Honestly watching all these games you can sometimes forget Beef did all these cards himself alone on a giant map (and with a bunch of scraps!), it's honestly mindblowing that it feels like such a huge game with so many gameplay options

Regarding the String card -- what can you do to remove string in regular Minecraft? Placing water! The Water Bucket card removing String would fit the theme of real-Minecraft function, and would provide an extra use for the Water Bucket, similarly how you're introducing Paralysis being curable with Milk Bucket!

Man, we were all "laughing" at that ultra rare and "weak" Etho card, but the slab attack is actually insane if you're lucky. You really made watch this on the edge of my seat

I'd say he's a little better than common hermits, and worth playing right now in hybrid decks or even mono decks that don't have enough hermits otherwise, but he's still weak for an ultra rare.

As tragic as the scar thing is, just like in real TCG games, if both players and the GM miss/forget something then there is no takebacks, you just lose it. Gg though, such a tense game

if it's still possible to rewind to the moment it happened, then sometimes they will. But in this case the game had progressed way too far beyond it, every move being informed by the board state and what cards were drawn etc. There's just no rewinding that.

Now that many Hermits has experienced Gem's PVP abilities, seems like she could have her own alter ego card for GeminiSlay. You could probably use a skin from one of her MCC wins. I was thinking she could have a special move called "Juggle" that upon winning a coin flip, the opponent can't attack the next turn. As that's kinda/sorta similar to Pearl's Aussie Ping, maybe just limit the next attack to the least powerful of the available moves or something like that. Just food for thought.

Gem's special move should be to deal 'crit' damage if she took a certain amount of damage in the previous turn, as she's been teaching a few hermits to counter-crit in PvP recently.

Not gonna lie, beef is actually a great player at THE GAME HE MADE. Really close to win etho there Edit: also I rewatched the clip where they forgot to roll for deathloop, and right after that beef got a chance to roll for slab. Guess what? Beef rolled a red in his first roll! Which means scar would be knocked out regardless

I would like to suggest to have a card called the debug stick serving as a direct counter to the lead so you replace your cards that were moved and I think it fits the theme of the expansion

To be fair etho did get extremely bad rolls, the 3 cards he needed to win the game instantly were the last 3 he would've rolled. With odds in favour this could've been a 7-8 move game.

That's not exactly how randomization works. What the RNG of the game would have decided in that moment is not the same as what the RNG was several seconds later. It's two different points in time. That's probably the most egregious mistake I've seen all tournament, but for what it's worth, I think Etho's deck beats Beef's deck 9 times out of 10, anyhow.

I think a different sort of board game would be a good idea, a tcg game with different rules would be fun down the line but there's so many games that could be played on item frames. Perhaps battleships could be played in a similar fashion!

Lets not talk season 10 lol. I hate it when they change seasons. All those hardwork down the drain. People built games that hardly got played and changed to new seasons. Really heart breaking. For example etho and bdubs horse course, pvp arena. For example tango's decked out. Sure alot of ppl played decked out, but its backbreaking work and changing the season is just such a pity. Or tango's among us game

The rocket at 20:32 is the important one, this would've been the coin flip determining if Scar comes back, and it was red, so he wouldn't have come back anyways.

I feel like the play would've been to use TNT instead of bowing Iskall. Even if you hit 0 rolls on Etho's slab, Xisuma would've been down to 40 so even if Etho had swapped, it would've been a guaranteed bow kill on X in the next round. And if you hit 2 rolls on slab like you did, X is dead combined with the TNT and you hide the fact that you have bows in your deck.

Almost all of the time i've seen them use bow, its not used strategically. More often than not its being used to damage an afk hermit that wouldnt be brought out anyway.

I saw this play too but it's easier to see those kind of missed plays as an unstressed third party. Beef did really well. Although I really hope that all the hermits will figure out that the bow should only be used when you have a high chance of knocking out the AFK hermit that turn or the turn after. Using the bow as a "damage an AFK hermit for the hell of it" card is kind of a waste.

ya. Beef had three choices: no singe use, bow and tnt. He chose the only option that didn't lead to a knockout. tnt would've killed x with one green, and if he played neither but got all greens, he'd've knocked x out next turn with his bow.

