If your image is pixels (JPEG), convert it to a vector format (SVG). Then you can scale up to an image the size of a billboard if you could find a paper printer to process it! There will be no blurry pixilizations, faceted colors or ragged edges.

Great video, thanks for your insight! I actually made a script that resizes one image to all those ratios automatically and saves them as new files with the ratio in the name. I got so tired to do this with all my images hehe
@musictheory4u153 Жыл бұрын
How?
@RhodeIslandDivorce Жыл бұрын
@carnegard I did almost the same thing. I commissioned a javascript programmer to create the script for me but I didn't have it resize the photos because no javascript can properly decide the cropping the image when you go from say a 2:3 Ratio to a 4:5 Ratio. That's something that takes a human eyeball and preference for what might be clipped by the ratio difference. Just my take on it anyway. I might see if further scripting could help but I heard of someone who tried the same thing and while it did the job, the images just didn't come out the way the artist expected and consequently some customers might not be happy. Since reviews on Etsy and other forums plan a big role, I'd rather eyeball it. Perhaps AI will get into everyday scripting but we're not quite there yet.
@RhodeIslandDivorce Жыл бұрын
@@musictheory4u153 You can have someone prepare a script for you. I did... but I didn't go as far as the resizing and cropping. To me that takes a good human eye.

@@brandontimothy Could you do a video where you explain how to do Square print sizes for Etsy?
@RhodeIslandDivorce Жыл бұрын
@@gabrielamunteanu8795 Did you figure this out? It's essentially a 1:1 Ratio 4x4, 8x8, 10x10, etc.. You just either create it that way or if your art is perhaps a 2:3 ratio you have to put in in the 1:1 Ratio size you want and crop it so it displays the best part of your art. Some cropping is going to occur regardless unless you make larger artwork real small so it fits within your square borders.

Okay, you got my interest on the topic. Having been an adjunct instructor in universities and community colleges, that you stay on topic. Meaning just present all of the core information, and then back track and cover the variables. I’m guessing you’ve only worked with PS. I don’t, so I’m wondering if I could use Procreate to achieve the same quality and functionality that you do with PS. Also I doubt I could achieve or duplicate my work using PS no matter how powerful and flexible that software is. But like standards setup for businesses they’re align themselves to one specific software for ease of usage and connectivity. But this is an intriguing endeavor I would like to pursue as a passive income financial revenue resource. I will watch your other videos to see what it takes to setup the same operation you have established. You know and have all the useful information for your audience needs to learn. Just stay relaxed and don’t let that part of your brain be interrupted by what is called The Monkey Mind, because it’s what’s filtering into your presentation which is steering you on time consuming and unproductive tangents, and taking you off your primary topic. Try scripting a rough draft on the topic you’re about to discuss with bullet points you want to address as a guide to keep you from veering off course as many time as you had in this one video. One last thing. I’m not a windows PC user. How much different will this task be to accomplish?

Thanks for your tutorial and your help, but what about the bleeds, trim area and crop marks? I think preparing the canvas with these characteristics is very important. I still don't know if the bleeds have to be within the format (aspect ratio) or outside. If they are outside, should the original image be enlarged to cover the bleeds? If so, if my original image, for example: 3:4 (7200 x 9000 pixels, upscaled) when enlarging the image to cover the bleeds, I would lose print quality since I would cover those 3mm on each side of the bleed. I would really appreciate it if you could clarify this for me. Thanks in advance
