The Hermits and fans have all gone bonkers. Some people have watched like 20 hours of TCG content over the last 2 days. You're a legend because you've created a game that is giving your fellow Hermits enjoyable, repeatable stream content where they can just get on the server and have fun together then call it a stream. And it's so fun to watch. Especially the Hermits nerding out in the card shop looking at what each other gets.

I’ve been watching TCG almost nonstop and I feel like it’s not even half of all the content the hermits have been putting out, it’s amazing and a little scary at the same time. Lucky I don’t start back at study until next week. I can enjoy the content guilt free.

It is so great to see the interaction of all the Hermits around TCG. It is such a great payoff for Beef who basically exiled himself to an island for 8 months making maps. Also the interactions feel so natural compared to some of the storyline interactions. Just a bunch of friends hanging out.

It would be a legal nightmare in its current form. All of the item/type and effect cards are explicitly items that exist in minecraft and as a result are the intellectual property of Mojang and Microsoft.

I heard Doc mention in the background of Rens stream that there's someone making a web based version of it or something it was hard to hear because Ren and Cub were playing a game and Gem and Doc were talking far back where proximity chat barely caught it but sounds like maybe a fan is bringing it to life

I was worried there would be a lukewarm reaction to the release with maybe a few Hermits actually being a bit interested in the game, and, if I'm honest, I wasn't expecting to enjoy watching the matches. It's so gratifying to see that there's a genuine TCG craze on the server right now, and I am having so much fun watching the matches!

I feel like a great little addition to the store would be maybe a take-a-card leave-a-card box so hermits can do relatively anonymous trades. You can even set categories like item/hermit/effect

This needs to be available IRL. I've never been able to understand and play TCGs. However, learning and watching this created over nearly a year has me hooked. I watched nearly 10 hours of Hermits streaming the game yesterday. Well done Beef!

If you want a game similar to this game, Look into the Pokemon ccg. If you want a little more complicated ccg, look into Magic: the Gathering. I have over 100 different ccgs, if you'd like to know more about any ccg, feel free to reply to this message. There are a ton of really great games.

Beef, I'm so happy for you! You put nearly a year into creating this and mentioned your doubts about how it would be received. And here we are, less than a week in, with Hermits and viewers alike absolutely addicted. I've seen a growing number of chat messages on live streams asking Hermits to post up cam accounts in the arenas and leave them live streaming 24/7 to feed the viewers' appetites for the game. Something that may be a big hit amongst the Hermits is a trading/auction hall for cards. Maybe give each hermit who has bought a starter pack a stall with a few item frames for putting what they’re selling and a lectern for bids.
