley, this is again such a wonderful and awesome explore, you were doing together with Danny. Again I loved his exceptional camerawork and these special conversations you have with him. Lovely to see you both at the beginning of the video. - I agree, that the presence of the former owners is still around in the surprisingly intact rooms of this house. I also loved seeing the beautiful living room with the beautiful furniture and the dining room with the cabinets, filled with glasses and chinaware. - And - wow, the room with that amazing "view" because of the whole wall, which had once fallen out. The beautiful grand chandelier is so incredible to see in that intact state. - Although there are a lot of traces of heavy decay visible, it is absolutely amazing to see, that the interior is still so intact! Wonderful! I also love to see the great respect how you approach the life of the former owners, and your appreciation and enthousiasm is from the highest possible caliber! Lesley and Danny you are just simply the best! - I got deeply touched, when you placed the photograph with the old lady on that decorative oven with the peacock feathers vase. - Simply outstanding! Hi guys, love watching your channel all the way from New Zealand. This is so bittersweet. Why did not one of the kids go back to the house. Regardless of where you are in the world. Everyone says a house of love yet nobody knows for sure. Back in 2005 the house and belongings would have been worth a small fortune not mentioning the sentimental value, very intriguing.

12:40 York in England has a lot of Tudor style buildings (and some of them are actually true Tudor!). Highly recommend you visit, if you get the chance. There are also a lot of abandoned buildings in Yorkshire, so it could be a working holiday! :D
