Tim and his team knocked it out of the park with this one. It came a long way from the lab samples he sent me. Also glad he chose to go with orange rather than blue like the first samples.

@stevenv9224 I couldn't believe how slick the sponge feels with it. I expected the same as other new ones. This was next level. Just wish it was slicker on the dry off, but that's what Ethos makes other products for.

Thank you! I now have 3 cameras I use. I started with a little action cam, then added the Osmo Pocket 3 which is great, but now use my high end Canon as well. (and sometimes my cell phone) As you mentioned, I am also working on the camera angles as I want to show the impact when doing the sides of the car and also the top down on the hood for side by side comparisons. Anyway, it is a work in progress and every video I see something I wish I did better, but thank you very much for the feedback!

Hi Mike, really enjoyed your review and how you keep things easy to understand for the enthusiasts! I agree with you 💯it could be tricky to understand the language on the ceramic and how it is used in it. I enjoyed the slickness of the contact Wash then followed it up with a drying aid. Ethos definitely hit a home run in my opinion!

Hi! I wanted to tell you that you do really good job when testing rinseless shampoos! I really love washing my car using rinseless method, and I hope I will see some of the products you've tested in Poland - we have just few of them, Gyeon, Optimum, DIY, P&S, McKeys, ArtDeShine, Carlab and Shiny Garage (last two are brands from Poland). I hope I will see this Ethos Hybrid in Poland soon - i really want to test :)

Hi Mike I’m in Canada at moment for Holiday and have ordered from CARZILLA geyon rinseless a bottle of DIY V2 and from Ethos have ordered a gallon to be delivered to UK with 2 Sponges after reading what Tim says about the sponges I knew I would be onto a winner with them over time , bit pricey to ship to 🇬🇧 but with my 20% discount worked out good value and probably only person in 🇬🇧with Ethos so might have to do a KZbin video 🙈 Andy

Hi Andy, I've completed my second weekly Ethos rinseless wash last Sunday. 🇬🇧 I can recommend that you soak the sponge for at least 24hrs in the solution after which it is super soft and works superbly. It's a fantastic product and sponge that cleans very well, enjoy.

Ethos is a top quality brand so I ordered the Hybrid wash and sponge on launch day and sucked up the huge shipping costs as a one off. Heartily wishing I'd got the gallon tbf. 🇬🇧

@edornelas7248 I'd have to say this one, Phoenix EOD V3, McKees V2, Gyeon, and a toss up between Hero and the Wolfgang SiO2. (That Wolfgang was so slick with the drying towel that I can't ignore it) I know the Hero work on road film because I tested it against Gyeon Bathe months back and haven't released the video.

I'm sure it will be on Amazon in about a month. Grab a bottle there and avoid some shipping expense. Honestly, all rinseless washes seem to work well, but depending n what you like, some are better than others. Use a bottle and if you like it, buy more.

I could be similar, but the marketing language used is different, so for all I know it's completely different. I have to say that the HERO scent in the bucket disappears after a day for me and the water smells nasty after just a few. The Ethos product smelled great even after 4 or 5 days and never started to smell nasty. I have used them at different times of the year, so maybe that's the reason.

Hey mike, would be really interested to see your thoughts on lake country's blue "grout sponge" which is only $5.99 (available at Detailed Image). i have tested it against "high quality" sponges like DIY's legacy sponge and in my opinion it works just as well and is safe for the paint. The Legacy sponge is nice quality foam but not sure if it warrants 5-6 times the cost. Anyways just a thought. Thanks for the video .

It's cheap enough but I remember being turned off by the photo of the foam. It just looked rough. May try it though before I coat the SUV and can look for marring.

So far so good. For this test I was only able to do a wash every other day, so I didn't have a 1 or 2 week build up. I'm working on a spray I can apply to simulate a build up of my bad conditions, but oil and water don't mix as they say.

