Possibly but it could also be a trick on the trees part to make it look that way through the trees memories. It never shows up in many sequels and it is a major part of the story

This Stratum makes me feel really bad. I was born in a great metropolis, grew with the skyscrapers and was always proud of the creativity of human. However, everything of my world becomes the relic in this stratum. I can understand how sad Ricky was feeling when she saw everything is gone. I can't image what happened to this city and the people who lived here.. I played EO4 before and never know that the original game of the series is so dark. I am wondering whether I can play the 6th Stratum :(

Spoilers I guess. Game's old, but still: I still want to know exactly how that pollution apocalypse happened. According to the EO wiki it wasn't nukes, but the backstory does imply resource wars. So how'd this apocalypse happen? What brought everything to a point where crazy shit like Yggdrasil, Gungnir etc. had to be made? Climate change? Volcanic eruption on the scale of Yellowstone? Extinction-level meteor impact?

It's a remake of EO1 not a sequel. They've just put a bit more storytelling in it and expanded on it more- and to be fair, 1's telling of its story is pretty non-existent until a plot dump at the end. There are two modes, Classic, which is playing EO1 without the story expansions and just using the new game mechanics (the old art assets are used, the class portraits have not been revised); and Story, which is the expanded story with a fixed party (fixed in character, you can change their jobs).

I'd say it's not a spoiler because they're not trying to hide it from the player anymore in this game. You are pretty bluntly shown the nature of EO1's world right out of the gate and even the trailers show off Shinjuku. They've pretty clearly decided it wasn't huge enough of a deal to use as a big reveal. To be fair, nothing really comes from the revelation even in the original anyway- nobody's swayed by this fact, it's just "Okay, whatever. We're still gonna stab you in the face."

I just hope Primevil's new theme also plays for Ur-Child and he Abyssal God. I also hope an EO5 and 6 get done. In fact, I REALLY want EO5 to be a horror-themed game, as EO knows how to strike the emotion of fear into the player's heart. Plus, I loved the living shit out of EO4's hall of Darkness.

It's without a doubt one of my favorite stratum themes in the series and i LOVE it but... I hate the map design for this stratum in EOU, it's nothing more than a giant maze without gimmick (sorry but for me, elevators are nothing more than stairs) except the fact that you walk here for hours in order to be sure not to miss anything.

It might be a bit of trek to find EOU2 and EO4 depending on where you live, but you'll likely find them at a Gamestop-like store. EO1, 2, and 3 however are going to be much harder to find, so I can't help you there.

You can check on Gamestop's website to see if there's any copy's near you where you live. If a store that has it, call the store and tell them to hold it. I've had a game sniped from because I didn't tell them to hold it before, it's not fun.
