The eufycam 2 pro battery life is excellent. It is advertised at 180 days of battery life. The eufycam 2 pro works as an HD security camera or 2K security camera for high resolution recording. The battery life is longer depending on how you set it up. For example, I’m at home all day so I don’t have cameras detecting motion during day, unless I go out. My 4 cameras have been in place 6 months and still have 75% battering life.

They work perfectly! With 3 of these cameras I can see every corner of the yard, and they were very easy to set up. I bought Arlo Pro 4 because I was told it was the best out there. I also hate Arlo I've had nothing but problems with them ever since I purchased them. I think the video quality is crap. At night they fog up then I get no video. I can't even read the license plate on my own car parked 15 feet from the camera during during daytime! How is this supposed to help prevent or catch someone from doing something they shouldn't? I plan to remove the Arlo and purchase this brand this weekend. Wish me luck and thank you for the review 👍

I really appreciate your overview, just wanted to point out to the viewers that at 2:08 you show an externally mounted camera using the magnetic mount. Although the Eufy cameras offer a "motion alarm", the magnetic mounts are meant for interior applications. I'd highly recommend using the threaded mounting mechanism for outside applications for those looking for the most out of their system. Thanks, and keep up the great work!

@@TechOdyssey I thought you'd like to know, i got the eufy 4 cam pack. I'm still running my Arlo Pro 2s and I've run the eufy for the last few days and in summary i'm not happy with them. I've tried them with the default out of the box setup. The audio is shocking, i can stand 4-8 feet in front of the camera and it will not capture audio, there's lots of static noise, and the video stream is "staggered". I've also mounted it side-by-side to my arlo's and they Alro picks things up that Eufy does not. I've done all the firmware updates and its still poor. Sometimes it captures motion and sometime it does not. I'm going to keep eufy going for a few more weeks to see if the AI learns but if it does not improve, then i'll be returning the unit. I'm not sure if this is a faulty unit/set of something. Anyway, thought i'd leave you my feedback.

Does the base really have to connected to the ethernet / wifi for the whole thing to work? I mean, can the base be standalone (without connected to wifi/ethernet) so that the mobile phone can just communicate with the cameras via the base?

Thankyou for the great review. I purchased eufy 2pro cameras (2) and 2pro basestation as well as 2 eufy 2 cams after watching your detailed review. What impressed was that you have had it since last August and that was big factor for purchasing. Installed about a month (20 days) back. Picture quality is crisp. However, human motion detection recording is INCONSISTENT. I am having to pull down and reboot/ reconfigure with the base station. Also the unit boasts about it working at temps as low as -20c. Sorry, we had -8c, and it didn't record. I can still see what's going on remotely but human motion isn't triggering the camera to record even though it is set for human detection along with high sensitivity to movements. I have reached out to eufy customer service in China but it's a back and forth with no real constructive solution. For me this is a disappointment.

I have 4 Eufycam Solo Pros and the batteries have failed on all of them. The age of the cams is around 2 years. The batteries seem to die and and EufyCam has told me that the batteries -ARE NOT REPLACEABLE. You should know that if you are thinking of using them for more than a year.

Purchased the wireless door bell and wireless cameras and have not been able to get them to work. We contacted the eufy help people and they all they did was send us a new unt. Still the problem wasn't corrected. Had 3 units sent and we still have the same problems. Didn't get any tech help all they said is send the item back. Talked to one individual and he told me that they work from home and they don't deal with the techs. So if you are looking for a good battery powered camera don't fall for all the good that is from reviews like this one. We bought it on this recommendation and we are looking for one that will work for us.

Sounds like it might be an operator error issue if they sent you three units then very likely there is nothing wrong with the hardware.

The help center people were the ones that said it was probably an issue with the main system and or the cameras they replaced them all 3 times. If it was as simple as an operator error why didn't someone in all the 20 phone calls let us know this. Why when we asked to speak to a tech they asked us to return the item and they would refund our purchase. You are a techie what is your response to this and don't say operator error as it was an easy setup and all instructions were followed.

10 meters = very good connection 20 meters = barely connected That's why they have sub home bases you can buy so you have one at the front area inside for front cameras and one for the back cameras Imo

What’s the motion detection range of these cameras? One of mine may be 10m from a back door & 15m from a gate & I’m not sure if I should plan to mount it closer. Surely it's not 3 months in that case, it's completely dependant on the number of triggers it gets and the length of recording you've set? I have Arlo pro 5s camera and essential cameras. I get recordings of vehicles and motion from leaves and animals with or without the activity zone set and adjusting the sensitivity levels up and down call never tells the cameras that I don’t wanna be notified of the trees blowing or vehicles passing by but they still do it. Is this the same problem with eufy cameras? Or will they not record all other motion unless you tell it to?

When they say 2k, do they mean 4k? I've never heard anyone refer to 2k... 4k = 3840 x 2160 FHD = 1920 x 1080 So following the same convention as 4k, 2.7k, 8k etc... 2k would actually just be FHD as the digit before the k is rounding up the number of horizontal pixels.

I realize that almost a year has past since you made this review, but in case you are still monitoring questions, I have one. If I don’t have a subscription to a cloud service and choose to use the hub for video storage, can I still get alerts and see videos when I am away from home? If so, how does that work?

Thank you for the video. I'm trying to get a question answered about this system, but can't find the answer on the internet. Does this system slow down the internet connection? I'm guessing it would slow it down when you are viewing the cameras, but what about during normal use? I'm wondering if it would affect internet gaming. Thanks!

It should not. It uses very little bandwidth. As long as you have a high speed connection you should have no issues at all.

@@TechOdyssey Please elaborate: Cameras are paired with baseunit's WiFi station, which has good range and thus can serve the cameras at reasonable distances? Homebase, is it connected to the router of the house for cloud services? Mobile phone and app, is it connected directly with baseunit? If you want to see the video footage when not at home, does this work only through cloud services? How do you reach homebase when you are out of home? (There are tons of solutions out there of this art, but never used one) I have always longed for an overall visual scheme how things are supposed to work. This is what technology guys are missing. My motto: "Present everyday technology has received such a level the more difficult it can not become" (Exception made with Eufycam which seems very well thought out)

is the screw on the eufy mount the same as the arlo? I have an arlo pro right now and the mount is already up..I was hoping the Eufy camera can be screwed into the arlo mount.

You can view live anytime without recording. Doing this will use the battery on the cam.

Great video--I have 2 questions, will the Eufy accommodate both an apple phone and an android. My wife has an apple phone and I have an android. #2, for the interior cameras can you turn them off when you are home so you don't run down the battery quickly? Thanks😀

You can use it with Android and apple, yes. If I'm understanding your question correctly. As far as being inside, you can't really "turn them off" but you can have them in standby mode and not recording. For 30 min, am hour, 2 hours, up to 12 hours. And you just turn off motion detection all together for longer periods of time.

Good cam, but with heavy rain weather, the image gets blurry for a day or 3, pitty do something about it anker !!
