@cobaltcorsair592 Жыл бұрын
Unless I'm mistaken, reconquest wars make you pay bird mana to take any claims that you have, as well as costing more war score to take those claims in the peace deal. Not saying that it's always better than reconquest, but I'm pretty sure it's sometimes the better of the two under the right circumstances.
@saxtonhalegaming Жыл бұрын
@@cobaltcorsair592 Reconquest wars let you reconquer your subjects provinces without using Diplo as well as costing half. Because Hawk declared a conquest war using Byzantiums claims he had to give back Bulgarias cores at full cost and using diplo. The Knights get a ton of unique events too for such a minor nation. You can stack +50% Fort Defensiveness with two events in the mid 1500s for a 100 years, +25% each. Need Malta too. Edit: They have another mission that almost never triggers because the Ottomans needs to control Alexandria before a certain point too.

I did Knights run a few days ago to get all the achievements they have. To avoid fighting Otto at the beginning, I went full exploration and expansion, moved capital to Bermuda, build my powerbase in Caribbean, conquered Mexico and then started conquering Tunis, rest of Mamluks and then the Ottomans finally. The hardest thing on the end wasn't fighting Ottomans but fighting the Austria with Russia PU and massive France with Spain PU.

Sure, a walk through of their missions and best practices. Have found it is easy to get Morea (buy indulgences) although I tried it without allies once while they were at peace (December 1444) and had a hell of a time given my fleets were outnumbered so waiting a titch is best. Getting Malta early allows for a second province to recruit mercy while Rhodes I building ships.

The meta for playing the knights back in my day was to convert to orthodox and adopt greek culture. For one, you would get a chance of a revolt turning in your favor, and two, being orthodox means you could raid anybody in the med. No exceptions.

Key for knights game is taking Constantinopoli same time when you take Morea. As Catholic nation (stronk allies) with ability to raid, beating Ottomans are easy as they are locked in mission tree as they need Constantinopoli for that. If you can beat Ottomans as Byzantium, you can do it as Knights, if started correctly (like allying Epirus, promise some land for war againts byzantium and use them as stepping stone for Morea and then take all lands for yourself).
@natedog1433 Жыл бұрын

Red, responding your question on how Ottomans went bankrupt. From the Economy wiki: "the maximum number of loans are limited to when your total interest equals your monthly income" From the Warfare wiki: "All [occupied] province income and trade power is no longer given to the owner" Meaning, if you fully occupy a country long enough that they run out of whatever cash they had on hand (drop below 0 ducats), the country immediately goes bankrupt, even if they only had one loan.

I don't think The Knights are the absolute HARDEST start in the game. I think that honor goes to Mali. Especially since The Knights can get malta for free and can land an alliance with Venice and Aragon relatively easily. BUT, with that being said, their proximity to the Ottomans when they're at their strongest is absolutely horrid. But their ideas are fantastic for both naval and land combat especially when taking Jerusalem. As always GREAT VIDEO HAWK!

I’d recommend not to vassalize Byzantium, but truth is and as seen in Hawk’s videos is that you won’t be able to succeed unless you can ally Poland and/or Lithuania and Austria (Hungary is always a mistake they get ganged up all the time), those two alliance are key. I’d also recommend not taking orthodox autonomy because of divine ideas (people usually hate on it, but the extra manpower is basically a 20% extra of the whole country, and paired with religious and,if I remember correctly, trade, it will give you a very OP moral ( I know the meta is to stack discipline but I find it super fun to have my holy warriors kicking infidels, and doing that is how I got the “this is Persia”, “King of Jerusalem”, and “on the Rhodes again” achievements)

@LegateLynx Жыл бұрын
With the knights, I feel that you could best utilize them by conquering small polities along coastal Europe, reaching the new world and converting to a religion such as Nahuatl, Mayan, or Inti. Out of these, you’d just want to become animist and then conquer Cholula. If you manage yourself carefully you can flip to mayan, however. This would allow you to raid all of Europe every ten years through coastal access. Just ally Austria and some inland majors beforehand. Ultimately you’d want to reach India, Indonesia, Kilwa, and China to maximize on coastal raiding. I know toppling Ottomans and forming Jerusalem is canon but I prefer this.
@ARN012 Жыл бұрын
If you wanted to go further, I'd suggest to vassalize the Ottomans instead and then giave all of the cores from the Mamaluks. After 2-3 wars you will have all of Anatolia, the Holy Land and crush the Mamaluks. A true crusader state!

⚠Spoiler about the Knights⚠ . . . . . . . . . . . . If you can survive to the really hard start with the Knights, and conquer Jerusalem region own by Mameluks at start or Ottomans later. You can form the kingdom of Jerusalem(pure white flashy color on the map) 😊 Also working with Provence, Cyprus and Athens, but it's easier with a Occitan (Provence region in S-E of France) primary culture and Catholic religion. You can also start with The Knights a bit later when they're on Malta island and conquer Italians island, Creta, Tunis and Maghreb(that's easier than on Rodes island) . Hope you can make a video about [Greece] and [The Kingdom of God] with The Papal state, it wasn't easy to form these countries 😅