Nice review. I was wondering about this particular rinseless wash as I saw that ETHOS had released their own version of a rinseless wash along with their hybrid sponge which looks almost just like The Rag Company's sponge, but apparently it's not the same sponge, but either a knock-off of The Rag Company's or a copy of the look of the design, although it seems to be a different density?. Some people complain The Rag Company sponge is TOO soft, although I bought it (TRC sponge because my Nissan 370Z paint is so darn soft. You barely look at the paint and it micromars. So I try to mitigate the micromaring I put onto the paint just in normal washing with as soft of a sponge as I could find or very thick and plush microfiber towels. Looks like this particular hybrid rinseless wash is a pretty good performer based on your testing. After a few days of washing it seemed to make the paint slicker which is interesting. Maybe the polymers in it or whatever they have in it gives a little protection each time you use it? ETHOS has really made a name for themselves in a very short time span over the past several years and Tim over there is always putting out great new products. Everything I have ever used from ETHOS is well worth the money. I use their hybrid waterless wash product for quick touch ups on my paint. Even after I wash my 370Z (and it's garage kept 24/7/365), it still seems to attract dust in the garage starting after a few days so the hybrid waterless wash quickly allows me to safely remove that dust from the surface before I take the car out for a drive. Looking forward to trying out this new product and sponge and I also want to try their new interior cleaning product called FRESH which is their new APC for interiors. Hey, thanks for the question. The Feynlab V3 is crazy, and the Sublime actually pulled dye out of my double flip towel. That said, any of the updated versions from this summer have had no problem cleaning and not staining my sponges or towels. Winter for me will be the true test of cleaning ability.

Car pro ech2o does work like this with sio2 ceramic in the product and leaves no protection but the shine is not comparable to any other I don’t know if you try it and smells good mint fresh and the price is on the low to medium and usability is phenomenon and you can mix it for different things like all the other rinse less products

@@Dias-v totally agree with you! On Carpros website it doesn’t say anything about long lasting protection. The si02 is in it for the gloss I believe. Mike G says the same thing in his review on it! There is no long term protection in it. It is and has been my favorite drying aid for years! The slickness and gloss are on another level!

how would you rank the sponge softness between the Legacy, Ultra Safe and Ethos sponges?

After using them all with this wash, I would give the Legacy a very slight edge over the Ethos, but only because it seems to hold more water and is larger. The Ethos sponge did get softer after a few days, and I really like how the smaller cuts work and how you don't catch the little edges on your wiper arms. I would have to test more to be sure though, but I do like the ethos over the ultra safe sponge.

I’m looking to get my first rinseless wash product and set of accessories. Was originally going to buy Hero, then thought of getting DIY Detail Rinseless v2, and this review has me thinking I should just get this combo with the sponge. I detail my car outside as I don’t have an indoor garage to do it in. What would you recommend if you could only get one? (I also considered hydra v3)

I haven't been able to test this against a lot of dirt or in the winter, but I personally right now would spend my money on either the Phoenix EOD V3, the McKees V2, or the Ethos. If you are looking for a product that adds a bit of protection, the Gyeon is fantastic, as is the Angelwax, though the Angelwax needs a specific wash method used so your aren't spending a lot of money on product.

Phoenix EOD V3 would be my choice. It's probably available on Amazon right now, is slick enough on the wash, does well cleaning, AND it feels a bit slick even with a drying towel. (Slicker than the Ethos to me) I wish Phoenix EOD and Ethos were available through distributors because then you could grab other drying towels, sponges, etc. I would recommend either the Ethos or DIY sponge. Just my personal opinion at this point.

How well does the Ethos Hybrid rinseless release the dirt when you dunk the wash media in the bucket?

Since I was using the blue towels I really couldn't tell much, plus I was washing every other day, so the car wasn't very dirty. More tons of dust and debris as I live on a main road. (less of the road grime from highway travel in the rain) I plan on testing all these rinseless washes in the winter as well, since some that do well in the summer didn't work so well in the winter. Also trying to create a mix that I can spray on the car that would mimic that nasty stuff I get on my car in the winter. Will try to update though when I use it with some of the bright green towels and more dirt.
