Etho was the person to prove that he does this mostly for the fans. He turned down the potential to make more money when the mindcrakers decided to go corporate. And I know he had other reasons to not do it. But Etho was one of the few who backed down from the deal.

Like what Etho has done, he has a source block in the ceiling above his blaze project and he just creates a hole in the ceiling when he needs a stream of water. but what he needs in the brewing room is a source block.

Cauldrons, if i remember correctly are only good for filling up 3 or 4 potion bottles, however a water source is good for infinite uses. This means that the cauldron is practically useless.

Etho, at the top of the room make a Infinite water spring and have one block visible, that way if someone does miss click it's not to big of a deal :D. Don't want to do this but thumbs up so Etho can see !

I don't know what it was about this video, but it gave me the idea that there should be redstone activated chests, so like a chest that has to be powered or "opened" in order to get stuff from it.

For the water thing up top, just make an infinite pool that centers on that spot. That way if anyone happens to accidentally place blocks or pick up that water, it just refills.

I would suggest that you make a 3x3 water pool with the middle water block being above the hole in the ceiling. That way even if someone has a bucket and takes the water, a new water source will be created by the nearby water blocks. You would require 3 ice blocks. Place them diagonally and they will fill the area.

Dear Etho, Brewing Stands have a blast resistance of 2.5, and Ghast Fireballs can destroy anything up to 20.17. Therefore if a ghast fireball gets close to the stand it will break. Hope this Helps!

Etho, an idea to avoid people bucketing up the water and placing blocks in the source block. Place backwards facing furnaces on all four sides of it which gives a cool texture and if someone right clicks , they will simply enter the furnace. Please thumb up to let him see this.

It might be too late now, but if you've got the ice blocks to spare, you could make an infinite spring at the top so that even if someone use a block or bucket on the water source block by accident, the source block can easily/automatically get remade.

what you could do to stop people from accidentaly picking up your watter in a bucket is to have a chest outside the potion room with a sign that says "deposit all buckets here before entering the potion room". probably multiple signs especialy if you want to explain why.

Etho, you currently have 2 ice blocks. You could hide an infinite water source above the potion room and only show one corner of it so even if someone accidentally places a block, they can remove it and you won't lose any of your water.

you will have to power the pistons above the upside-down stairs in the potion room with blocks next to the pistons or otherwise the dispensers will fire, just a thought in case you haven't thought of it

Etho you could put two extra water source blocks on the sides of the main water source so the water would make an inifinate water source so if someone did destroy the source block, it would just reform :D

Ethos, you can also place the water source at a untouchable place and when people place a block at that hole, the source won't get destroyed.

You can still have water in couldrens in the nether if the water source in the potion room is destroyed. You just need a backup infanite spring to fill buckets for it somewhere. Otherwise remember enderchests will be able to transport things between the overworld and the nether quickly. Dunno if that will be of any use though. I think it will be for me.

Make a 3x3 unlimited water source square on top of the room with the hole in the middle supported by a sign, that way even if a bucket is used the water will just renew itself :) lovin the vids :)

Hey Etho, if youre looking for ideas for the exterior... I was wondering, if you put a water pillar from the top of the nether, and sort of make the water create a layer over the walls, then put the stairs around it, so that you maintain the transparent look, as in spawners? You could probably even fit some lighting behind the water... that would look awesome :]

He gets more beef if he one-hits them, and he can always cook the beef, since Blaze Rods are a more efficient source of furnace fuel. In the long run, one-hitting them is more efficient.

Yep, but he is using his looting 3 sword, which only works if you kill with the sword, meaning if they die by fire, you only get normal amounts. Considering his excess of blaze rods (to cook with), it makes sense to kill with the sword, rather than fire.

Etho, surround the water with furnaces so they cannot accidentally place a block., or make an infinite water source above, so if they do place a block, it automatically fixes.

Yes, I mean above the hole. There is enough space for a 3x3 infinite spring up top, so the source block above the hole would be regenerated if it where removed.

he should use an off center infinite spring in the potion room, so if a block is placed, it wont destroy the water, because they would need to place at least 2 blocks to prevent the water from coming back once the block is removed.

This method allows a full stack of the ingredient to remain on the stand, eliminating the need to go through a chest and select individual ingredients, then placing them on a stand. He has made hundreds of potions the "normal" way, now he wants to try another way, which he thinks is gonna be faster.

Up to 1.0 or 1.1 or so, you could get ice using silk touch. VintageBeef used that, so he still had a lot, and gave everybody some. Before 1.3, if you broke or melted ice in the nether, you would get water. That's how he did it. Later, he got some from Pause too... I don't know what video it was where he explained it.

Hey Etho, you can put furnaces around the water source block. That way if somebody right clicks it, they wont place a block but instead access the furnace.

you can put 4 chests around the water, that way no1 can place blocks in the water, this can work with dispensers and furnaces as well. and you can also place glass bottles in them for the potions.

extend the walkway into the potion room as the floor so it has a more rounded shape - like your LP storage room. Also, if you make an infinite stream on the roof you will have a recoverable water source that you won't have to worry about people scooping it up or placing blocks on it, you just may need to lower the roof a bit

okay so pretty much from what I know it's that someone used a silk touch pick on ice (because you can't place water in the nether) using silk touch gives you a full ice block, with that ice block you can turn it into water. And BAM water in the nether. Hope that clears it up for you.

To fix the issue with water in the enchanting room, you should create an infinite water source there instead. That way if anyone does use a bucket or something it will automatically refill.

I don't think filling up bottles actually removes the source block, so that's not a big deal. I think the suggestion was more about the fact that if you have an infinite water source in the nether, you don't have to be so scared about wasting your ice blocks =P

You can't place water from a bucket. It evaporates instantly. That's why he started the water source in the ceiling. You can't place water, so you have to let the water flow downhill to get it where you want.

Vintage beef had collected some ice in one of the 1.9 pre-releases, which you can't do now and Etho took some fro VB and used in the nether. SIMPLE
