I get you can look at Wikipedia to see recent fights but actually watching the sport would help you actually understand who the active fighters are. Despite being a champion when DDP entered the UFC in 2020 he has two more fights than DDP since 2020. DDP isn’t a super active guy which is why he probably won’t be ready for 300, just like he wasn’t ready when he had his first chance to fight Izzy.

Whatever UFC 300 main event is, it will be a title fight. There are already title fights on the card and no regular fights have ever been ahead of title fights. Strickland just lost, didn’t have a single title defense, and lucked into a title shot he didn’t deserve after beating two unranked fighters, and only one of them was even at MW.