I think Ezed Kineezed would be more appropriate for the current season. He's pulled that one out a few times. Arrow catch could be a defensive special by preventing arrows/crossbows from working.

Beef held up pretty great against Etho, I feel like Doc vs Etho will just come down to who can draw their Stress and Efficiency first that'll be interesting to see. Also I'm still hoping Batralis will be part of the Alter Ego packs I feel like there's some interesting moves you could do with him

This was such a close match. But I knew it was over when Etho used the chest; he was getting back the efficiency book he used earlier, and not a golden apple. That's also why he switched that turn just to make absolutely sure you couldn't get him on what he knew would be your last turn. But yeah, I know you're dissapointed but this was an incredibly fun, close match!

Not only was the toss at the end red, the next toss after Scar being knocked out (the first slab toss) was also red so unfortunately death loop wouldn't have happened even then :/ Great game nonetheless and you did really great especially considering Etho was using his "crush Beef" deck

An etho alternative card called “ladders” where the 2 moves are “I go up” and “I go down” etho can’t attack the currently active hermit. His moves only hit the guy above or below the active hermit depending on the move.

Maybe cactus could be one item of choice for active hermit and fire charge could remove one item from active opponent and one item from adjacent afk hermits but fire charge would be ultra rare. removing 3 item cards in one move would be very powerful.

To be honest with you Beef, the Stress card is exactly what I feared it would be, It is actually just broken. The entire requirement it needs to work is a single efficiency card. If the opponent draws both early, and gets the lead somehow, they just automatically win the game for free, or force a draw. No setup is required at all. All Etho had to do was stall until he got it. It works in absolutely every deck. Sure you might have to sacrifice 2 good cards, but the benefit of a Stress and Efficiency is just too powerful. Now imagine if they run two of both, and get to use the combo twice. All they need is to knock you out once, and the game is over. Now also combine it with some Chest cards. Not to mention if you ever even consider adding a card that lets you search the deck for specific cards.

you could give the command-block the effect, that if someone uses a lead or curse of vanishing on it, both players get to use the effect of that card. Or all cards the hermit had attached will either be discarded or returned to the hand. That would leave a lot more room for strategies than just making it impossible to remove the card

hey beef!! there should be an equipment card in the expansion pack that punishes someone for attacking. for example 'wolf pack' when hit with an attack it would do a residual amount of damage back to that hermit. i think it would really create some tension around choosing attacks and would promote switching hermits. could make things interesting!

One effect card that could be useful could be a straight “nope” card. Be an immediate play and it will nope any effect or attack, any effect will be put to the discard as used, and if used for an attack would also nullify any effect attached to the discard. Example would be the yolo using an efficiency effect etho used, the yolo would not happen and the efficiency card would be discarded.

Valiant effort Beef! I think the Command Block could have a tag like "Creative" which means it cant be affected by cards after its placed. This could open the door for stuff like a barrier block or end portal frame to have a consistent theme. I'm not as big a fan of the fire charge at the moment. I think having a card that exists only to discard one of your own cards is something that won't ever make the cut into a deck.

Beef, if you make a Tango alter ego with his ice skin. His special move could be to freeze all hermits on the board for 1 or 2 turns, where both players only can add and use items but can’t change or attack for those turns. Basically a way to draw more cards and prep more but for both players.

I think fire charge would be better as an AoE. Area of Effect. Maybe 30 damage to active hermit and 20 to the adjacent hermits. It fits in the theming of placement

Here's a thought: Suspicious stew. Equippable effect card, has a random effect that activates when the hermit it's attached to takes damage. This would mean you'd have to make a handful, but at least you don't have to remake the image many times.

What about making an effect card, like a rocket or something, that allows your active Hermit to flee becoming afk and you can switch to a new active Hermit but still attack with the new active Hermit. Kinda the opposite of the chorus fruit. Sort of an alter ego.

