When will you have your view between the eufy-e vs stick up cam/spotlight? I am stuck between either three:/

Hi I’m John from Italy I’m a big fan of your channel. I have a topic you can try that no one had done on KZbin. Here in Europe it is quite common for thieves to avoid detection in alarms (for wireless application’s) by using frequency jammers . I was wondering how this applies to the security camera world. My hypothesis is that wifi based systems would succumb to the interference and non record anything to the cloud or base station (as in the case of the Eufycam) leaving only the reolink Eco or argus to record to se this crating a safer system even though there is the risk of it being stolen. Would you be able to do a video to see which systems could better protect under this type of cyber attack. Thanks for all the great videos… love your channel. John

Hey pare! Have you tried using a Wifi mesh system? I saw a few people suggest it in your comments in previous videos- i got Samsung Smarthings Wifi - i have to say it made a world of the difference. I have Ring doorbell, Nest cam, 4 yi homes, and 2 yi 360s. They all are buttery smooth now- ring and nest viewing on app lightning quick. No black screens. Virtually no change in my ISP, but it feels like it was upgraded. I did a speedtest on my iphone, and get up to 230Mbps down/15Mbs up in the same room straight wifi. where as without the mesh system i got a max 30Mbps down/5Mbps up for some reason, regardless how far i was inside

I enjoy your reviews, but I wish you would test the cameras' sensitivity. How soon do they pick up motion in their activity zones? My eufyCam E doesn't start recording until the subject is near the center of the activity field, while my Arlo cameras will pick up motion at the very edge of of the activity zones. Big difference!
@LifeHackster4 жыл бұрын
It is all about positioning. Both cameras (Arlo and Eufy) unless you plugged in the Arlos, uses PIR motion detection..which means it will detect better and sooner if the motion is going across the cameras...
@cameraz994 жыл бұрын
@@LifeHackster -- I completely understand that. But I put my new eufyCams in the same location and direction that I used to have my Arlo cameras, and the eufyCams seem to only pick up motion near or at the center of their activity zones, whereas the Arlos detected motion all the way to the edge of their zones! Regardless of the direction the motion is coming from, the Arlos detected over a wider area. And yes, I increased the sensitivity of the eufyCams, but that didn't help.

Hey like your reviews and the detail you cover. Good job. It looks like Eufy has better night vision or low light vision than most and the audio seems to be lot better than most I've seen you and others review? I know you reviewed the Eufycam E models but I was looking at the original model with the battery backup in the base. For a wireless camera setup do you think the Eufy is the best all around setup on the market right now? I also understand the base once configured can connect via wireless to your home router which can be used to move the base for a better signal for the camera. Have you tried this?

So what happens if you plug the Reolink solar panel into the Eufy camera? A solar option would make it even better. My Argus eco is in a fairly high traffic area, but the solar panel keeps it charged nicely so far. I imagine the Eufy would need charging every 2-3 months in the same spot. Eufy’s image quality is still really nice and held its own on that license plate test with an even wider field of view. Just a life hack idea, take the Reolink solar panel and plug it into a small usb battery pack and then that into the Eufy cam. Just trying to life hack a solar panel into that camera somehow.

Sir thank you for your great, detailed reviews! Please note the Eufy E also has a wireless Base feature. You can move the Base after you originally setup the base with an ethernet cable. Just wanted to share that info as the owner may have to move the base to get a better signal to each camera location. Best wishes.
@LifeHackster5 жыл бұрын
I didn’t know that thanks for the info.
@tancam12315 жыл бұрын
So after you set up the base with the Ethernet cable, you no longer need the base to be hooked up to the ethernet cable to use and are able to move the base to different locations?
@JonathanPalmore1495 жыл бұрын
@@tancam1231 that is correct. You can disconnect the Ethernet cable after the initial setup. The only issue I recently had was that the cameras went offline for an unknown reason. I did not have a power failure. I found the solution from Eufy's/ Anker's community blog. It was: 1. Unplug the Homebase till the sound appears: “Homebase is now operating on backup battery” 2. Press the little round button at the backside of the homebase short and once. 3. The Homebase is now OFFLINE and turned off. 4. Wait some seconds and plug in the power again. Thats it. After the homebase restarted all cams were available and online again! Thanks and shout out to that poster!! Another note, the batteries will drain quickly by your trees limbs, bushes, etc moving in your target zones. The units are very sensitive. You can adjust the settings but I prefer the coverage. The units are very EASY to remove to charge. I have taken down one unit, not truly needed in a covering area, to replace a camera that needed charging. Once the unit is recharged, I place it on the spot I removed it from. I believe @LifeHackster may have covered it, that you can actually see the battery life on the app. What I like the most, you can also see the recharging level live, as it is recharging. June, I do not work for Eufy/Anker; but, shouting to all, this is the best "wireless" system that I have seen and obviously using. Also, I sent in a question to support (you have to email them) and they helped me within 24 hours. I would've liked to have spoken with someone; but, oh well, I got the help. Hope that helped. Best wishes!
@tancam12315 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the clarification. I believe you when you say this is the best wireless camera out there. I've been looking at it for some time. The only drawback I see is the enclosed, non replaceable battery. It states in its literature 300 cycles, does that mean 300 years???? Lol. I doubt that. Perhaps 3 or 4 years is the life of the camera. Either way it would be nice to simply have to purchase a new battery rather than the camera itself. On their website it looks as if they're coming out with a 180 day battery camera system. I'm hoping that one has a replaceable battery. Again, thank you!

Great video as usual. I think another thing to consider is that the Argus Eco will continue to record during a power or WiFi outage because the SD card is stored in the camera. Please do correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that cameras that store video to an SD card in a base station, such as Eufy and Arlo---or even to the cloud, such as Ring and Logitech---will not capture footage during a power or WiFi outage. Of course, the con for an on-camera SD card is that the camera can be stolen and all the footage be lost. This feature may only serve as important in areas that lose power or WiFi often or that must be evacuated during hurricanes and the like. But it may be nice to know that the Argus Eco seems to serve as an ultimate back-up camera.
@LifeHackster5 жыл бұрын
True that the Eco will continue to record when power is out..but catch 22 because if it is stolen or vandalized, you will have no footage...the arlo and the eufy will not record to the base station if power is out.

Ring Wired cameras are pretty reliable in motion detection inside and out but it doesn’t have continuous recording.
