Wiha pliers: then vs now - review & unboxing | Etna.

Wiha pliers are top of the game in terms of quality. Or are they still? After having unboxed some pliers, I am not so sure anymore.

So the German made nippers are actually made by Schmitz for Wiha. Schmitz also makes some of the electronics specialty pliers/cutters for Knipex as well. They never disappoint.

Never disappoint? Obviously you haven't compared them to Tsunoda or others if you're using them as a standard

@@htr5372 I have, actually. I own plenty of other brands including Tsunoda and Fujiya. I stand by what I said. Not to mention neither of those companies makes the specialized tools Schmitz does.

@@Etna. Not all Knipex precision pliers are made by them either, only certain pliers. They're an manufacturer who also sells separately, quality is debatable. It's like Knipex contracting out and rebranding their locking pliers

I thought i was a Knipex guy, but after i tried Witte i am little confused. Never had a chance to use Wiha pliers. Recently, I used a Wiha bit driver, from softfinish series. It was made in Poland and it feels some how cheap. Yes, it did the job, but....

Wiha outsources most of their hand tools to Vietnam or Poland now. The quality isn't there

I honestly couldn't care for Wiha pliers, their quality control on their Vietnamese pliers isn't there. Not to mention there's lots of other alternatives. Wiha at one point made their pliers in Switzerland and Germany
