Here’s a story. Got my first tattoo when I was 17…my grandmother who still thought I was 5 walks into the bathroom whilst I’m completely naked in the shower, saw it and brought in steel wool and tried to scrub it off while crying. When I got out I told her I got it because nonno died so the lion reminded me of him….was bullshit but she makes me show all her friends now and tells them “that’s my Gino”. Incredible stuff.

I get elderly ladies from all over Europe grab my sleeved left arm and slap it hard. With a wagging finger they say to me things like "Babushka Criah, Criah" "You Gren Mather She **taps fingertips on her cheeks**". I'm only 55, but it still hurts.

You and me lived the same life, Pete. When I met my first 'proper' girlfriend, my Dad asked me " Are her parents Italian" I joked "Nah, she is Mongolian" The look on his face was priceless. Then I said "Nah, her parents are from Sardinia. He said "Thatsa good, as long as their not Greek or Calabrese, I'ma 'appy" He made me laugh all the time. He always fucked up people's names unless it was Vince, Joe or Sam. The sooshi mango Boyz remind me of him, especially the concrete videos, because him and his brother had a concrete business..

Hey Calabrese Pete, it's your Paesano Sicilian Vince again. Just so you know, I dated a few Italian Aussie born girls, even a half Calabrese one, but it never worked out... I ended up with a Chilean woman, my Dad was OK with it, my Nonna wouldn't have been! We are still together, ups and downs and all, after 25 yrs. My Dad had a 'thing' for Calabrese Italiani. Being a super proud Sicilian man will do that to people.. All the best, Pete. Keepa watchin' the Sooshi Mango boys. They make a you feel goode!
