Not a lot of teenagers have seen breaking bad you guys have to watch that too that is one of the best tv shows ever created and also the wire, the sopranos and maybe mad men but mad men can get hella boring but definitely breaking bad has some of the best character development I’ve seen in a show. It won best drama series almost every year when it was out (always beat got), it has won 16 Emmys and has been nominate for 58 and has won another 136 wins and another 268 nominations and is the 3rd highest rated show on imbd which is the most respected reviewing program and it’s up against planet earth and planet earth ll and if you don’t think you like the first season just push through it because I’ve heard some people don’t like it (I loved it) and it’s a shorter season and then during season 2 except for a couple of episodes it’s pretty casual at the start but episode 8 of season 2 you will be on the edge of your seat it gets that good then continues to be good till the very last episode and the show has one of the best endings ever and if you look up “best shows of all time” it will always be in the top 5 and if that doesn’t get you to watch it then I tried my best but I would recommend everybody to give it ago. There was literally an ending to an episode I had to literally pause it and literally go for a walk around my house to process the crazy shit that happened. Trust me you will not regret it one but I promise you.

That scene isn’t originally from Skam tho, they did it in that show as an homage to the scene in the Romeo + Juliet Baz Luhrman movie that Even mentions is his favorite at the beginning of the season and Isak later watches, there’s actually a lot of references to that movie in that season of Skam, the church in the O Hellga Natt scene being another one and the music they sometimes use is straight out of the soundtrack of the movie, it’s pretty cool. In Euphoria Jules is dressed up as Juliet in that same movie, and I actually don’t remember if Rue is supposed to be dressed as Romeo, but they probably did it as a tribute too.

Being a fan of the previous generation’s work, Judd Apatow, I was well aware of a new show that his daughter, Maude Apatow, was going to have a small role in a show called “Euphoria”. Zendaya was also fresh in my mind from having seen her in Tom Holland’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (2017), but had most recently been following new actress Alexa Demie from her amazing work in two films I’ve already added to the Gem Mint 10.0 series; “Mid90s” (2018) and “Brigsby Bear” (2017) and was very excited to see the new show she was promoting. From the god d*** first frame it blew me away! It was the first slice of work I’d seen by the great Barry Levinson’s son, Sam Levinson, whose created his own visual aesthetic in cinema that has yet to be matched. He truly is a visionary and making the most dramatic the most cinematic in ways that not only look incredible but help tell the story and get inside the minds of characters in ways maybe cinema wasn’t doing as much before. Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Angus Cloud, Algee Smith and Storm Reid were all massive favorites, but were all new faces for me! Sydney Sweeney has gone on to star in a few things I saw after discovering “Euphoria” like Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood” (2019). I love how unafraid of being honest this show is. I’ve never felt something so raw before, especially on a mainstream level like HBO is and the way this show has blown up. It’s the hard truth about what some people are actually or have gone through, I think as difficult as a pill as it may be to swallow at times, it could be the most important show of our time. This is the world we live in now and I don’t think anything’s been more up front and honest about it than “Euphoria” (2019) has. After obsessing over the entire first season, I devoured the rest of the cast and crews work as best I could before we had our, 2 episode long, 1.5 season that teases the lead up to the upcoming Season 2, which I cannot wait for. Since the last episode of Season 1 premiered, seeing more of Sam Levinson’s work was an absolute must! From “Assassination Nation” (2018) to “Malcolm & Marie” (2021), he’s grown to be one of my most favorite filmmakers of all time! This whole cast, Sam Levinson and the team behind the camera, have come up with something so beautiful, poetic, honest and real that will stick in my head and heart for years to come! Massive props to original artist Labrinth for creating some of the most outstanding music I’ve ever heard! One of the most memorable aspects of this already groundbreaking show! Cannot wait for Season 2!
