Thanks to the Emperor's visions and mission to develop his country and liberate the people of the land. He brought Ethiopis so many privileges. He was their savior/redeemer. But in the end his own people that he empowered turned against him. Same story of jesus being betrayed, crucified, and denied by his own people, after all the good he did for them. Emperor Haile Selassie 1 is Almighty God in flesh. His name, his titles, his birth sign his biography, enough proof of this claim.

Yes my brother and they did turn on a great leader history will show their judgment anybody who studies what highly Selassie did shows that he is a great leader we know there are people that will always spread propaganda about him he told us people living in Ethiopia are no exception members of the church are no exception and yes he was praised by the clergyman of his church who refer to him through scripture and prophecy and he commissioned the Ethiopian member of the church to paint a mural that remains inside of his Palace that depicts him in a scene from Revelation as the final judge

It must be nostalgic for some to be enamored with these clips. Be objective, and ask yourself. Could he have done more in terms of ethnic and religious equity? Could he have been the reason why so many Amharas are haunted by his discriminatory policies towards those whom they considered less civil, less Ethiopian, and less noble members of the Ethiopian family? I feel, to a large extent, he was a failure, for if he succeeded, the country would have been very different. Much of what we continue to deal with is animosity towards each other rooted in the struggle of the significant difference in how his monarchy treated people. In the end, no one was left with an advantage. And by the way, I am not anti-Hile, but I liked the ending of Haile Selassie's feudal system, for that would have kept us 2nd class citizens. And on that front, I condemn the animosity that Amhara across our nation have been treated with for a perceived advantage they held over the rest of the Ethiopian family. If there was such a thing, others' envy didn’t let them enjoy it for themselves, just as the recent Tigarus haven’t either. And the centuries-old cycle seems to continue.

@@XalaalSomalis the Good Emperor even struggled with his own noble family and the church to give up land to the poor. He gave all ethnic group a change to be a Representative in his monarch. But most of them fought him, because they didn't want to give up their old slavery and backward system. He abolished slavery in Ethiopia, he gave all Ethiopian equal priviledge as long as they were willing to make a change. The Good Emperor improved/developed Ethiopia's social and economic position tremendously. The world have record of what Ethiopia was like prior to his rule and what improvements was done once he sat up on the throne. DURING THE TIME OF KING DAVID, SOLOMON, TAHARKA, MOSES, ABRAHAM, JACOB, and especially JESUS CHRIST, despite their good heart and good intentions they were judged and hated by the enemies who sat upon oppression. You seem like an enemy of progress. When God brought the children out of Egypt and out of captivity and saved them from their common enemy, they turned around and disrespected him, and cursed him. And over the the period of time he turned his face from them and destruction took them, they couldn't save themselves. GOD CHASTISE THOSE WHO NEED TO BE CHASTISED, THEY WILL COMPLAIN BUT ITS OK. BECAUSE HE IS THE CREATOR AND THE AUTHOR. Not all people in Ethiopia are children of GOD, some of them are the SEED of the SERPENT. And the seeds of the serpent tongue is against God. EMPEROR HAILE SELASSIE IS ALMIGHTY GOD IN FLESH. REVELATION SAYS THAT IN THOSE DAYS (WHICH IS IN THE TIME OF REVELATION WHICH STARTED IN THE LATE 19TH CENTURY SINCE THE TIME OF EMPEROR MENELIK 2) All eyes shall see the face of the LORD all eyes shall see GOD (thanks to technology we saw him and his good deeds).

@@patiencevirtue3932 I realize the emperor has a completely different meaning for the two of us. But out of respect for what he means to you and knowing that anything I say won’t change much I will refrain from answering your justification of some Ethiopians to be “serpents” worthy of social injustice and oppression. Is it not Ironic that this is how the Whites have justified their slavery, racism and oppression towards you and your people? I guess dehumanization of people isn’t a new element for human beings to disregard the cruel and savagery lived experience of the oppressed. Since you hold him to be divine, pointing out his shortcomings won’t help. However, you can read about why his own people deposed him.

You're regurgitateing unproven, flawed, false narratives propogated by TPLF, OLF, ELf, EPLF, EPRP, Derg, Meison, ESUNA, socialists, revolutionary democrats, and other narrow minded liberation fronts. Amharas are as poor as any ethnicity in Ethiopia. It was a lie then. It is a lie now.
@XalaalSomalis
@XalaalSomalis 3 жыл бұрын
@@onelove2817, Do you know what all those organizations you mentioned represent? They all came about into existence due to grievances, and real ones, with the emperor’s regime. Of course, Amharas as a group were and are as poor as any other reflective of our country. You should have read my entire comment before going into your pre-existing defensive mode. Any neutral scholarly person will concede the facts that a disproportionate majority of the privileged under the emperor’s reign from education to government posts were Amharas and then other highland Christians; left out to be civilized first by those privileged core servants were the Muslims lowlands and other peripheral ethnicities who were also deemed not so Ethiopians. The emperor did some positive but that his education campaign policies were discriminatory in that they have separated Ethiopians into “a deserving group” and “not so deserving group.” From your defensive tone, it seems that you may need to examine your bias. Please respond to the entire gist of my comment without taking snippets to air an already formulated defensive position. And remember, every Ethiopian or, for that matter, any world citizens can either praise or criticize the late emperor based on his record during his reign. While he was a father figure to his largely Amhara and Christian constituents, he was absent in the lives of those who were deemed “others.” I can back this conclusion with facts and data. Lastly, the late Emperor was deposed and replaced by Derg, which sprung out of our Ethiopian Army for they recognized something needed done to attend to the grievances shared by almost all Ethiopians, except the an elites core. You can not re-write history by dismissing it as a propaganda.

I primarily blame the fuedal system for the inequalities of the time. Landowning Amharas, Oromos, eritreans, Tigraians, and other ethnic Chiefs have control over the daily lives of the serfs and peasants . The uneducated Derg misled by the narrow minded tribal and ethnic alligned student movement destroyed the country. I am for land for tiller. Today land is taken from the poor Oromo, Beshangul, Gambela, Afar, Amhara is given to tribal Tigrayans in the name of investment. In Addis the farners were forcibly removed from their land by Tigraians in the name of development. The farmers end up being displaced and homeless. Despite resistance from conservative fuedal landlords and Orthodox Church Haile Selassie tried to bring the country to civilization. With limited resources he established modern education, aviation, rail, military, police, OAU, etc. When Derg took over Ethiopia"s economy was growing at faster rate.

Anybody could work in the government regardless of background during H.I.M Haile Selassie's era. All you had to do was work hard and be educated and you'd find a spot in the government. If you couldn't afford education the church would help you and the government would sponsor you if you were a promising student. Nowadays everyone want's to leave Ethiopia during H.I.M Haile Selassie's government Ethiopians living abroad would come back home after completing their educations to teach others and improve the state of their country. Now Habeshas are a people in exile. Secondly you call him a failure but if you compare 1930s Addis to 1970s Addis it's somewhat unrecognizable. Now look at Ethiopia today. Everything built on the legacy of H.I.M but the stripped his name so he gets no credit. Addis Ababa University was Haile Selassie I University. Bole Airport was Haile Selassie I University. Ethiopian Airlines was his idea and now it's one of the best airlines in the world and is part of the star alliance. He built the Holy Trinity Cathedral and made the ETOC independent of Cairo. There's many more contributions of H.I.M that are too much to mention. One can only hope that level heads prevail and people reinstate the monarchy.
