This is actually better than directly controlling the land in the new world from the start as you can get many subjects to quickly core everyrhing for you whilst conquering mainly north america and perù

This is also the same mechanic that lets you play Mingstralia, had plenty of fun with that run.

That works as long as your capital stays in a colonial regions, right? So if you are going to go through a number of formables for their missions, you want to make sure and form the colonial last, because if your capital moves to old word, you re-release your colonial nations, right? Have enjoyed your videos. Thanks for the in depth explanations.
@thestudentYT
@thestudentYT Жыл бұрын
No actually that is not even the case: almost all colonial Formables have a Flag in their Code that says: "it will not be able to form any colonial nations" and this means that there won't be any colonial nations forming even if you move your capital back to Europe!

You can do it by moving capital to Galapagos(?) and not forming 13 colonies. Basically you need to have all the colonial nations except 13 colonies, then go to Galapagos, take provinces for USA. And use your trick to give all provinces to Australia. Looks like the main thing is to feed Australia all your provinces :)

Amazing finding. Congratulations. Is there any other option (region of the world) that doesn't involve Australia in order to feed all the old world? Or are you forced into this long snake around the world?
@thestudentYT
@thestudentYT Жыл бұрын
I mean I didn't use Australia at all in this run... the nation I fed the Old World to was Madyas, located in the Philippines Region but it could have been literally any OPM releasable in the Old World instead if you mean that

I'm wondering, if and how I can use this in my current game. I'm going for the Surfing USA achievement and arrived in the new world just to find it half colonized by England, Portugal and Spain, which are all allied to each other. And of course the game immediately "forced" me to rival Portugal. I have some colonies on he west coast of North America and near panama and now want to move my capital, so I can attack Colonial Nations directly without calling in their overlord. I already colonized Galapagos, but I fear that as soon as I move there, my economy will collapse. The same for when I reform my government to a Monarchy or republic, because my current tribal status with all the reforms gives pretty goo boni for trade. Also, iirc if I move my Capital to the Galapagos islands, Australia will become a Colonial nation, which may or may not be beneficiary.

Just move your capital to a colonial region in the New world and you won't have any CN in Australia, and then for the trade you can just move your trading capital to the trade node that you are currently collecting, and nothing will change

Great idea, however there are a few ways that Paradox can patch this. Requiring cored provinces, moving the borders of sea tiles, and changing the rules for what provinces can be given to colonial nations.
@thestudentYT
@thestudentYT Жыл бұрын
Yes they could do that but this is just using the basic game mechanic of the game so it is not cheasy or exploitive or something like that... just the pure game of EU4

@@achillesmichael5705 to be fair, you need australia and save up adm points along with having massive colonial nations to get the most gains out of it.

How did you get your islands in Bermuda and the Galapagos to be part of Zeelandia? Why is St. Helena the only disconnected island that stayed as Portugal? All 3 of them do not share a sea tile with any mainland provinces right?
@thestudentYT
@thestudentYT Жыл бұрын
Yes you cannot feed St. Helena to anyone because it is not connected to anything. And Bermuda is in the New World Continent of North America which means that you don't even loose it if you form a Colonial formable Nation (you only loose "Old World" Provinces) and same for Galapagos... And btw I was Zealandia my self :)

If all your old world provinces are lost and given to their original owners when you form a colonial nation to whom do your colonized islands go? What if you didnt feed lisboa? Who wouldve gotten it?

If you form a random nation after you form a post colonial nation, then also move capital back to old world, do you still not spawn colonial nations?
@thestudentYT
@thestudentYT Жыл бұрын
No if you form a colonial nation formable for example Florida (that is not an endgame Tag) and after that you form for example France, then it moves your capital to Paris but you will keep your lands in the new world directly and you cannot form any CNs anymore
