Etho MindCrack SMP - Episode 133: Worker Shack

Today we work at setting up a simple little building to house the supplies and other things needed to help expedite building of the pvp arena. Then we fight the wither... under water! Apologies again for the loud wither sounds, I forgot to shush him before the fight.

Fight the wither on a five blocks deep platform high up in the air!!! (high enough to kill you if you fall). The wither will make holes in the ground as the battle progresses and make it harder for you if you don't end it quickly! Good luck if you choose this!

Etho, you should fight the wither up super high, make a 50x50 (or whatever) platform to move around on. This will be interesting because the wither will break the blocks around you, so you have to watch out.

he already fought the wither underground technically when him, beef, and pause killed the one at pause' base. also fighting in a boat wouldnt work wouldnt it just explode on the first time he gets hit? so it would be the same as the fight we just saw pretty much.

Hi Etho, you should fight a wither at Zisteau's new home. You still need to get him back for framing you for all those E pranks. And then, you can hire him to patch the wither damage, since he is the Ender Repair Guy.

Etho you should make like a passageway from one side of the map to the other side but under the map. I think that Would be a cool strategic idea for flanking.

Etho, you should have buttons that enable different beacon effects with a piston holding a block above the beacon. Stuff like resistance, speed, and jump boost would be fun. Getting the beacons would stink but maybe you can have some of the other guys help you in a way. Idk. Just a little idea.

How about a Joust: get the Wither in a minecart (someone had a tutorial on it, Panda IIRC), set up two tracks and duel to the death! Alternatively, One-Handed: Do not use WADS. Select items with scroll wheel only. Use of mid-size buildings, fishing rods or other trickery is acceptable. Only applies once Wither is finished summoning.

Splash an invisibility potion on him! You'll be able to see him when he's below half health (the shield thing is visible) and I think you'll still be able to see the projectiles!

Etho, I think that you should also use the worker shack as a safe house/recovery centre for the PVP games. You can put a healing beacon in the centre of the house, with glass on both the second-storey floor and the roof to allow the beacon to connect to the sky. Then on the second floor you could put a bunch of beds, healing potions, golden apples, food... everything you'd need to recover, like a hospital. It would be really cool and it would justify the size of your house, and you could keep it because it would still have a purpose even after you've finished all the building. The problem here is that Jsano19 is building a hospital already, and he would most likely be less than happy to see Etho crank out a Hospital in place of his. Good idea, though!

Jman3417 True, but it doesn't have to be a general purpose hospital in the same style as Jsano's. This "shack" is specifically oriented towards Etho's PVP arena. So it makes sense to have things that assist people in playing PVP. One of those things is healing. He doesn't have to call it a hospital, he can call it whatever he wants. But he's built a house with an odd design, so he can easily incorporate a beacon into it, he's not sure what to put on the second floor, and I think this would perfectly fit in. Not only that, but he has *just got* a Nether star for a beacon.

Etho it's not a driver problem, it's a recurring problem with the two conflicting potions of night vision and underwater breathing. Happened to PauseUnpause after Generikb pranked him with that squid in his hole.

yeah, I've had this experience too. I put on a helmet that had respiration on it so I could see underwater, but it was only marginally helpful, so I put on nightvision as well. It was going okay and then all the sudden everything went black. I took my helm off and never had that problem again.

Hello dear Etho. I enjoy watching you build however there has been something about it that has been bugging me for quite some time but i was never able to quite put my finger on it. However as i was taking a big sh*t the other day i finally realized what it was. It was the lack of curves. The curvature of the EthoCorp building was what made it look really good. Your newer buildings have no curves what so ever, instead favoring a more traditional '' pointy '' style which most people think looks quite a lot worse than curved ones. Even science agrees with me for once saying that the human brain favors curves when it comes to architecture. No one knows why but it does. So please Etho, take this into account when building the great city of Ethopia!

The black screen came from the night vision potion. It happened to me too and that was the only potion I was using at the time. It only happens when I use night vision.

Etho I'm pretty sure that a potion of water breathing already makes it easier to see underwater. Like it already brightens it. So your potion of night vision brightens it more and makes it seem all whitish.

i actually love the dark oak wood, its now my new favorite block. and im loving the house, meh on the roof wood, but looks great. maybe a over hang on the sides for the roof. love the white glass windows too.

