It used to play fine in low settings with my 3rd gen i5 with HD4000 about 5 years ago. Today it's just unplayable in the same computer. It was about time to update the requirements, the min specs are very generous with the current engine.

From the release of Road to the black sea, Intel hd 4000 + i5 processor (unless if you have the more recent i5 class) won't be enough even with the 4 GB of RAM

The new recommended CPUs suggests the new engine can take advantage of up to 6 threads. Hopefully this means better performance in cities and denser traffic etc.

I'm sorry. But UserBenchmark shouldn't be used as the main site to compare. There are many sites or youtube channels that compares them better. The reason why i advise you not to, is because UserBenchmark is long-known to be Intel and NVidia biased, and hates AMD a lot

The game is poorly optimized. I get no lag in New Mexico or eastern Texas, but everytime I get near El Paso the game stutters. I heard its because the game only runs on one core, which is completely stupid. I hope this update changes that.

to be fair, the game itself is not same as it was 11 years ago. Back in the day I had laptop with 610m and the ETS 2 ran like in 30fps on 768p and I think after Road to the Black Sea I had performance issues in Turkey when I entered to the city. Right now I have laptop with GTX 1050 and I am playing on 1080p medium and have stable 60fps with Promods, but I guess when game engine (which is amazing to last all these years) is updated I will have to low my settings which I am fine with. Even this minimum requirements are pretty much ok and I would dare to say that they are pretty much low compared to other games which are releasing now or released in past couple of years. Of course, I guess there are going to be mods to get more performance, but SCS should think about implementing FSR (DLSS so so) which is the game changer.

The weird thing is that I am playing ETS 2 on high settings with 0 issues (my FPS os locked to 50 and drops a bit only on rare occasions) and my PC is a complete potato with Ryzen 3 2300X processor, NVIDIA GeForce 1050 Ti and 8 GB RAM. I will get new Graphics Card and Ryzen 5 just in case but I believe my current PC can handle the game at least on medium even after thebupdate.

Becuase u are not using much heavy mods play ats with heavy truck mods my pc struggling for life while playing ets2 i can easily maintian 70 fps everything on ultra with png and jbx graphics and some other graphics mods 😂😂

@@notsure2211 I use winter mod right now and still my fps sits at 50 and the game runns smooth. The only time my fps drops is when driving through heavily forested area and there are a lot of three shadows.

@@Jepson07 I used to play on one monitor, then moved to three monitors, Open Track, PS3 Eye cam with visible light filter and a cap with LEDs for head tracking. When I moved to VR, I never came back to playing on monitor. Same for sim racing games. It's way better and more natural. It's amazing that you can look around with just your head and have your hands on the wheel like you'd do in real life. I have Thrustmaster T300RS GT. As for VR, I have HP Reverb G2 V2. After I bought the VR headset, at first I wondered if I should return it, as I was getting motion sick after 20 minutes, but you just need to get used to it. At first I watched some tv shows and movies using free Bigscreen app. I got used to just being in VR stationary. Then I moved to some games in which you don't move, like Beat Saber, Prison Boss VR and similar experiences. When you get used to that, you move to games where you move using teleport. Then you can take a hybrid approach - like in Half-Life: Alyx you can use teleport and smooth moving, so I used teleport for traveling high distances and smooth moving to slowly go around rooms. At this point (I have almost 400 hours in VR) I can play without breaks for 6-10 hours without issues, especially in sitting games like ETS2 or ATS. I could easily play without issues for a few hours when I hit around 70-100 hours in VR. Now I play racing games and games like ETS2 or ATS exclusively in VR, as you can see all the small details in your truck in 3D instead of flat projection, you can look around through windows when you drive next to some interesting POIs without taking your hands from the wheel, you can feel the speed and distance better and you can turn all UI off and just use your truck dashboard with all the gauges and physical GPS for navigation. It's just so much more immersive. But like I said, you need to get used to VR first and every person needs different amount of time for that. My mom is a great example of fast adaptation. She just played for a bit in Google Maps VR and next time I gave her modded Assetto Corsa with tropical island to drive around and she loved it and didn't get motions sick. My friend could drive without issues but flying games like Elite: Dangerous were making him motion sick until he got used to it. Everyone is different, but everyone can get used to it, as it was proven many many times. I don't get motion sick in VR anymore at all.

@@Phantosh I have but Raytracing isnt THAT demanding especially since the game easily runs in 100+ Fps on even the 3060 Even the 3060Ti runs Cyberpunk on WQHD with Raytracing with more than 60FPS. I highly doubt that you will have issues in a game that runs on every modern gaming pc like ETS2. Even a 1050 still runs this game ^^

Not really, but probably dont expect the best graphics settings. You should be totally able to still run the game on medium. But your CPU is kinda old, definitely recommend upgrading to a newer platform since with yours it could probably be troublesome in bigger cities. You dont have to buy the best of the best of course! I can actually recommend to buy the middle class hardware. I always did that and you get a lot of Performance for a fair price. I had a GTX 1060 since it came out a few years ago and it served me till 2022. It still ran ETS2 completely fine and it wasnt that expensive.

If you're struggling now you will most likely struggle later unless you get from under that i5 4570 and 1050ti. You'll need a faster CPU than your current platform. As for GPU a 1660s/ti or a 580 are the nearest cheapest routes, both are doable if you're lucky but honestly it's time for an upgrade. I know because I've been there too.

Your cpu is on a weaker side... GPU is better than minimum. If it runs good now, it should run just fine. But can't tell what will happen after new game engine.

After all, Each map DLC has slowly become more and more detailed and demanding so you could've seen this coming.

Had to take a spare stick to my local pc store who have the parts on order but the mail service is taking forever. Plus would have been nice to have a early heads up from the ets 2 official channel. (they have a yt channel that publishes the smaller updates)
