I saw Nubia mentioned in the patch notes and the diverse Nubian nations south of the mamluks seem to be cool. 2 are Coptic, one is Shia, one is Sunni - or something like that ? Also check out Kaffe, they get movement speed as their Tradition xD the mission tree also goes all in on the Coffee, nice meme there paradox xD I haven't played EU IV multiplayer, outside of co-op, but the idea of OnE nation having faster armies than any other sounds very annoying to me XD

Fun tip: when it comes to the "Contact with Europe" mission, if you have an eye toward converting to Christianity, make sure to only improve relations with a nation with a version of Christianity you want. Don't be me and wind up getting offered the chance to be Reformed.

14:55 Gonna point out a mistake here: Any time you get an event or mission that upgrades a Center of Trade, get it to level 2 before you click it. You literally missed out on a free level 3 CoT, along with the sailor boost it would have given you in addition to the statewide dev cost reduction.

I also recommend building buildings after you dev up. It costs more to add dev the more developed the province is, so add dev when your development is low to spend less monarch points and then build buildings for free dev when it costs more to dev up.

@@ferretchad I got incredible rng in my run yesterday lol. Kilwa went to war with all the nations above Mutapa and lost a ton of land. Then I pounced in and full annexed everything. It was honestly a very easy run until the Ottomans declared a coalition war with over 250k before 1600 lmao. The tech disadvantage is what kills you in the end.

In my run Kilwa DOWed me almost at start and I fully annex them with free vassal Sofala. Also you get siberian frontier at cape, so you needn't kill natives there.

I've got to say that I fought kilwa the first. Yes they had better tech but I had a discipline advisor and the discipline primary cult so beating them wasn't really hard and I full annexed them without even triggering a coalition

so far in my experience you really don't need to worry about coalitions at all until you start getting close to the Arabian peninsula

Playing this right now after seeing the video last night. I got DOW'd by Kilwa when they were tech 5 and I was tech 2. Fortunately I had been saving my points for feudalism but was still only tech 3. Through lots of micromanaging and their stupidity (calling in no allies and having very little manpower), I was able to almost 100% them by 1460. Great vids man!

I was able attack Kilwa with no allies in 1444 with a Sofala claim diet and both merc companies. Plenty of gold to pay for being over force limit, and some good generals help overcome the tech difference. Don't know how good RNG it is to be able to get a claim right away, but it was nice to knock them out immediately.

always always always make sure to increase centers of trade up to 2 before clicking missions that bring them up by one! you will save the 800 ducats since you won't have to level it up to level 3 yourself!

Great video. However i think taking 93warscore in provinces is not so beneficial as taking max money, reps and 65perc of provinces, or even humiliate them as well. So u can annex them next time with max money again. I might go for all provinces only if i have a chance to annex

I can never learn how to play this game yet I love it so much... the main reason is nobody ever explains why they do things, like "you can vassalize these countries or feed them to your subjects, it is up to you" In my head all im thinking is why on earth would you not take it and give it to someone else? If you take the provinces to you, you'll nedd to spend Adminstrative Points to make them core of your realm. If you give them to your subjects, they will need to spend this points. Soo you need to mesure what is best in which occasion. After some years you can Anex this subjects and get the provinces to you, spending Diplomatic points

When I play as Mutapa, I attack my neighbours within the first five years and full annex them, then I give plenty of mercy and full annex Kilwa. After that, I just diplo vassalize all the great lakes nations with the strong duchies edict, and once I integrate them all I do the same to the Kongolese nations (not Congo obvi). Then the only wars I need to declare are on the Horn of Africa nations, the Madagascar nations and then eventually the Central Africa and Arabia nations. I typically tend to convert to Christianity at some point when I am able to royal marriage Ethiopia and hope I get them in a PU. Then I vassalize a Centtral African nation, force convert them to Christianity, put a member of my royal family on their throne which leaves an heir with a weak claim, break vassalization and claim their throne. Do the same in India and Indonesia and you are set. Plus when the European nations arrive wars with them are easy. Get your navy to 50 heavy ships and some transports and you can basically wait them out and let the warscore tick up once you conquer the province you need.

He said building buildings in your capital gives you development. The super broken thing is, it works in every province. Spamming Workshops even in 3 dev provinces is profitable because it doubles your production. Building manufactories gives you +2 production, ON TOP OF the +1 goods produced from the building. Universities, Courthouse/Town Halls are especially broken, because they come with their own slot and still give bonus tax dev.

It's kind of funny that some years ago, EU4 in 1444 and in potential wanted to represent the world quite faithfully. By that, I mean that in 2018, France was stronger both in 1444 and in portential, to Provence. But, a good player could turn Provence into a world power. Nowadays, everytime an expansion goes out, the region that get flavour automatically gets missions, bonuses and rewards totally ridiculous that outshine the old nations... In Emperor, that was Austria. In Dharma it was Mughals. In Leviathan it was Siam. Now it's basically all African nations that gets more potential than Russia or France.. (I didn't talked about natives in recent patches that are basically stronger than european nations...

Never fails. Attack your neighbours, annex everything except the vassal you start with. With that stockpile of gold, hire all the mercs you can and declare war on sofala for the port. Kilwa won't be able to beat your entire army. You will take them all and have no threats in the area. Tech up to 4, build the market and temple in Zem and start devving it. Now you do whatever you want after restoring the capital.

slight adition to the mission that increases the GP in Zimbabwe at least in my case building it up to level 1 first didn't make the mission put it to level 3 it simply went down to "increases the level by 1" so it seems that you can't get an "easy" tier 3 GP out of the mission even if you wanted to ^^
