Hello. For question 4a, is the word "orbit" a need in my answers? Or can I also simply say: 1. It follows an equatorial orbit. 2. Travels from west to east. 3. Time period is 24 hours.

yes orbit is needed because it shows the circular path of the satellite.

How do I know which P goes in the numerator/denominator?

It doesn't matter, the question should inform you the denominator and numerator. Also. 10lg(a/b) = -10lg(b/a) so they are essentially the same. the negative sign informs you which signal Power is larger.
