After watching Marvel's The Eternals post-credits scene with Starfox, you might be wondering if Thanos is an Eternal. In fact, when you look at the whole of the MCU and Thanos's plan to snap away half of all life, you start to see that he was actually trying to stop the celestials from emerging from across the universe.

Hey Paul, 1 thing is there that in the previous video you had said that Eternals are space robots including the big three according to Sam Wilson so that makes Thanos also a space robot but Thanos was snapped out but Eternals weren't (atleast we were not addressed about this).... So if Thanos a space robot can be snapped means Eternals can be too??

No it was amazing and it was just too layered and nuanced for the casuals. Some people just go to see mcu movies for the same structure that most of the first 3 phases have. For us who really enjoy the depths of these characters, even if you don’t know characters like the eternals fully, this the exact kind of movie I was hoping from Chloe Zhao even if I didn’t expect them to tell such a deep story. I should know by now that the mcu is succeeding for a reason and that’s because it continues to evolve not remain stagnant

They may need to go back to that point in time towards the beginning of Endgame in order to have help to defeat the potenial upcoming Cosmic threats: Mephisto, Dormammu, Galactus, Knull, Nightmare, Celestials, Kang, Molecule Man, etc. Who knows, but it wouldn't be bad if they found a way for him to return. The only way I would be okay with him not returning is bringing Josh Brolin as Cable into the MCU with Deadpool and Domino, and the other X Men.

I thought it was stated/implied that Celestials aren't born that often, like within Thanos' 1000 years of living, 2 Celestials being born seems weird, especially considering how advanced his people were and how Titan's downfall was probably like 30-50 years ago, would put both their projected births very close to each other. Also T'chala Star Lord's Earth is about to get fucked up as no snap means no "Inspiring Miracle" means no Ajak betraying the Celestials... means Tiamut should be hatching soon.

I don't know if it was actually growing, in fact, there's a high possiblity that it wasn't even supposed to "open" at that moment. Question- Would the Celestials be immune to the Snap. Specifically this way- the Snap erased half of ALL LIFE in the universe do Celestials count as Life, and if so would the snap have counted them in the Snap at random? Or did the Celestials come FIRST and the Infinity Stones came AFTER THEM and thus they are immune?
@artofmartialcinemaamc5334
@artofmartialcinemaamc5334 2 жыл бұрын
I am more so inclined to be in line with the last part, they Celestials came before the stones, just like many other Cosmic Entities, so yeah they'd be immune to it, but taking away half of life would definitely slow down their population process across the Galaxy/universe. A lot of people say "but even in Loki, the TVA says that the Endgame events were *supposed to happen",* and I think that is "true" to the extent of "according to WHO?" Kang the Conqueror, who led the TVA and the main cause of the Timelines Branching off was due to the events of Endgame, the only reason why Loki was able to escape with the Tesseract from 2012, causing the 1st real branch in the timeline, but that was all according to plan by Kang so he could start the Multiverse War and relieve himself of the stress of leading the TVA in his current life, but he'll be able to also relive all of his past iterations, only to end up right back in that chair at the End of Time because, well, "he's inevitable." 😆 It's all speculation, but I can't wait to see where the MCU goes with this. All I know is, nothing is really what it seems so I always like to think outside the box because sometimes the theories turn out to be true, others not. It's all fun and games to me.

If your speculation about Thanos knowledge is right, maybe when he was remove from existance half of population of each species it also (should) applay to celestial. Which mean, even if earth or other planets rebuild population and celestial woke up => end in Big War with them. They number would be drastically reduce by half, so universe have chance to win. Also stones was done by them (celestial), so they could make some protection/restriction about use them in directly way agains creators - the way Thanos use them was only option to bypass restriction.
@valentai_777

My simple guess for the Titans is that they’re simply a population of Eternals that rebelled from the Celestials and collected themselves on Titan. And from there they discovered they could breed and their population went up (this is a bit of a hole in the theory since Eternals can’t breed that much so I’m not sure how population growth would be a rising problem) It’s possible that they refrained from traveling too much so as to stay out of the notice of the Celestials too much, which is why they didn’t notify other Eternals of their haven. That is until their planet collapsed anyways, maybe bc of some civil war, maybe a Celestial finally found them, maybe Thanos attacked. Even though he is no liar, end of the day, dudes a straight up villain and he maybe refrained from telling the Avengers and his order everything so as to serve his one goals. Admittedly something like that would be a bit of a cop out, but it really isn’t unrealistic to assume.

I think the Celestials would have to be universal architects in order to plant the Celestial seed into the planets. These planets would require that they be hospitable to intelligent life since the growing Celestial requires the psychic energy of the beings of the planet in order to grow. In order for a planet to be habitable to life it must exist within the solar system's life zone. Assuming that most of the planetary beings would be carbon-based, a good assumption I think, this would require a planet with water in all three phases as a minimum. Relying on random chance for this to happen would be very inefficient. It makes more sense that the Celestials would specifically design planets that would harbor intelligent life in order to propagate their species efficiently. There is a point here that hasn't been addressed but is quite interesting. If in fact the Celestials did create the universe, and as I have already posted in a different vid, this means our universe is an artificial construct, a nursery basically for Celestial babies, then the Celestials are actually from an entirely different universe. A universe that probably exists on a higher plane than our own. I am thinking that they are the architects of the multiverse, and they created these multiverses in order to have nurseries for their species. That would mean that the multiverse actually predtaes all of the shenanigans we have in seen in the MCU to date. It also lends credance to my idea that the Celestials actually put the rules of the multiverse into our Universe as a way to keep the number of possible nursery universe growing. This sheds a whole different light on Kang and why the reasons he was trying to keep the exponential growth of the multiverse in check. He mentioned a multiversal war, but we know Kang was a liar, so the whole reason may have not been just a multiversal war, that probably did happen, but an attempt to limit the growth of possible nurseries. If Thanos was trying to limit the effects of the Celstials in our universe, Kang may have been trying to do something similar. Of course the opposite may be true. A multiversal war may be an efficient means to limit the growth of nursery universes by simply destroying them, like Thanos and his snap, and Kang was actively working to create stable nursery universes for the Celestials. This whole idea really opens so many possibilities.

