Even though rome was a republic until Marcus Antonius was slandered in the Senate I would personally argue that Gaius Julius Caesar was a de facto king of Rome but not a de jure one obviously

I guess this mod is going for a "Imperator Rome in EU4" thing. This scenario removes both of Persia's rivals (Rome and Islam), so you'd expect them to be one of the most powerful countries, but they're mostly just the vanilla Ajam and Timurids, oh no. My useless idea guy commentary: I'd have made Christianity a thing but they never got big without Christ's martyrdom and later adoption by the Romans, making it localized to Syria. They'd have to use another symbol instead of the cross. From Christianity, Islam and Manichaeism came around. Islam wasn't able to capitalize on the rivalry between ERE and Sassanids and was stuck mostly in Arabia. Manichaeism, Christianity's early rival, won in this universe and spread throughout the Mediterranean, except in Persia where it was outlawed and performed poorly against the organized Zoroastrianism. Most pagans in Europe and North Africa became Manichees. Persia regained her pre-Alexander borders without Roman interference but failed to expand in Greece because of Carthaginian naval dominance. Later on the Mongols or whoever invaded, exploded as they do, and from there on Persia was fractured because having one superblob is boring. tl;dr: Levantine Abrahamic bloc, Asian Zoroastrian bloc, Manichee bloc in the rest of the Mediterranean and the steppes.

I agree with this sentiment. It seems in the lore that the Punic wars happen and then like 3 things happen in Europe for the next two millennia. You would have an insanely changed world from the era of the Punic wars, probably unrecognizable, if Carthage won, much like the world of the punic wars is unrecognizable from OTL 1444z
