Thankyou for this flip through it’s a fantastic book. I love the larger faces, I like even larger as it’s so much easier to build up the features. I also love the fact there is no shading as thats where the imagination comes in. Colouring greyscale or shaded work is really enjoyable but not challenging. My bane is always the hands 🙄.

Thanks for a nice review! I've already got this book, it was packed very well and arrived very quickly. The paper is amazing for all my pencils and watercolor. I really enjoy ethnic theme, it's a nice change from endless fantasy girls and fairies, and I'm happy not to have any pre-made shades, they limit me, I prefer to try to give more individuality to the girls. The same thing for Hanna's girls, they are extremely popular without any shades maybe for this reason as well, and they always look so different then coloured, but I like Katerina's girls even more. The girl with a baby goat is Peruvian by the way :) and the one with a totem is Maori.

Thanks for mentioning that the paper suits watercolour. I was just wondering about that. I'm also perfectly happy with no pre-shading - it means you can decide where you want your light source to be.

What a beautiful book !! I love your flip throughs with your coloring ideas added to them. One of the ladies with the floral and wheat headdress is a traditional Ukrainian dance outfit. The colors are bright reds and yellows think Ukrainian easter eggs.

Excellent review, Claire. I’d seen this book on Instagram with a gorgeous completed image and when I saw a flip through, I felt pretty much like you: gorgeous images. However, for me, I’m not ready for them yet. I prefer grey scale and more shading at the moment but this is something I’d love to progress to 😎

I agree with your shading thoughts. I do like this but not enough to purchase the book. If she has individual image downloads available I might be tempted to get a couple though.

Anther great review Claire. The one you said is totem pole isn't it is a Maori Tiki ,they are usually carved out of wood. Just thought you may like to know. Love all your videos.

Wonderful ethnic variety in this book, I love all the different cultural outfits, hairstyles etc. I just wish there was a bit of gender balance. Am I the only one who gets bored of books just full of women? I like to colour men too! They can have great hair and outfits too!