The screen going black is an issue with the night vision potion. When there is supposed to be no light, and you have only night vision the screen sometimes goes black. This does not happen when there is some light in the area you are in. The black screen is fixed with a lighting update. -Compliments of Vine

Etho, when your screen went black I believe that was the night vision potion. I was working on a custom map using night vision potions on the snapshot and that kept happening. I found that it fixes when you experience a non-zero light level, so like placing a torch or in your case swimming up. I thought it was fixed but I guess it wasn't.

The thing with your screen going black is an issue is with the night vision potions. I saw this with Xisuma and Mumbo Jumbo on the Hermit Craft server. They discovered that a lighting update will fix it.

I think with the Worker Shack thing, you said something about a high pillar that would give you different angles to look out at the arena at, well i thought that you could extend the second floor all the way around the map. You could have basically a raised walkway ( Like the walkways that connect the towers of a castle ) that goes all the way around the arena and also provides the wall of the arena itself. Now on how to design the Shack, you could have the second story, openings on both sides that lead to the Walkway, and your portal dead center looking out of the main window. This idea would mean that the house would have immediate access to the arena. So you could put up a large wall of glass panes in front of the Shack in and half oval shape that would connect to the wall. This would also mean that access to the front of the house would be cut off, no. You could have openings in the Wall ( Directly next to the Shack ) that led to the area closed off by the glass pane wall in front of the Shack. That sounds extravagant I know so its just an idea. I made it sound more complicated than it actually is. You'd make it work. Contact me and I would be happy to send you plans so you further understand the concept. Stupid me I know.

Etho, the dark effect is a glitch from the nightvision potion. I watched Xsiuma do some ABBA caving and he experienced it when he drank nightvision potions. The only way to correct it I believe is a light update,

make a HUGE one layer platform of useless materials(dirt, Netherrack, etc) and fight the wither..also, set off TNT every once in a while to destroy part of the platform to make it more challenging! :)

You should make a new cow farm/pit out in the middle of nowhere and fight it in the middle of the cow pit. This would make it kinda crazy to try fighting since shots won't be directed right at you, but all over the place, making the cow pit sink deeper into the ground as you fight. Also, you get to harvest free leather, too, so it's a 2 for 1. lol

Fight the wither on a 1 block thick platform that is 25x25 blocks (maybe less depending on how much of a challenge you want) Make the platform high enough in the air that if you fall off you will certainly die.

So you need 5 beacons and you have Kakashi as avatar So I think you should fight each of the withers in all of the Japanese elements. So water, fire, air, earth and void. You done water so pick one of the other elements for next fight.

Fight the wither.... UNDER LAVA. This is sort of a stupid challenge, but you can use a fire resistance and fight him under a pit of lava in the nether. I think it might be kind of cool..... may need to let him get away for the reward though...

I think you should do a Wither fight on the tree tops of a Jungle. It would be interesting because the Wither would blow up the tree tops and you would have to jump to others ones to avoid falling to your death :D

(Got this idea from reading the comments) You should fight a wither while trying to kill someone in the death games. (Hard to do, because you have to find someone mining sand or in a lonely place with no houses/builds)

Etho I have an idea for a fast respawn. Have 2 beds one for each team. Using the bed mechanics you can move players to a certain block ( your boat parachute spawn in your SSP ) make them land on a pressure plate that dispenses their class ( diffrent classes will need separate beds...)

You next wither fight should be in Dinnerbone mode. You should select the flip filter to make the world upside down and then name the wither Dinnerbone so that you both look normal whilst the world is flipped.

Hey Etho you should fight the wither on the top of the nether via Docm77 entrance and then only use the death games sword bow and armor but use all the potions you need. (you could make it more fun by having it so the wither's name pops up in the death games so you need to kill him. Good episode :D

Fight the Wither on the top of the nether (Docm made a hole to it), using the "Dinnerbone" Shader, plain Iron Armor, a Stone Sword (Customize to your liking), and a Power II Bow. (You can use potions as you need them.)

To be honest if you trapped a Wither in, with good armour that wouldn't be a challenge considering how quickly you can kill it with a sword.

You fought Wither at End Realm and under water. I think next on should be at Nether, it can be really dangerous because of the netheracks low resistance of explosion, so you can easily fall on lava. But i still suggest you fight the next wither at the Nether.

"No coal, so no torches." - Etho, in the middle of a forest. Turn a few trees into charcoal, that should give you some stacks of torches. Probably faster and easier than checking every hole in the ground for some coal anyway too, especially since you already cut down the trees.

Do your next wither fight in a plains biome, riding a saddled pig in a minecart while using the upside-down filter and having a "Dinnerbone" nametag on the wither. Oh, also use f5 to get the third person back view :d GL

You should make the wither chase you and then kill it using lots of different traps like TNT traps, anvil traps, arrow dispenser traps you could even drop some creepers on it and make them explode. You are not allowed to use any potions except for a single regeneration potion though.

