Beautiful that the kid’s parents are exposing him to such a compassionate non-dual teacher. And the kid is extremely bright, loved his responses.

I know time is not real as such. But even as I sit in the present, perfectly still, I have this sensation of moving forward. Like this motion, or flow.. It's not the same as psychological time, but just a movement - hard to explain...

Excellent responses. Ii would have liked to meet a teacher at that age, i had an insight at 5 where i suddenly realized oh, where ever i am everything appears, I'm the source of it, i don't know how i come to this but it obviously led to the next question, then who am I. Probably everyone starts their search with some childhood event. When i met Ramesh Balsekar in the mid 90s he was also of this opinion.

All you are doing is imposing conditions on the truth. The truth is the truth because it is true - not because it matches up with some arbitrary conditions, and especially not because it matches what some fallible human being said.
@michaelmcclure33837 жыл бұрын
Truth, in the way they said it was same as 'teaching'. So the teaching should be simple enough for a child to understand it, i don't think its a big call, Rupert is demonstrating it in this video... and plenty of kids are open to truth, I was an example myself.. But I'm not up for debating this with some youtube person. So go find someone to debate your merely intellectual understanding elsewhere.

It’s so simple. “Now” is eternity. If we put our minds into “the moment” We are eternal. 😊 The past and the future are just concepts!

As Darryl Anka put it (paraphrasing a bit here): "What existence does, is exist. It just is. Time is subject to existence; existence is not subject to time." I interpret that as a way of allowing for the universe to be eternal, or perhaps more accurately - "uncreated", or maybe that there never was a state/time in which existence did not exist, because all existence really actually does is none other than that - to exist. The universe, or whatever it was at the singularity - the big bang is to me more the start of manifestation rather than the start of existence - didn't 'begin' because beginning is a function of time, while time is subject to existence, or "is-ness". Makes sense in a way, though it's still hard for the mind to really grasp. So we have 13.7 billion years of the unfolding of existence in time (manifestation, as the universe expands, or 'unfolds') but at the singularity starting point it's just timeless existence that had never NOT been, and can at no point ever cease to be (even if the universe were to crunch back down to a singularity again. It would still exist, but it would be completely unmanifest and time wouldn't apply).

Great question, great answer! Unfortunately, the dualistic mind is not designed to understand or make sense of non-dualistic truth - it can only be realized through intuition, which is devoid of concepts. The best we can do is point toward truth. The pointers that help me: Eternity is the river bank and time is the river. Or: Eternity is the clockface and time is the ever-moving clock hands. Or: Time is the actors and scenery, eternity is the stage. Or: Eternity does not move through time, time moves through eternity. And: Time is ever-moving, eternity is ever-still.

Wonderful comment and I do see real value in the pointers you shared. Thank you. But isn't Rupert saying that great teachers before him, himself to some extent, and every person can use their minds to get glimpses at this non-dualistic truth? There seems to be some contradictory statements made. Sometimes I here that the mind can not understand this. Other times, that understanding is what is being taught. If the mind can not understand it, how was it figured out in the first place so that it could be taught?

And just developed my imagination 😂 and now I'm able to see with my "inner eyes" what is true, real and what is just taught to us by our parents and society, what we believed to be true without asking any questions, without doubting its being real. There is a past that I can recall. I recall existing in the past ,There is a future that I can imagine. I can anticipate existing in the very near future, without uncertainty. I see things change with time. The seasons. Is it that all of that is of the mind, and I am not the mind? The only time that I am, without the mind is now and to be the 'true self' the mind's role is resting in peace?

Hi, Even Einstein wud agree with Rupert! Einstein said Time is RELATIVE to Movement, ie: Time depends on movement to exist: If we isolate an object and that object absolutely does not move (meaning not even its atoms move), time cannot possibly take place in/for that object. It will remain the same object forever. "Entities" such as Awareness, Will, Attention or Agape do not move in space so they cannot be affected by time. They are therefore indestructible and eternal "entities." Best wishes.

photons have no time...there and there at the same time...so that star or galaxy at a earlier time? billions of years ago...the photon then...billions of years ago is there and now here at the same time...no time really and I think it is the now or eternity for that reason. I have always struggled with the now in the sense of what has just been said but recently realised that that photon there and there in the past so to speak and here now billions of years later must mean this now is actually eternity

This universe is a big lie that consciousness tells itself. You are pure consciousness and misinterpreting and misperceiving and mis-experiencing yourself as subject and objects dualities. You as a separate self and what you see and experience as real are nothing but your own misinterpretations of your true self.

"In order to know that something exists, we have to be able to experience it." Isn't that just empirically false? To truly KNOW something, yes, we must experience it, but do know something EXISTS, we don't have to experience it. I know my small intestine exists and digests my food, but I do not experience it. A blind person would be well aware that seeing exists, but they will never experience it. Obviously, in order to KNOW seeing, the blind person would need to be given sight, but to know that sight "exists," the blind person does not need to see. So although we are eternally in the present (we exist in just one dimension of time, and it's moving forward) this does not imply that the past and the present don't exist. Imagine a being that lives in a higher dimension than us, maybe in two dimensions of time, and 4 spacial dimensions. In the same way that I walk forward and move in space, they, perhaps, could move forward and backwards in time. I am eternally grateful to Rupert for waking me up, in very simple terms, to my true Self as Awareness experiencing this body/mind and world. However, after this realization, going solely based off experience seems limiting because then it removes us from pondering what the ultimate Truth could be. There is nothing in my experience that doesn't also point to the cosmos being a sort of advanced MMO game, with the body being the character and the mind the interface. Rupert states that, because awareness isn't personal, it means that we are all the same awareness. Okay, that could be the case, but it might not be. This is a burden of proof fallacy. It can not be disproved or proven. Advaita and Hinduism did not come to be when we had video games, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, etc. I would love for that to be the case (our shared being), but following similar logic, there is no evidence to suggest this isn't some sort of futuristic video game. If that were the case, our Awareness isn't personal to our body/minds, but it IS personal to the Awareness that is playing the game. Therefore, it could be 7 billion different, 4th dimensional awarenesses, playing a game of limitation.
