Back in the day when the water wagons were modified 15 and 20 ton Eucs, when the town had a fire they used to go into town to shuttle water for the fire department. Now they are on 240 ton chassis and can't leave the mine. Hibbing MN used to have their own 15 ton Euclid water wagon painted in blue and white Civil Defense colors.

Brings back some interesting memories. We were hauling off the top and if you didn't get it down in #1 you were dead shortly thereafter. No brakes as in years ago and straight down on both sides and no retarder or jake. They put a jake on it later on but I never got to use it. Tough old truck but I liked the 35 better with the 12-V.

In our sand pit we used an old B81 MACK mixer. fill the drum up, run it around the yard on a slo discharge until empty. fill & do again. LOL Good job on a hangover day, beats running bank run from the river to the crusher & screen wash plant. Also in either B81 or DM 800's At least on the water truck you got a 1/2 hour break while filling it.

AWESOME in 1989 I ran a jolopy just like that one!! YIKES !! Yuo would just about go deaf at the end of the day --- that was of course if the exhaust didn't choke ya first... ALSO -- love the trainer seat seen at 1:29

It's a Powershift transmission. You manually shift as your RPM's go up but there is no clutch.

Auto, probably an Allison. Driver does the shifting manually.
