Sad knowing that this is gone as I watch it. Yes, there's a teeny tiny bit of mercury in old school thermometers and thermostats. Also sad that they didn't salvage the appliances. That stove is nicer than what I have and lots of people would like that washer/dryer.

Love your content and your passion and love for architecture and interior design. Out of all the urban ex I watch you are the most respectful. I've literally been binge watching all the episodes you've done. Sad to see so many beautiful times pieces be torn down. I'd rather see them completely renovated and restored to their former glory rather than to be replaced with something with no history or character. I'm in Louisiana and would love to do some urban ex around here

This was such a cool home and a cool period for homes. Too bad there will be so few if any left. I could totally see minor updates and restoration while maintaining the mid century vibe. Those stairs really near. Love the windows and the ares with the cool wood ceilings. It would have been neat to live there. Why bother building all that crawl space and not just have made it all basement?!?! Like the porch with the grill and it would probably have been warm in winter with sun reflecting off the snow. Thanks for sharing another cool one. I vaguely remember seeing the stairs and wooden ceiling before. Take care, be well and always stay safe!

Ethan, the only thing I’m very surprised about is the bedrooms are very small. It is very plain and not do to it being painted white, but sometimes some home owners to sell their homes will paint everything white so that the new home owner who buys it could choose the colors that they want to put into the home, at least that’s for the most part what I have observed, and in my opinion, but it’s just such a waste. I hope somebody can use a good washer and dryer and refrigerator and all of that but if not, oh well thank you for sharing. Take care and be safe.🫶🏻❤️🤠

It was a very nice house and even the updates to it were done well. As far as the numbers on the bedroom doors, if they had a moving company pack up for them they might have numbered the bedrooms for the boxes because cardboard boxes all look the same and they wouldn’t know Susie’s bedroom from Debbie’s.

@ungrateful-667 ай бұрын
Even though ones they "throw up" look much more solid, we know that the walls are weaker than cardboard most of the time and everything is for facade's sakes. I loved the midcentury moderns as a little kid. My aunt and uncle had one in Fort Lauderdale's New River neighborhood before it went the way of most neighborhoods in Southeast Florida as they tend to do.

I don't remember seeing this one at all (maybe i didn't). What a shame about the cherry(?) tree, it was so pretty all in bloom. ☹That light shining on the sunroom floor highlighted the darker brown part on them, which made them look sort of like 3D cubes; it was a nice little area. As a tea fan, i'm annoyed they left that (plus the cannisters & box were really nice)! The wood & metal staircase railing was cool, and i've actually seen something like the wood on the ceiling somewhere recently on Instagram--it was a new product, they used it as a feature wall, so you can still buy at least something like it. That interaction with you and Carlo was funny! 😄Reminds me of when you two used to explore together a long time ago.😊 Now i'll forever wonder if that whole house was red brick or if some matched the brick that was inside the living rm fireplace area. (I'd like to think it was a nice combination of the two, and they looked way better than that white paint that took away all its' character.) The vanity & makeup table in the master were awesome. You asked if there was anything back there in the crawl space. Answer: Spiders.😄 Anyway, thank you for documenting it so at least the home lives on in some way. Take care, and stay safe.

I live in a similar house built in 1954. We also have the giant windows like this. I love my windows but finding curtains to fit them is a pain! Our kitchen is only partially remodeled so we have original cabinetry under our kitchen sink. It was designed to resemble an automobile dashboard I think and has a really cool metal and red plastic emblem in the center that looks like it belongs on a car. If we ever sell and the new owners plan to remodel, which they likely will, I am taking that emblem with me! Our bathroom vanity has a similar automobile-like design with vents and chrome accents. People have asked why we don’t modernize and replace it-no way! I hate it when people do a gross modern update!

I wish you would not close the curtains, why did you do that ? we can't see the cool window design, and get a feel for the rooms with the huge awesome windows which were such a fabulous feature from that era. I would do anything to own a house like this, it is such a tragedy that these places continue to be allowed to be torn down, and not preserved as historical. It's infuriating to see such destruction. I grew up in Richmond Hill in a super cool area, large cool mid century bungalows. Its heartbreaking to see they are all gone now, and replaced with horrid, tacky mega mansions that are dated in a few years 😢
