I keep seeing this popping up when I go into my Etsy store, and was really unsure about this so thank you for explaining this so I don't have to try and decode all the terms and conditions!

I'd assume that simply copying the link to the section on the browser would work. Thanks for the quick video Kara.
@KaraBuntinTutorials Жыл бұрын
It has to be from the app, it's a separate link, apparently.

I don't use the app, just a browser on my desktop, and see the special links.@@KaraBuntinTutorials

I wonder if taking part would automatically make you opt in for offsite ads. I opted out and I don't find anything about that, just that offsite adds would overrule the click on the link. As always, thanks for the information :)
@KaraBuntinTutorials Жыл бұрын
It doesn't automatically opt you in, it's separate. They just used that as an example.

Would the section link be under "manage" sections? It is on the app not sure about desktop
@KaraBuntinTutorials11 ай бұрын
Click on the section that you want to link to and It should show the link. I'm not in the Share and Save program so I don't have a screenshot of it.

So if I opt in now, because I don't have any other programs going on and no own website (yet), I can opt out later? Thanks for this video
@KaraBuntinTutorials Жыл бұрын
That’s right, you can opt out later if you decide to apply for the affiliate program

Hi Kara, I'm curious if you or anyone here might know the answer...if someone uses our share and save link, say from Pinterest, and then clicks on our shop URL within the product description, and then makes a purchase from our shop on another item, does Etsy rebate this too?
@KaraBuntinTutorials4 ай бұрын
I think so, but not if they buy from someone else's shop. I can double check that.

Is being an Awin affiliate for Etsy more "rewarding" than this scheme? I have applied to be an Etsy affiliate but have not heard back. As I drive loads of traffic to my shop, this new scheme sounds really interesting for me.
@KaraBuntinTutorials Жыл бұрын
It depends on your traffic, but yes, I think it would be if you have any decent amount of traffic. You can still link to your own listings with affiliate links, which gives you 4% back, but you can also link to other peoples' products, so there's more of a chance that someone will click over to Etsy and buy something. The good thing about the Share and Save is that it's a credit that's applied to your account right away, though, you don't have to wait for a minimum payment to build up.

I tried reading the Terms but after awhile I started having a hard time understanding the legalese… I think it was because it was putting me to sleep. Is there anything in there about having your own website? Specifically, does having our own website disqualify us from this or can we share both links? I originally just didn’t join because I didn’t see the point given that I now direct traffic to my website, but then I started thinking about that I have my Etsy shop linked on my website for past review purposes. Also, scammers are so out of control some people feel safer buying from Etsy. For example: I’m in some puzzle groups and every time a new scam pops up on Facebook everyone starts chattering about how they won’t buy from ANY Facebook ads are unknown websites.
@KaraBuntinTutorials Жыл бұрын
You can use the links if you have a website, that’s no problem at all.

Here is the thing... Any idea why Etsy felt the need to mention Off Site Ads when explaining how Share and Save program works? These are two different things (seemingly) irrelevant to each other. Seemingly, S&S links have nothing to do with OSA, yet Etsy puts this note... I find it interesting and I know that Etsy will not do anything for no reason.
@PhyllisMoon Жыл бұрын
Kara explained this in the video. It has to do with if someone clicks on a link that they didn't find on your site but through google search, and if you have OSA activated, then that will not count as S&S but as an OSA.
@KaraBuntinTutorials Жыл бұрын
I think they did that specifically because people who don’t understand the last click rule will pitch a fit if they think that any click on their links makes them immune from off site ads for a month.
@lee_banks Жыл бұрын
@@PhyllisMoon Yes, I know that and it's obvious that those 2 types of links are different. In my comment I was inviting to look behind the obvious.

4% isnt a lot , seems a lot of fuss about not much, so if you make £1000, £40 off........ only people who sell thousands will notice anything
