Cool battery fix. that sound is the roller brush. The bearing cup opposite of the drive end is worn. Hot glue fixes that right away.

What he did wrong apart from the inflamable plastic tape joinng the batteries? He did used a spot welder to solder the plates. I'm asking because I'm trying to learn and I want to avoid mistakes and issues.
