Great review, I bought mine in December but finally getting to the install. I bypassed the switch turning the front porch light into 24/7 on power and placed a dust till dawn bulb there to turn the light off during daylight hours. This way the switch does not turn off the camera. You can also find lockouts for the switch online Then I ran wire from the porch light to the front of the house and installed the Eufy floodlight cam 2 pro there.

No, it has to be hardwired

The camera is designed to be mounted and wired to a traditional octagonal electrical box used for a floodlight. In theory, you could purchase a surface-mount box, mount it then cut the end off an extension cord and wire it inside the box. Of course, this is not ideal as someone could just unplug the camera.

Hi does the camera make very audible noises almost as if something is loose when panning and tilting? The one I got makes lots of noise when you operate the pan and tilt. Hoping this is a fluke and not standard operation?

To prevent the controlling switch from being accidentally turned off for any automated light/camera, buy a switch guard which attaches using the two screws on the cover plate. These guards exist for the traditional switch type shown but not sure about paddle-type rocker switches.

Just arrive first eufy cam here they must sell a lot of them. Easy setup to a wifi. Seem like quality product hope it lasts much longer than standard floodlight that only last year or so. Neighbors tell me odd things going on so trying to be a little more secure. Thinking maybe use clear plastic that comes in box to make a bird detterent should work pretty good. This maybe just a small start already thinking of a doorbell cam 🙂

It's compatible with the standard WPA2 which is what my network is running. They also state that the video is encrypted locally on the device if you don't opt to pay for cloud storage. Hope this helps!

Any ideas how I would install this on the corner of my house. The back of my house is not just straight across. It goes from left to right, then projects into the backyard for 12 feet and then goes left to right again. I have a flood light currently wall mounted at the end of the 12 foot deep wall. I was thinking of some sort of extension arm with a 90 turn in it so that the camera would be like an eve mounted cam. Sorry I know it's confusing, but I'm trying to describe since can't post a picture.

Eufy recommends installing this device from 2-3 meters (6-10 feet) above the ground for best detection results. My soffit is closer to 16 feet high so I'm planning on mounting under an overhang that's about 7 feet high. The wide-angle view means the camera can't be too far away for people to be recognized.

The window in your dining room or nook has some awesome trim around it and I was hoping you could let me know what the casing trim was around that window was called or product number?

I'm really not sure what's causing that. I looked through all the settings and I can't find where you can turn that on or off as soon as you go to a live view. I'd say see if there is a firmware update (Gear icon > About Device > Check for firmware update button) Mine is version 1.0.7.4

Yes. When you put eufy Security into Away mode, you can have it set off the alarm if motion is detected.

No, it doesn't have an ethernet port so it requires a Wi-Fi signal.

If eufy obliges you to connect your camera to a safety circuit breaker, that means there is a risk water enters the camera 😳 i prefer not to buy in this case, too difficult to install 😳 why not straight into an electrical outlet... Best regards

That camera is garbage. After the camera did a software upgrade the new software make the camera unusable. Lose connection, no picture. I had to but buy a different camera after I paid 300$. STAY AWAY FROM THAT COMPANY PRODUCT.

I had no issues what so ever... Most of the time a reset is all that is needed. Sounds like you had some buggy or an incomplete firmware upgrade. Camera is not garbage... most of the time its user error.
