Phew. Just got my XRs today. Thought I was pushing them too far into my ears.

I use westone true fit tips on my etymotics, very durable, and don’t alter the sound too much.

I just got a pair of er3xr. My ears are getting moist just thinking about it. Great tip thanks dude.

Literally says in the manual that "moistening tips eases insertion" 🤣🤣🤣 I love Etymotics, they're so kinky and sound amazing. My ER4XRs are on the way this week. Picked them up at adorama for $129!!!

@@chrisstroud60 I have the ER2SE right now and love them. I'm trying to post the link but youtube keeps blocking it. adorama.com /etyer4xr.html?sdtid=14826490&emailprice=t Hopefully that works, just get rid of the space

After having ER2XR for some time, this time I notice capsules get warm when listening loud, especially when playing loud bass levels. Does that mean mine got defective and should get replacement? I tried changing eartips and filters, same thing happens. Etymotic suggested me to receive replacement.

Thanks! Instead och licking the tips someone over at Head-Fi recommended simply breathing on them. Haven't had the opportunity to try it myself though.
@dentReviews8 жыл бұрын
it works, but i find licking your finger and then rubbing it onto the tips gets them wet enough to be very easy to insert, but not so wet that they are gross. you don't want to soak them, just evenly wet them. i used to breath on them, but that only works when condensation can build up. if it's too dry it doesn't work well...

Sean DEntremont Would it have the same affect as wetting a tissue paper a wrapping the warriors in it? Also would I have to moisten them every time I wanted to use them?

The way I normally wear them comfortably with the triple tip is about the depth you insert them in this video. But the problem is I get a horrible peak around 12k. There is a dip in the response around 14k so it seems they are intended to be inserted deep enough to push the resonant peak into that area. But if I do they are so far gone that they push into the bony part of my ear canal which hurts and and when viewed from the front you can't even see the strain relief sticking out under my tragus, only the cable bending out with no strain relief.

sadly they can be uncomfortable. i got used to it mostly. but i tend to prefer shallow fit iems like moondrop kato.

do standard MMCX connectors work with etymotic er4??
@dentReviews3 жыл бұрын
technically, yes. realistically, no. the ety has a tab that keeps the connector in place. normal mmcx don't use such a tab, and as such are very loose and practically don't stay in at all.

Which between the foam tip and the triple-flanged provides the best isolation?
@mettacitta20003 жыл бұрын
They both provide isolation so it comes down to personal preference as regards comfort. Personally I find the flange type tips easier to use for extended periods. I have relatively small ear canals which suit the flange type better, but if you have large canals the foam tips work well
@Drums4Freaks3 жыл бұрын
@@mettacitta2000 I got a pair about 2 months ago. I do prefer the flanged for ease of use but find that after an hour or so, due to sweating, they tend to slide out a little bit so I constantly have to push them back in. I suppose that for extended playing when you don't need to remove them, foam would be better (at least for MY ear canal). Thanks for your comment!

The foam but they can't be inserted as deep.

Does anyone else find that the foam tips sound terrible?

Ive had foam ear tips come off way deep in my ear and will never use those types of tips again
@dentReviews3 жыл бұрын
the only time I've ever had ety tips of any kind come off in my ear is when i used them after they were worn out. but if it does happen the best thing to do if replace them right away. they shouldn't move on the stem easily. just alwsys be careful removing them.

For someone who is younger, will these still go this deep?
@tempestjay78657 жыл бұрын
josh Subet It really depends. Do you know how deep your ear canal is?

How do the new clear compare to the gray and will they fit my ERS's? Thanks
@johnyang7997 жыл бұрын
The transparent first comes woth mk5 s. It is bigger than light grey/greenish or the old white. And it is like a bigger version of the small dark grey with a even thicker flanges. Sound wise it is worse than the light grey.

I managed to get from ali express 50pcs DIY Tuning Papers 200 250 300 350 400 450 500 Mesh Tuning Cotton Pads Earphones DIY Adhesive Papers for 4 dollars. For the green filter sound, get the 350. For brighter tone, get the 300 and for a less treble get the 400. 50 filters and produce the same results. Remove the old filter and press the stickers into the noozle. Simple
