Ethan, of the mid century houses you’ve explored so far this is by far the coolest. Everything from the pool at the start to the vintage bike in the garage to the bar in the basement and everything else in between screams retro 1960’s all over it but in a good way. It’s in actually quite good shape for its age and could be totally restorable. Love especially that sparking bathroom on the main floor with the mirrors; if that doesn’t say “Marilyn Monroe” I don’t know what else would. Even those 60’s intercoms are amazing and so ahead of their time. Definitely looks as though the basement had some upgrades in the 80’s but apart from that this house is a winner.

How do I know this, because in 1978 my parents were going to buy it for $675,000 but my sisters and myself did not want to move so my parents purchased a huge property in Muskoka and began one of the largest non-profit kids camps in the world!! So, no Marilyn!!!

Wow... what a shame that place just sets there rotting away empty like that. Canada needs to stop letting places sit and rot til somebody buys it just to tear it down. There was so much in this house worth saving. The lot/yard was amazing. You can tell deer were laying in that yard by the way the grass was lying. I'm sure they think they are living a great peaceful life with a yard like that where no one is ever around. Great place to check out. I love seeing the old. So many memories of the colors and lights in homes like this. Doesn't hardly look lived in. Thanks for sharing another good abandoned place, Ethan! Do you do videos as your full-time job? I'm just asking since you put out more than others do. Keep up the great adventures.

At @10:40 you see 2 switches. One is a thermostat, but the AprilAire (brown box round button) is a humidifier/dehumidifier. ❤

New subscriber! I was typing out a reply and somehow got deleted, haha. Anyway, I was just saying how nostalgic this house makes me feel. My parents were of the same generation as MM, and the house I grew up in that they built in Ohio. My parents chose similar architectural and design elements. The slate floor in the entryway -- my parents had a black slate floor in their entryway and the long hallway leading away and down to the other rooms. They also had black and gold flocked wallpaper in the entryway and the one wall that led up the stairs. I loved all the little details, like the built-in bookshelves in the living room (I know she was a reader, and I am too). The wall of windows that looked out onto the nature and brought so much light in, and really, the abundance of windows throughout the house are something I also appreciate. Houses today are built like caves without enough natural sunlight. I really liked the unfinished or light stains on the wood elements in the home. The wood floors were so beautiful, everything was beautiful! So peaceful and calm. A lovely retreat from the real world. I wish I could live there! I can imagine how I would furnish and decorate, with teal blue velvet chairs and sofa, white floor length sheer curtains blowing in the breeze and light and dark oceanic and beach colors (which are my favorite!), and a nice art studio in one of those well-lit rooms. One can daydream, haha.

What a beautiful house. I hope whoever lived in it had a nice life.

It is a very uniqie and amazing home. With all the research I've been able to achieve on Marilyn, this home was not built for her. She had just purchased her home in Los Angeles 2 years before her death. If there is evidence of this being made for her Ive yet to find it but it is beautiful for sure.

There is either someone in that house with you or that place is haunted! I heard walking while you were in the living area not walking. I also heard sounds of things dropping too. That's some craziness!

I wasn’t expecting it to be in that great of shape. The second little house attached is probably a Guest House. I bought a mid century home in 2005. It was split level, has two fire places that covered the entire wall from top to bottom and left to right. The main bathroom as all original, Lavender tile, Lavender toilet, sink, toilet paper holder, tile on the walls in the enter bathroom, soap Holder, the Lavender, porcelain tub, was really very big. When I moved I wanted to take the bathroom with me lol

So strange, Ethan, that place does not look like it would have stairs inside of it from looking at it on the outside.

This is an Italian style home designed and built in the '70s and Marilyn Monroe had already died in 1962 so not impossible. And her last known home was in Los Angeles, California.

As far as I know Marilyn's house in Hollywood was very modest where she died. How do u know it was her house?

That slate tile entryway is popular in my mid century modern neighborhood, built in the 50's. I've refinished mine in two diffetent homes. Lovely and durable slate tile.

The BBQ hot dog smell could be mold. Be careful when entering old houses because some mold is bad. My ex boyfriend was in the hospital for two weeks because of mold.

Hey Ethan I’m a long time subscriber and I remember back in the day you used to tell about your research and the history of some of these homes. Would love to hear how you found out this was supposed to be Marilyn’s home and the history behind it. Very awesome house, always love the mid century homes. Nothing like them!

This is one of my favorite channels. Some of you all are just hateful, hateful people. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything and don't watch the videos. What kind of person wants to hurt another's feelings. Anyway, Ethan keep up the good work and thank you for sharing your adventures.

Well, they're within their right to speak up if they think something false is being shown, especially about such a famous person. This is not the home she lived in and not the home normally thought of when you say Marilyn Monroe. I thought the same when I saw the picture, until I heard what he said about the home being built the same year she passed.
