Its not always easy to receive correction when you've dealt with folk abusing their authority or voice in your life. When you've gone through abuse sometimes you run to the cheerleader vs the correction cause something needs to be restored. When you have a skewed view of correction, you'll run from the thing meant to bring healing. I always enjoy your podcasts and thanks for setting the record straight!

I've been learning take notes and one big takeaway was this one thing karl said that hit me was the questions we ask ourselves and it hit perfect for me. I always asked What and Why. i related that i was being in the confirmation club and as soon I got that question HOW in my head bam! 2 milimeter change in my brain process that change my life right. Take notes yall if i didn't write that down i wouldn't have caught it but because I wrote it down it got me. Only reason i started taking notes because i seen Jemal taking notes in previous episode and I said i got to do that . LETS GO! I need some correction and i'm going to get it! 1: note taking 2: questions we ask ourselves 3: confirming or correction.

I’m still watching but wanted to pause and comment on the dating advice. I think it’s good advice on paper but it implies that the ex would even want to talk to the new person. That’s a hard thing to ask someone to do. Also, if the ex is healed and mature that’s great, they’ll likely tell the truth but if that’s not the case you could get advice that leads you in the wrong direction. But I do agree that getting advice and feedback from the right person is critical for a person’s growth and getting quality feedback on another person before starting a relationship with them is a good idea is just about the right way to do that. I think people are often afraid to ask critical questions to the person they are dating and that can be problematic too

Karl went in definitely noticing the growth he can’t be scared to cut people off to get his point across. Cj went in to with the conformation over correction. I’m guilty of that for sure. Cj personality is a bully if you’re not already head strong which means zero pity for yourself you gotta be in that head space not to look for conformation but life is hard sometimes you gotta remind yourself its not easy it’s possible. Et speaks for it self.
