I'm so confused with some of these plays. The players hated on each other pretty equally despite Andrew or (more often then not) Adam needing the most attention in terms of attacking and removal. 🤔😕

I don't understand Scott's plays this game, recasting Akiri into a known Fleshbag Marauder or outright refusing to play Tymna when their were plenty of times he could of got in and draw extra cards to try and manage the board.

Phased out creatures phase in at the start of the controller's next turn. Not sure why Peter's creature phased in early.

I was going to say this. Phasing in happens before cards untapped during the untap step. I really don't thing it affected the game that much though.

What I cant understand is Peter tutoring for nonland cards while he was stuck at 3 lands and didnt have land drops. He had the perfrct oportunity to set his draws with lim duls vault but decided to keep a baleful strix (that also didnt draw into a land)

Scott's deck runs a lot of graveyard recursion, so I don't think he'd want to lock himself out of it. RiP usually finds a place in Stax decks.

I'm confused how Adam got the fleshbag back the turn Meren came into play and then the next when it has zero and then only 1 experience counter? Doesn't the cmc of the creature have to be less than?

Meren will always return to hand whatever creature you want. You only need experience counters to bring something to the battlefield.

I'm here becuase I just built my first Meren deck. I noticed that the Meren player should have gained 6 life when attacking with the wurmcoil engine. They missed out.

I am almost positive that is not how phasing works. I believe, if he phases it out, it does not phase back in until his turn before his untap step. I am almost positive of it.

You might be right! This was the first time I think the whole table had come across phasing. I know we got the part where it doesn't leave the battlefield right, but I guess we got it wrong when it comes back.

At the risk of sounding stupid I'll ask this question, isn't it an illegal move to add a card with higher cmc than the number of experience counters you have to your hand at the end of the turn? Talking about meren btw.

Not a stupid question at all, but the card text itself explains how her ability works: "At the beginning of your end step, choose target creature card in your graveyard. If that card’s mana value is less than or equal to the number of experience counters you have, return it to the battlefield. Otherwise, put it into your hand." So you hit your end step, and target a creature in your graveyard. The game then checks your XP counters versus the CMC of the creature you targeted. Depending on the outcome of that check, the card returns to play or is returned to your hand.

Meren's return to hand happens regardless of how many experience counters she has. The ability to put it onto the battlefield cares.

You can take a creature out of the graveyard without exp counters on yor end step, you can put it into play with counters

Adam is not only a lowly Meren player, but also brought back the Sun Titan again with Puppeteer Clique when sun Titan should have been exiled. I definitely see that changing the outcome.

Puppeteer Clique was severely misused this game. The creature it brings back gets exiled at the next end step. Edit: Nevermind. I misremembered Puppeteer Clique. It states "at the beginning of *your* next end step", so it was played correctly. My mistake. Call it excessive aggro towards a Meren player because that commander is silly.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. We played it appropriately. If the creature dies before the end step, you don't exile it. It's only exiled if it makes it to the end of turn, which is when the trigger goes onto the stack to exile it.

Peter playing Erata into nothing 3 turns in a row, and then Scott taking out Peter instead of swinging at Adam is just laughable. Yall did not deserve to win verse that Meren deck. Adam was 100% the best player on the day. Why was this game even uploaded??? I love your stuff usually Muddstah, but this was peak cringe to watch!