The celestials were created by the first firmament who was the sentience of the first universe. The celestials live outside of reality in hyperspace. Also galactus is younger than some of the celestials because he came from the destruction of the 6th universe when galan merged with the 6th version of eternity. If anything the eternals movie would be retconning galatus. Since he as the balance. It would mean that galactus keeps the celestials population in check by consuming their eggs. Airshem already states in the movie that in order for life to grow, their must be death. Its an endless cycle. Because they would've seen alot of destruction and rebirth in their billions of years.

I have to say, with the inclusion of Venom having the ability to come into the MCU, it would be amazing if Marvel introduced Knull as another Evil Cosmic threat. That would allow Marvel to tie the Necro Sword to the Symbiotes, and by doing so, it would tie things quite nicely with Gorr the God Butcher who we already know is going to be the Big Bad in Thor Love and Thunder.

The theory makes no sense..... Thanos did not know of the emergence. And all the snap would do was speed up the birthing process of the celestials. Thanos plan was to stop hunger and wars. The celestials wouldn't be affected by the stones. Also if he had tried to destroy all life in the universe then he would've come in conflict with the living tribunal and the one above all. That's why ultron from what if didn't make alot of sense. Because he would've affected the grand design and thus would've had to face off against the real cosmic powers like the living tribunal etc

Yes, he goes rogue when his planet Titan dies though, despite him trying to warn them about population growth = death. I don't think he knows of the Celestial reproduction though nor that his team of Eternals were created for protecting Titan. I don't think his program figured out who or what he is... this explains how he doesn't go out and hunt down Celestials after stopping their rebirth, he instead starts a farm at the beginning of Endgame. Completely oblivious of any threat reemerging, because he is ignorant of their design.
@markmatson
@markmatson 20 күн бұрын
I think this is only sorta correct. I believe Thanos tried to save Titan from the emergence by killing half the population. He failed. Then something or someone deleted his memory of emergences, probably to protect the Celestials. But he remembers everything else! So his brain rewrote what happened, filling in the blanks. He really is insane, but only because of how his brain dealt with the trauma and partially wiped memory. But it was always obvious he was telling the truth of his motivation. I don't really get theories that deny that.

Thanos was so determined to stop the Celestials from being born that he even made sure to wipe out half the population in Thor's asgardian refugee ship at the start of Infinity War, just in case an Emergence was going to occur inside that ship too. Seriously guys we know exactly what Thanos's motivation was and it had nothing to do with Celestials. Otherwise he would have snapped the Celestials away, not all sentient life.

the way you kept showing scenes from Thor sparked a thought. were the Asgardians (or at least the royals) descendants of Eternals? It would sure fit many of their god-like-and-yet-not abilities like Thor's lightning or Hela's infinite blades; which would definitely fit the cosmic powers imbued in Eternals as shown in the film.

Well, as Eternals reveals, when Thanos snapped his finger and wiped out half of all life in the universe, that set back the Celestials plans. it only ser them back a couple of decades. a century at most. and in the lifespan of a celestial or eternal, thats *nothing*. that's a trip to the market and a cup of coffee. "saved" the Earth? i fail to see how slightly delaying the inevitable is saving you. also the idea that thanos would even disagree with the Celestials is I think absurd. their plan is to sacrifice a couple of planets so that they can create countless more, and seed new life. thats exactly the kind of "kill the few to help the many" mindset that thanos would love.

More likely than being an Eternal, I think Thanos is a Deviant (like Crow) who absorbed all of the Eternals on Titan, except Eros his "brother." By absorbing all of the Eternals, he somehow triggered a Unimind event, making himself mortal like what happened to Sprite. Now he is on a rampage across galaxies to stop Celestials from opening planets. Ego was "formed" when Thanos ripped the Celestial seed out of Titan in his Unimind power, messing up the planet, and giving Thanos the desire that nobody should have that much power: making himself mortal, and then the desire to destroy the Infinity Stones later.

except nothing abotu his plan "stops" anythign. it only would slightly delay it. also with all inifnity stones he should have been able to pick and choose which planets had celestial eggs on them and only halve them. but he didnt. and he also only would slightly delay the celestials, not stop them. the population would recover within a century or so and then die anyway.

I think IF they had been planning this all from the beginning it would make so much more sense. Too much of this requires retconning and convoluted connections being made to reexplain something. If only they had been plaining to include the Celestials and Eternals then they could have scattered the Easter eggs more seamlessly. Who Ego was and Thanos's motivation.

Ajak to Ikarus in Celestials final trailer: “The sudden return of the population provided the necessary energy for the emergence to begin…” What if the growth of the Celestial is tied not only to the population, but to the progress of civilization and technology of the planet’s sentient life? So the embryo grows slowly at first, but accelerates rapidly towards the end, as has the technology-proficient population? The 69 years to repopulate might set the embryo back so much that it can never be born. That’s why Professor Hulk’s snap jump-started the emergence. Otherwise, why didn’t Tiamut’s birth take place 6 months before Thanos’s snap?

Titans left earth before those on on earth gained said power, so Titans we're still able to breed. Eternal left on earth could still breed as seen with Thea and the deviant Kro, but chose not.
