Hey DeLegge!, I hope you had a great Turkey🦃day and a great weekend as well. Anyways nice to see you (again), versus your substitutes, that you have on your Channel. 🤔🤔

Hi GTO! As you’ve seen, our roster of talented show hosts has grown over the past year. I don’t have the bandwidth to host every single original series produced on this channel. That’s pushed me to delegate assignments and I consider Stephanie, Thalia, Jacqueline and the others as teammates rather than substitutes. Appreciate you sticking with us after so many years and I hope all in Arizona as well.

Yet another great episode Ron! Where do you track investor leverage? What is your source for the assertion of 'overleverage' in the market and how do you quantify it?
@etfguideАй бұрын
Hi gv…overleverage and excessive risk taking is very common in sharply trending, one directional markets and this one is no exception. I quantify this at an individual portfolio level when I do Portfolio Report Cards on the risk grade. I use a formula that specifically measures a portfolio’s drawdown level in dollar terms, the percentage of the portfolio financed via borrowed funds (if applicable) and portfolio volatility vs. the portfolio’s relevant benchmark. Thx for watching!

Ron thank you for taking the time to reply to this question. One of the reasons I asked about overleverage in the market as a whole, stock, crypto, etc. markets is that I recently read the book 'Boom and Bust' and the authors describe the 3 arms or components of a 'bubble' as: Speculation, Marketability and Credit. I am not saying that the stock market or crypto is in a bubble, but of these 3 arms, I think Credit is the most dangerous so when you mentioned 'overleverage' it certainly got my attention!

Great thoughts, Ron. My broker doesn't allow those crypto ETFs. I doubt that I would have jumped. 2024 so far has been great as was 2023. No major changes are planned for my portfolio. In January I'll probably harvest a tax gain in a mutual fund. Have a great December!

Dave: Brokers shouldn’t be banning customers from investing in crypto ETFs no matter how much they’ve convinced themselves they are protecting customers. Their role is to strictly to facilitate trades and to allow investors to decide for themselves what they want to invest in. Great to see you again and I’m glad 2024 has treated you well.

@@etfguide I think you're right. Fortunately crypto wasn't in my plans. I hope you have a great 2025.