Wouldn't making all the Alter Egos rare-graded regardless of special moves (and lack thereof) make it difficult to include them in tournament decks? For example, all the base-game Speedrunner cards are already rares, so wouldn't it make more sense to have the Beetlejhost as a common that way a speedrunner deck isn't spending all its rares on Hermits?

Well alter ego are made to balanced the game. Meaning they are here to counter some of the existing cards that are too op. And also to introduce the card placement mechanics. The problem with if they are common cards is that of they are weak cards then why would they wanna swap them for existing cards? And if they are strong cards then how can they be common? I'd expect a card deck to still have mostly normal preexisting cards with a few alter ego to balance the deck against the opponent. Thats just my theory anyway. But I aint no expert so what do I know

A lot of them do make sense as rates, but I think you’re right that the speedrunners should have at least one common. The balancing there is to make a speedrunner deck more playable, rather than to counter an op card/set, so the logic is a bit different.

Here's some effect card Ideas: Creeper - does 30 damage to all hermits and discard one item from both active hermits, Allay - attach one discarded single item to active hermit.

You may have better effect by replacing the curse of Vanishing books with emeralds. They will let you take away the opponent's armor, but instead of just burning it you get to have it

It would have the potential to be extremely strong, but would need a huge amount of setup: Every AFK hermit on your team do an attack that they have unlocked (Cleo's special can copy someone that has no itens on them, this one can't), but the special effects of those attacks don't happen (you don't get Well's extra damage from his life colour, you can't steel things with Grian's special, etc, you only do the marked damage).

Adding a companion “hermit” card like a dog, Jelly, parrot, etc would be cool to see added. To add an interesting element, they could be low hp cards that are always afk, but assist the active hermit. This could add another layer of strategy with your card placement expansion pack.

Haven't watched this episode yet, but just got an idea for a new card or mechanic: Decked Out. This would have a picture of a Ravager on it (ala Tango's game) and force your opponent to draw AND discard a certain number of cards 😋

Beef, if you want to put the composter card controversy to rest, my suggestion is to reword it so that the player may discard up to 2 cards, and for every card discarded, draw a replacement. It makes the card more flexible but with a smaller benefit, as compared to the flint and steel, and it would reduce the chance of mistakenly trying to use the card. It also makes it function more like a Minecraft composter.

Beef to be honest, you should consider adding a new type. In pokemon the dragon types have moves typically powered up by different energy types, there is no dragon energy. I think you should consider adding a new type like collector. The move costs could be explorer / builder items like the dragon type. Or mythic/lore with prankster / pvp item costs. I dunno, just a thought you might want to consider.

Another great episode Beef. Tango has should have the dungeon master as his alternate. His attacks could be; Clank - each attack gets 10 or 20 added to the previous attack. Eg first attack 40, second 50, third 60, fourth 100, etc. There is a maximum Clank level, say 150. Maybe use 20 and incorporate the coin toss as to whether it increases And maybe, Black Market, Sneak or another feature of Decked Out. Happy Easter Keep up the great content

if there could be like an one-use effect card for certain hermits that gives them a third move like Grian could have "lagged" and it makes him like steal an item card from the opposing/adjacent hermit and adds the first card to his set. they should be very situational, they need the hermit and a specific situation to work: in this example it was Grian, a free item space and an opposing hermit with an item card in the first slot | in this situation its good late game and a control tool that if it isnt the necessary type stabs you in the back.

I think for evil Jevon you should make his health 240 but add to slime that if he rolls a head then he did absorption for the turn. He gets a attacked. And what absorption would do would be either just straight up take 20 less damage or to take 20 less damage for. Each different type of attack. That turn. So, for example. If someone attacked him with TNT, absorption will take 20 less damage from the TNT and 20 less damage from the attack of the actual hermit but if that seems to be too op you could also make it that he has the roll three times and get a two out of three for absorption to be applied
