@Skrooge Lantay Say it a million times, won't change the facts, again. Go. Do. Research. Not my job to educate you on your own peoples cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic EXACT replications, this is derived from the FACT that HABESHA is one people, not many, so these arbitrary divisions are as effective as an Ethiopian saying "No, I am not Ethiopian, I am Amhara". Redundant and unnecessary, by saying you are Amhara you are saying you're Ethiopian, and like it or not the same can be said for people who identify as Ertriean.

Speaking as an Egyptian, I do not want war with Ethiopia at all. I see both sides blowing into their war trumpets but I don't rejoice in that because war will benefit no one. I believe that Ethiopia and Egypt should cooperate, not fight, for the betterment of Africa. Only together can we stand a chance against foreign pressure.

I think Egypt is rightfully concerned about control of the Nile which is one of their only strategic assets. I think if Ethiopia compensated with funding for desalination plants and discounted food exports for Egypt, they could make something work while the dam reservoirs fill.

Skrooge Lantay how do you steal a culture you are a part of? Have you ever thought to ask that if Medri Bahar is such an important root of modern Ethiopian culture (which it is) then why would you cut yourselves off from all of the resources and manpower of the whole country just of some false pride? Axum was a part of the wider Ethiopian civilization of the Nile valley, not the exclusive right of a state that up until the late 19th century did not exist in any way shape or form other than as a on again/off again part of Ethiopia according to the strength of the crown at that time. But nevermind me, keep taking pride in colonial borders and a colonial name you had imposed upon you. You still my brothers and sister. 👍🏾
@yonathanmengistu731
@yonathanmengistu731 4 жыл бұрын
Skrooge Lantay Skrooge Lantay Eritrea has many ethnic groups with no real relation other than the colonial experience yet somehow y’all managed to fabricate a nationalism and even a false history based upon this shared colonial experience but you have the nerve to suggest that an ancient culture like Ethiopia could imposed upon you when you were and have always been a part of it? Come on bro, you can definitely gripe about the political issues like Selassie annexing Eritrea when the federation was quite frankly something that should’ve been done throughout the country. You can argue that the attempt to make Amharic the Lingua franca ill advised. You can even say that during Eritrea’s time back with Ethiopia they experienced the same Amhara cultural hegemony that many groups complain about. But this ridiculous re-writing of history has to stop on your end. There was no such thing as Eritrea when Ge’ez was being developed, it was a part of the whole of Ethiopia. You’re lack of understanding in that is disappointing but not surprising as it is contrarian to your nationalist based narratives. 🤷🏾

The Martial Lord of Loyalty it is old but it is not older than Catholicism . Roman Catholicism has its roots from when Jesus sent Peter and the apostles to spread his words through the Pentecost. It is fair to say Roman Catholicism that we know of as today formed later but that’s the origin. The Ethiopian church was formed in the same manner.the Ethiopian Church was also formed from the pentecost and the apostles spreading gods words (specifically Mathew was said to be in the area). However because the two churches were separate from each other for so long due to distance they formed different religions with the same core beliefs. The exact time each church formed properly can be argued but they both formed from the same event and origin. I may be mis saying some events so if anyone has more knowledge please chime in

@DenDave_
@DenDave_ 4 жыл бұрын
Honestly it doesnt have to be as much of a problem as it is made. Egypt relies on the Nile for 90% of it's fresh water, 85% of which goes to farmlands. But Egypt's farms use a horribly inefficient method of surface irrigration, causing high levels of water loss, low land productivity and salinity issues. Since Egypt has always been the main user of the Nile's water, they probably were never motivated to modernise their irrigration methods, but now Ethiopia's development threatens that water source. I think both countries would profit from joining forces, and maybe look at western Europe and particulary the Netherlands to learn about modern and efficient farming & water usage. That way Egypt can continue using their current farms while being less reliant on the Nile, allowing Ethiopia to continue growing

As much as we want, need, and deserve the dam, many of Egypt’s concerns are legitimate. I’m not a fan of what’s been done in the Omo valley and we cannot allow that to happen to the Nile. But I know we’ll make peace, we’re all neighbors at the end of the day.

@googane7755 4 жыл бұрын
@@BLRSharpLight I said Ethiopia was one of the much stronger countries on the african continent not in the world. The problems they face are similar to their many sub saharan african neighbours like food shortage or education. "natural resources are a curse not a blessing" Yet they managed to avoid colonisation for much of their history. Having a rich source of resources means that you don't have to trade or go to war for it like how we saw Imperial Japan do which ultimately led to it's downfall. It doesn't put you in a desperate state once you become a industrial power and it's still better than being a country with neither an industry nor resources. In fact, it has been a blessing for many Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia and Kuwait who are one of the biggest exporters of oil which lead to its massive wealth today but I guess reading isn't your strength either. "only the one river, just one" You serious? Ethiopia has also fought off the likes of Egypt who were backed by the Ottoman Empire en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethiopian%E2%80%93Egyptian_War Or that they have fought off an Italian invasion which lead to an embarrassing defeat of a colonial power en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Italo-Ethiopian_War

Truthbeyondemotion South Africa is still the most industrialised and stable nation in Africa. Doesn’t suffer civil unrest etc. Has the most developed economy with world class banking system and an established diplomatic strategy over the whole world. Also the most traded currency in all of Africa. But South Africa will most likely be overtaken in this position by bigger countries like Nigeria and Ethiopia within the coming decades. Which is a good thing. Africa must develop, if Ethiopia and Nigeria profit, the rest of the continent will profit.🇿🇦🇪🇹🇳🇬

Ethiopian language, Amharic, is actually very closely related to Hebrew and the Semitic language family. Their relationship is theorized to trace back thousands of years ago to the Sahara desert, when it was lush and green. Oddly enough the Ethiopian orthodox church includes the Book of Enoch in their canon, which is written in Amharic and they believe it to be one of the oldest religious texts. It’s a real head scratcher.

I've been to Ethiopia several times, last year the latest time, and unfortunately as the country is growing internationally the realism for its people is getting worse. Addis is way too over populated as Ethiopians from outside come there for work. The current tribal issues make certain areas unsafe which is heartbreaking as when I do visit I love to travel up and down this beautiful country. It is so steeped in history and its people are truly beautiful, welcoming and hospitable. I hope she can resolve her internal issues and begin to take her place as a world power.

Africa is really moving these years. I remember the 80s when Ethiopia was seen as a country of famine and misery. Systems are put in place, the new leaders are smart and responsible, and economic development is well underway.

These countries are only developing thanks to western and chinese investment. Africa received the equivalent to 50 marshall plans, and they have very little to show for it. Many African countries have declining GDPs per capita. The moment Western countries stop pouring massive amounts of aid, these countries will devolve into what they were before Europeans brought them from the stone age. Tribes fighting one another with stone spears.

@@enterchannelnamehere2922 The reason why Africa is less developed than the rest of the world is BECAUSE of the west. Colonialism never truly ended and currently European countries (ESPECIALLY France) and the US continue to steal Africas resources to this day. For more than two millenia, Homer has been the presumed composer of the Iliad. Homer as a historic personage is enigmatic, and many say the name was a classification for the Greek bards. Aetheopea is not a European word, but Greek, which means burnt faces. The story of Phaeton gives the origins of that designation.
