3rd Life #4: Fanning The Flames

3rd Life is a Minecraft multiplayer server experiment started by Grian. Players are thrown into a tiny 700x700 world with almost no rules, except survive as long as possible.
1st Life: Player names are green. They are not supposed to initiate battle with anyone, only defend.
2nd Life: Same as 1st Life, except their names are yellow.
3rd Life: Player names are red. They get a new goal of eliminating the remaining players. Dying again means they are out of the game and series.

@@KingArthurDent probably because Gmail was one of their early ways of pulling ahead of Bing and Yahoo, so they had to make it good and haven't had much need/opportunity to ruin the spam filter there. They got KZbin when it was decent, improved it until they were certain they had no competition, then started running it into the ground. The bot filter was already pretty dodgy because there was less obvious tells than in emails, and because it was a botted channel just needs to have some legitimate comments to make it "seem real", and google made it worse when they made the word filter (the one that deletes comments based on certain words and potential context), so now the system is useless. (Pretty sure it also got mucked about with when China's social credit system got introduced because when a population that large starts parroting government propoganda, it looks like a swarm of bots [plus there's a lot of Chinese government bots that are on here and banning them would lose google it's favourite source of revenue]).

@@theapexsurvivor9538 to be fair.... spam detection isnt easy (I actually work in spam detection for something else). now imagine if google/youtube bans an account by mistake because they were _too_ safe. Then the news headlines will say "google bans account for no reason". its not a good look. so some times false negatives pass through and thats what we see. imagine all the bots we DONT see. For instance, in my team, we catch something like 90% of spammy content. no one even knows. spam detection is something users wont notice if we're doing our job well. but as soon as one thing slips through we get angry emails. what they dont see is EVERYTHING we catch and dont show. if we let all that through, ohhh boy it would be a proper mess Also i assume if an account gets a lot of reports within some period of time, then it will trigger some alarm in their system lol. maybe its too spread out. imagine if people started to randomly report you as spam. it wouldnt be great. and if they were to quickly ban you in the first 5 reports, that would be bad for everyone involved tldr: spam detection is hard.

@@cherrydragon3120 Cleo has been quite mischievous and a large part of driving the story forward in her first few episodes with stealing Pizza, I don’t see her as a mom at all because she wanted to do more things like that and it was Bdubs who was “acting like a dad” (not really) trying to hold her back til he decided to embrace her naughty side and encouraged her chaotic nature. (Although I do agree that Bdubs acts like a child a lot of the time, especially with Etho, Bdubs’ dynamic with Cleo is more of a love/hate partnership between an established couple. It’s okay to disagree though! I’m having just as much fun watching 3rd Life as I imagine you are. :)
