Kan man köra ecopower bensin med e85 ? Om jag ändra mappen till e85?
@superstrongchedder8 жыл бұрын
Did your Saab come from the factory with the ability to run E85 ethanol and petrol? or is this something you have added?
@AcidStyle798 жыл бұрын
He is using T7suite to flash a new firmware version, read up on it it quite easy to do, you have to take in account that e85 burn with less calorific efficiency and hence you need to inject more, make sure your injectors are up to par most people when tuning on E85 use Siemens Deka but if you want stock power the red injectors are fine.
@TrionicSeven8 жыл бұрын
The Aero only comes in a gasoline version and I flash the car with software that takes care of e85, just like AcidStyle79 said.

+Trionic Seven: For Saab Enthusiasts oh i see. But do you have to change any hardware or does the software update /change take care of everything?
@TrionicSeven8 жыл бұрын
As I talked about before I tried E85 last year with no hardware changes resulted in the fuel pump dying on me. That's to be expected. For the Aero, it runs more or less straight on, but with less power on e85 due to injectors maxing out. Again, can't really make a tutorial about biopower conversion as there are a lot of pitfalls and variations depending on model and condition of the car!
@TrionicSeven8 жыл бұрын
But generally, the Saabs need only small, if any, hardware changes. Software takes care of the rest

quick question. I have a phase 1 saab 95 aero. 2.3t Abbot forged conversion blah blah blah. I can only get 99 octane fuel at pump. how hard is it change a normal petrol car to biopwer. of course mapper etc but what fuel pump and lines are required. many thanks
@TrionicSeven8 жыл бұрын
Usually you just need to replace the pump, the rest works fine. Plus software, of course.

Trionic Seven I asked this in a saab forum on Facebook. the thing is. ethanol in the UK is very hard to get. near impossible. eBay is the only option. must be that they don't really know. but some forums on the net Were saying fuel lines.
@TrionicSeven8 жыл бұрын
Experience has shown that you don't need to change the fuel lines in the Saab.

Hur mycket skillnad gör det att köra på 95 jämfört med 98? Har själv en aero och har bara tankat 95 hittills
@TrionicSeven7 жыл бұрын

Hello. I to am a member at Trionictuning. Have John C:s Combiadapter too, but cannot find a thread where you can buy the casing for it. Could you point me in the right direction? I live in Jönköping too. I am thinking of going to one of the Saab meetings at Max too.... Would be nice. Are there any meetings scheduled this fall? Regards / Roger
@TrionicSeven8 жыл бұрын
Hej Roger!

Mvh Roger

I am thinking of adapting my Viggen to bio power. Would you suggest a new fuel pump for the 2000 Viggen? To encourage the use of e85? I am planning to tune through Maptun
@TrionicSeven8 жыл бұрын
Check out the biopower conversion thread on trionictuning. I recommend an upgraded fuel pump since the old one can die at any time with e85

The ELM327 can be bought at many car parts stores, or even ebay (but beware of fakes)

so all I need is an upgraded e85 compatible fuel pump to go e85 on my 9-5 linear? or is there more to it? I've been researching some people say different things
@TrionicSeven6 жыл бұрын
You can wing it and use an original pump, it might last 1 km or 10 000 km, no way of telling. Have a good towing insurance :)

Hi Jonathan ,first of all thank you for all those great videos you have made, very clear and easy for everyone to understand ,I have couple of questions , is it necessary to replace the fuel pump? because it will fail using E85,and is Walbro GSS341 255LPH , special pump made to handle E85,,also its been about 3 weeks since you have converted your SAAB to E85 are you happy with the results?
@TrionicSeven8 жыл бұрын
Hey Manny. Just look at my fuel pump replacement video from last year, the car died due to the pump failing after driving on E85. With the stock pump it's not a matter of "if", but rather "when" it fails. Remember that the 9-5 pumps usually fail even when driving on gasoline. My pump failed quicker as it was a cheap aftermarket pump the last owner installed. Very happy so far, consumption on the highway is around 11 l/100km.

Hi, what kind of tablet/phone holder are you using on your dash? Looks convenient. I'm surprised you're running 95 octane. I'm stage 2 and converted to LPG so I use only 99+ or 100 octane whilst it's warming up and won't be trying 95. I was about to ask you if you are encountering lots of misfires or knocks on A95 but realized you don't have openSID.
@TrionicSeven8 жыл бұрын
Check out my video on the Brodit phone holder: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g56udKJqpd2LhLM I have OpenSID, but not in this exact video. There will always be some knocking when running 95 octane fuel, however I do so much driving that anything else is too expensive.
