BY FAR the clearest presentation out there. BUT, being an old-timer I'm still not able to get this going. I have my Etsy Banner from Canva but I can't figure out how to transfer it to Google docs to get the process started. Whenever I try to open and load the file is unacceptable. Hi Brenda! That is a risk we take as digital sellers, unfortunately. However, whether its the link or the actual design itself, customers can potentially share that with anyone they want. I try to have clear terms of use on my stores so that they understand that file sharing is not allowed with their purchase.

With digital products there is always risk of file sharing. I always advise putting clear policies in your shop but there is no way to know for sure when you are selling a digital item online no matter how it is packaged up.

All excellent questions! I am not employed with Etsy so I don’t want to spread false information. However, I have been a designer who sells on the platform and other platforms for quite some time. Here are my personal opinions: 1. There is no real way to prevent this. Just like people will steal from Walmart or Target no matter what they do to discourage it. It is unfair but apart of business. What I would do is stay proactive. Make sure you have it written in the policies of your shop what is allowed and not allowed. And put time aside each month to look for your designs in other places and contact them if it’s being sold unethically without your consent. 2. Etsy certainly isn’t afraid to shut down a shop. It is in your best interest to keep raw files of your designs in case you ever do need to prove you were the first. 3. Etsy has awful customer service. They take forever to get back to you. And usually it’s a pain to deal with. I would reach out to the store itself. I have done this and “killed with kindness” by saying something like: “Hello! I noticed that you are selling my personal design that I created. While I’m flattered that you love it as much as I do, it’s not legal for you to do so. I know the term “commercial license” can be tricky to understand but in this case you are not able to purchase my design and resell them as is. You may use them as an element in design in which you add on to and then sell. Or you can absolutely create a physical product to sell. I wanted to reach out to you before reporting to Etsy so give you time to respond and remove the listing. Thank you for your quick response to the issue.” 4. I believe all you can do is reach out the store owner like the example I gave above. The BEST option is working it out between two professionals both working towards the same goal. If this doesn’t work you can report it and place a proof of your raw file with the date stamp and cross your fingers.

I have been thinking and thinking on this and I believe the only way to accomplish this would be to include an info sheet with your download that explains that it needs to be printed double sided. Then I would provide instructions on how they can do that. This would be different depending on the printer but perhaps you could include some basic instructions.

I already thought about a solution like this. The bad side is that anyone with the pdf is able to download the files. We hope that no one is going to publish your pdfs but I guess it's something that all the restricted access content creators have to deal with.

So I actually kept rewatching and rewatching your video and pausing it then doing the steps until I finally got it. So what I did was I did 1 seperate document for each size I'm offering. So 1 8x11, 1 A4, and 1A5. Each one contains all 10 different pages of the Weight loss tracking and journal pages. The only thing I wasn't sure about was how to save that document to reuse for other listings, because I did it like yours and put my shop banner on it and worded it like yours. Oh, could I have even added 3 links on that 1 document ? 1 link for each size bundle or did I have to do it the way I did and make 3 seperate ones ? I cant believe after searching and watching soooo many videos, yours was the only one that made any sense to me that I could actually follow. If it can be done, would you consider doing a video on doing multiple links on 1 document to upload to etsy, just so I can be sure. I will definitely be watching any and all your videos going forward. Thank you so much. Now I just need a family member to purchase the listing and download the files to make sure it works🤣🤣🤣🤣❤❤❤

It's ok for a non-zipped folder upload though. Hello! Zipping the file is like putting it in one of those zipped up five star binders. They won’t see a design or image but once they unzip it everything will be able to be seen. Very important to name files well so the customer can pick it out easy in their downloads.

This happens. I am not sure if it happens all of the time but it has never affected the download process. As long as she can download you should be good to go. And depending on the device she is using, she can double click then click extract files or right click and unzip etc. Hope this helps!

Yes! when you create the share link it will have a drop down for viewer, commenter and editor. I choose a shareable link for a viewer only. Then they can download and use the item but not edit it to make changes to the main file.

Thank you for this, I’m just having trouble with changing the file purchased name. It doesn’t copy the name of my file it just adds in a long link. I’m very new to technology and get overwhelmed easily. Is there something I’m missing?

hello Great video ,I do have a question if a customer downloads the zip PDF file would they require both Acrobat Reader and a zip wizard to open the file?

This will really depend on their system set up but I would think it was highly unlikely they would need either. I have only had an issue one time for far with a customer and it was for an older Ipad. For that issue we ended up having the customer download an App called unzip.

I apologize for the late response. Since you used CAPS in your comment, KZbin held it in a separate review section and I just now saw it. When you right click, see if you can see "send to"? If so, this is what you will click and then you will see the compress to zip option. Hope this helps!
