It's very interesting to see the differences between Ash in season one and two. In season one he is just a smart kid. In season two however you can see the influence this whole drug dealing stuff had on him growing up: he got violent and he almost didn't have any lines for the whole season. This is what his surroundings did to him. He turned from a child full of life into an agressive, extrovert killer, who still has good intentions but is full of violence and rage.

Before that, he seemed to be relaxed & doing what he does best. - I completely agree. Edit: Also I think they cut his lines because he was older so he sounds different. Maybe even for the emotional factor in the finale. Angus said Ashtray had more lines but they were cut.
