Hey! You can keep the S-meter & display backlight on by holding down the “Light/Snooze” button until you hear a beep …

Try to plug in a CCrane twin coil ferrite antenna into the external AM antenna on the existing rotating antenna ant you WILL WANT TO DEMONSTRATE AM ONLY IN A FUTURE VIDEO! It performs better this way. Best AM signals from this tandem that I ever heard!

I have the Grundig Sat 800 and Yes its a fabulous receiver. You can pick them up on Facebook and Kijiji sometimes. I was able to get mine from a HAM operator at a fabulous price. The Sat 800 is certainly an older radio but its sound quality and performance overall is much better in my opinion than the Sat 750. I really liked your video. Keep them coming. I use my Sat 750 on a MLA-30 Loop antenna which is night and day compared to using the radios internal antenna. Nice representation video of the Eton Sat 750.

Hey Daniel I totally agree that the Sat 800 is a lot better but i got this radio free for a present. I ordered a loup antenna for it. Will make another video. Your short wave buddy Marc.

@@marcouellet1420 Hi Marc, Oh, don't get me wrong. I also have a Eton Sat 750. I use it all the time and its one of my go to radios for a lot of reasons. I was just agreeing with you that it has its problems and is a very expensive radio considering its list of faults. What parts are you from? I'm in New Brunswick, Canada. Be well.

Its a nice radio and I have one. I actually use this radio quite a bit, however, it does have its issues. In my own opinion, the big problem is the price. For the money you pay this receiver should perform much, much better than it actually does. Basically, the cost is unacceptable. You can purchase a much better receiver for the same price. It certainly has its Cool factor and it works half decent.

I own one of these “Eton Elite 750’s” and *love* it. The main “deficiency” is twofold: It only has 2 filters; and the wide filter is too wide. Other than that, the thing is *great*. The “Narrow” filter is well shaped with good slopes. Also, it appears to switch to a different narrow filter for SSB. And the SSB reception on this radio is much better than with the modern Tecsuns’ using the DSP chip. The “splatter” effect that those radios display does not appear on this radio when copying SSB. While not indicated on the front panel, the ATS scanning mode works for SW on this iteration of the radio; and it expands to 100 stations for SW. When using this, it will store found stations in memory bank “00”; you then use the main tuning knob to step through the found stations. Memory bank “00” is written over every time the ATS function is engaged. I have Memory bank “01” programmed for my favorite AM/FM stations; bank “02” for the WWV stations (to check propagation); “03” for the start of all the ham bands; and “04” for the 40 CB Channels. It’s a lot of fun and worth the price IMO. (BTW, funny you should mention the DX-300 - my unit replaced a old RS DX-302.) Oh … I should mention that I use an external MLA-30+ antenna; and I bring attenuation down one step prior to ATS SW scans in order to eliminate QRM from showing up in the scan as found stations. Following the scan I return the attenuation to normal.

@@lovetheblue6659 I own a DX 300 and its still in mint condition. I was able to find an old Panasonic RF4800 a few months ago. I love old radios. I certainly agree with you regarding the Eton Sat 750's issues. I have the Sat 750 and I certainly like this radio; however, for the price you pay in Canada for this thing you would think Eton would have paid more attention to the the details. The Tecsun H 501X receiver is around the same price or less and is a much, much better performer. Be well.

@@lovetheblue6659 I love this radio. It is expensive. Thank you so much for all the great info. I will never use this radio for all it's capabilities. I have nothing program in memory. I enjoy finding diffferent stations on the cuff. I have ordered a loop antenna and i will be giving a demo on it.

Hello, is this a good device or not? The device was made in 2008. Please respond. Thank you❤🎉@@marcouellet1420

@@user-pz4cn2zr9q While the initial Grundig 750 was made then, the Elite 750 can be considered an updated version of it circa 2020. It has many internal/external improvements including SW ATS scan with an expanded Page 00 and better overall external construction (including the knobs which were notorious for breaking on prior models). The main deficiency at this point is that it only includes two bandwidth filters, and the “Wide” setting is too wide. In fact it will even display the frequency wrong in the Wide setting. Fortunately, the “Narrow” filter is very good with steep slope characteristics. So you will pretty much just have to keep the radio in the “Narrow” setting most of the time. The engineers of the radio seem to know this, as whenever an ATS scan is activated, the radio will automatically switch to the “Narrow” filter for the scan. The radio features really good “old timey” SSB reception enhanced by a true variable BFO and a variable RF gain control. Although the BFO has to be tuned very precisely, it’s possible to copy very clear SSB with this radio without the “splatter” that accompanies the modern DSP-based radios. I use this radio as a “Desktop” and run it with various outdoor antennas. I have a lot of fun with this radio and give it an 8 out of 10. Should they ever fix the Wide filter issue and/or provide additional filters, I would up it to a 9 out of 10.

My problem with it is that I can’t shut off the beep sound if I want to lay in bed even with with headphones on it will beep through the radio during every key or band change not sure if it doesn’t have that feature or if I just can’t figure it out.
