Here's an idea for the Nexus: blow up a huge hole underground and then hang the Nexus in the middle of the cave. Then, to get to the Nexus itself, you have to walk across a bridge over a deep hole with either lava or something else on the bottom. Of course, I actually don't know what the Nexus' design is like, so I'm not sure if that would work out or not. If the Nexus is anything like your storage system at the Flower Forest, build just a control room hanging in the cave, and have minecart tracks on bridges leading into the control room from both sides of the cave. That could be simpler because you build a smaller hanging room, and you could hide all the chests behind the walls of the cave. Good luck, Etho, with the Nexus.

Yes, and when he walks into the cavern it is dark, but as he continues to walk lights come on (so it starts off with 0 lights, then 1 set, then 2 sets, then 3 sets, so on)

You could have villagers roaming the wheat fields to harvest them, and return to a bakery where they unload wheat/bread into hoppers (throwing to another villager). Would be a cool way to put the wheat fields to use and keep it all from staying fully grown.

Etho, if you stand in a Nether Portal, you can't access trades, chests, ext, so that way you can put name-tags and leads on adult villagers. Upvote to save Etho a LOT of trouble in the future.

I got a little idea for you Etho. I'm not sure how golem targeting works, but i assume when it gets its eye on a mob it will keep chasing it as long as its within a certain range. If so it would be possible to get the golems to target a mob, put that mob in a minecart and then watch the golem run around after it. This could look hilarious if the mob was below ground and the golem would just look like its running around :D You could make some spacial roads around your world and have golems just running around on them.

Etho there are benefits of having them underground and on the surface Underground you can hide redstone better and make it look like it's an underground secret or so. Surface- you can make a building with like elevators and things and make it all redstone like and such But it's your building so I would recommend building it in a place where you are more comfortable

Plus it would keep with that theme of caves and you could start a new place there, underground. Also why not create minecart rails from man cave to nexus? The possibilities are endless! Careful with the whole wheat thing... I know those ZIP Krowd guys made their entire spawn chunks into wheat fields to stop mob spawns. Only problem is that wheat is prone to Random Tick Updates, which lagged their server unnecessarily... Not sure if this will be a problem for you, but it's worth considering. :)

I seems like that was a MPS (multiplayer server) and single player and servers work kinda different from single player so it might not lag but like you said he should consider it but he did say it wasn't going to be like that for the whole biome so it might not be a problem at all

***** It wont really affect his world. It mainly affected the ZIP Krowd guys because they kept rendering chucks in full of wheat when ever they moved so was giving server lag. A whole field in single player full of wheat probably wont affect the world that much. :)

There's also no latency on singleplayer worlds so the random tick updates won't create any (network) lag, just increased CPU usage which Etho's computer can handle.

The wheat field would go a lot faster if you dragged some farmer villagers out there and threw some seeds at them. Just make sure they don't have any carrots or potatoes.

As long as your tilled ground is wet, it won't go back to dirt and the villagers will sow seeds behind you. They'll renew their seeds to by harvesting crops. When the field is done, kill the villagers. Or if you want, leave them for aesthetic purposes.

Heeey Etho. I think it would be sweet to see the Nexus be an above ground building. And by above ground, I mean ABOVE ground. Itemtotem cube is still the unchallenged god in this techniques - i would mention PI way before JL and Doc because those 2 are mostly just presenting what the Zipcrowd and Cube had come up with - nevertheless the Zipcrowd/Cube-combination always comes up with amazing stuff. Problem right now is to make the the machienes omnidirectional which is probaly just a matter of time/size

Maybe the nexus could be a semi secret room somewhere in the man cave, maybe Wilson could even guard/control it! Another option I think would be neat is if you submerge it in a mountain and the mountain could have beams randomly shoot out of it and occasional lava leaks that could be automated, with a secret passage to the cave, and maybe Wilson could guard that!

Spawn chunks stay loaded all the time and therefore he doesn't want the build in the spawn chunks because the lag from 700 hoppers running AT ALL TIMES would absolutely crush the server. He doesn't need to go that far to accomplish his desire, and depending on the build height ceiling (I think it's around 225), he may potentially be able to put the Nexus ABOVE the man cave; as long as it is 256 (or however many blocks high a chunk is) blocks above it, the chunk it's in may not be a spawn chunk. That would actually be awesome.

EthosLab Hey Etho, i think a red barn would fit nicely at the wheat field. Make it 2 story, in the first one put horse stables and maybe cow stables and in the second one spam hay bales to look like a place where you store wheat. Also in the swamp you could add mangroves and put sugar cane in the water to look like cattails.I'd like the Nexus to be above ground, maybe inside a mountain :). I think it should be built into Wilson. I like the idea of your base(wherever you want it) being networked by a mainframe computer and Wilson has the best AI ever. I also think your base should connect to something high up in the sky but not with a tall tower but maybe with a rocket you can take from your base up to it.

Etho, as far as I know, the iron golems still will suffocate in a block and drop their stuff. I used a gravel trap to kill them when I was playing the superflat survival challenge. If I was building a killer for your farm, i would consider using a minecart to pick up a golem and run him into a block to suffocate, with hoppers below the track to gather the drops. Also, for 'custom' trees, i've found that for a 'easy' way, I force oaks to grow into big trees, which are random enough to look good in most cases.

Hey Etho, love the vids, keep it up! Two suggestions: 1. For the tractor cabin, replace the glass at the very rear with red clay. It will make the cabin smaller, without ruining the look. 2. Leave the random gaps in the wheat field. It adds character to it as well as variety.

Etho, I think it would be cool if the Nexus was half above ground and half below ground. If the entrance is at ground level, it would only take half the time to get to the top or bottom. Also, you could do it in the end. Since it's basically void it would be less lag (I assume) than the overworld. The main problem with the end is deciding if you should build out of the main island and be cautious of falling off, or build it on the main island with all the enderman (and snowmen!).

I like the idea of putting the Nexus inside a mountain...like a top-secret global command center or something. Also, I love your tractor...RED like a tractor oughtta be (not green!) You could also do a hay field (all grass), or a cut hay field (no plants, just a 2x2x2 hay bale every so often). Rows of leaf blocks could pass as a field of soybeans.

Nexus in the end would be reasonably convenient, since no matter where he needs the materials he can quickly get back there just by setting his spawn. He could activate all the end portals too, to make it more convenient to get in. Still, setting spawn like that is probably a bit of a hassle. Also keeps it unloaded - good for lag.

Etho, will you ever consider playing Don't Starve again? It is an amazing game and has changed so much since you last did any videos on it. There is even the DLC "Reign of Giants." I know you have a lot of series going on right now, but many you could do it as a mini series.And if I'm correct, the last non Minecraft series you did was Terraria with Zisteau. Again, this is just a suggestion. I'm not trying to push you into anything.

EthosLab You should, in the theme of the biome enhancement project, build a farm. Along with windmills, you could build a barn, log cabin, and silo, as well as create a villager family to live on the farm. This would be cool if you're looking to go with a more rustic theme to the biome. Let me know your thoughts!

Hey etho, you should definitely build the nexus as a giant black cube built into the side of a giant mountain with one of the corners sticking out. This would also help with the terraforming thing if you had to make mountain. Keep being awesome.