How about on a platform in the sky? The platform would have to be about 30 by 30 at least I'm guessing, so I don't know if you will... The challenging part would be the fact that The Wither can destroy blocks, so you would have to watch out for holes! Just a random idea I just had...

Z is also looking for a beacon and i thought it would be a good idea if you fight it together hovering over a giant pool of lava in the nether, on a 20x20x5 area of netherrack with no potions except healing, speed, strength and regen

My Suggestion is to fight the wither In a masa biome as you will collect a lot of clay and it will be cool as he will brake them easy. This is ovcouse if the other players don't mind there being a hole on the masa or if it escapes then patches on top.

Thanks to you, I can speek english the way I can (witch is not very good btw). It's pretty wierd 'couse I haven't seen you, I don't know you but in some way I fell in love with you. Etho, you should make the worker shop in the Arena as a permanent building like combat town. You could also put your stone smelting in another building as a foundry, build an Inn for people who are working on the project to sleep in, a restaurant like the chicken hut at spawn, maybe a warehouse for storing all your supplies. That would make for an interesting map and it would be even cooler because you used it while you were building.

You should fight the wither in F5 mode, on a horse, in a mesa biome, and wearing one piece of your choice from the death games set

For the next wither fight... Find a high health slowish horse put diamond horse armor and slowness potion on it. Ride that horse for the battle while YOU wearing the BEST armor set you can get. Enchantments---Sword: Sharpness 3 knockback 2 Bow: Power 5 Punch 2! Also you can you whatever buffs you want on horse + you! (Horse CAN die so that's why its a sucky horse :D)

I saw that black screen glitch in a video between xisuma and mumbo, its a lighting update glitch w/ potion of night vision. Just provide a lighting update (ie place torch, pick it back up in case it happens again). I also assume that this is a new bug and will hopefully be fixed as the new rendering engine improves :)

Try fighting the Wither in the Nether.I once did it, and it's harder than you'll through.In the Nether, with ghosts around, on a 10x10 skuare platform from obsidian, in a sea of lava...very hard.But still possible, with the correct enchantments, and I want to see how you'll do it.

Etho i know what is with the issue of the black screen. Its a bug in 1.7 that if you drink night vision and you are in a dark place the screen will get totally black if you see normal light the problem will stop. Its very anoying.

Bow fight won't work when the wither goes to sword mode... Instead, use "Invert mouse" and the flip shader!

Etho you should make a large map of the arena on one on the walls in your house for the arena i think this would look really cool kinda like in your lp world. Really like the stuff you make keep up the great work love the show

Etho, you should do a spleef (dont know if thats how you spell it) like fight where youre high in the sky on a large-ish platform and you get maybe a few mindcrackers to help fight, and it adds some fun to it as youre playing spleef with a wither! Would love to see that, so hope you like the idea and do it :)

Etho, get some fire resist potions and spawn the wither under lava in the nether and have a lava fight. U don't have to stay under the lava, just spawn him under it

Olá Etho. I love what you've been doing. Would it be defying fight a Wither near an active spawner, any kind will do, but in separated rooms and linked by a tunnel so monsters keep spawning. Just be careful with your stuff, you don't want to see zombies walking with you steak around. eheh You should invite Zisteau, he his too looking forward to have a beacon. Kill two bats with one arrow and fight 2 wither together ;)

It's ok, it's a tough time for almost everybody, but you don't need to make it even more difficult for others bulling them around, even if it's on the internet. Take those feelings and put them in something worth it, like art, not at pointing at others mistakes, leave that for the old grumpy grandpas, they at least have the experience. Is not that hard to press a like/comment only in anything you like and ignore the rest is it?

Etho, how about.... Fighting the Wither with an enchanted fish named, "Slap Fish"... And you can only fight in a sealed off, stained glass, 12 long x 28 wide x 15 tall, fish tank...

I don't think you can enchant fish, and the wither would just bust out of the glass tank.

RefinedRytho You can enchant fish indirectly, meaning putting them on an anvil and combining them with an enchanted book. And the glass wouldn't break if you placed the Wither in the center, the blast symbolizing his awakening, and the following exploding heads would be neutralized by the water in the sealed off fish tank. I was very vague with my instruction, and I apologize for any confusion.

Etho.. You can fight the Wither either in Nether or The End... Challenge being try to not to get killed by the Ghast in the nether and endermen when fighting the wither.
