The factory gas system will not be adjustable but i am sure there will be a after market one. If so with a long screw driver you can adjust it without taken the handguard off. 308 is most likely going to be mid next year as we need to do a fair bit of a redesign.

Let's agree to disagree. When you have knowledge of what happens in the background, then things sometimes look different.
@bpgsontz1072Ай бұрын
I dunno, generally from what I have seen, if the rifle feeds and ejects reliably, doesn't show consistent reliability issues in general, shows acceptable levels of wear after some use, and shoots reasonably accurately depending on the platform, he seems to show credit where credit is due. How much something is worth is all a different perspective for each potential buyer. Frankly, if the rifle ticks all those boxes, I won't care so much about the cost being in the price bracket it is listed. If you are saying his results are rigged, i don't know what he could hope to accomplish by giving a rifle a bad rep, unless you are suggesting that his opinion is being paid for by the competition, which is a pretty wild claim without evidence.
@AustralianSportingAgenciesАй бұрын
Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely not saying there is foul play. We, as a company, have been negatively impacted by his reviews and believe that these specific reviews have not been conducted in the right manner. This is more around the procedure and processes of tests than his opinions. So, learning from the previous experience, we would rather not see him review our products as long as the processes have not improved and become more scientific, but that's certainly not up to us. I personally have not seen his reviews for many years, so maybe they have gotten better from a reviewing process perspective, I can't comment on that. He certainly has a great loyal following and a place in the industry. We do wish him all the best as the more people get behind the industry, the better, even if we disagree with some participants on occasion. Hope that makes sense. Bastian

Phenomenal work gentlemen. The perfect gun for target shooting, IPSC, and the zombie apocalypse. I can't wait to get my hands on one. I'm planning to buy the .223 version and getting a conversion kit to swap it to a 9mm a year or so later. Do you have a price for the conversion kits yet and is it something that can be done on my workbench at home or will it require a gunsmith to convert?
@AustralianSportingAgenciesАй бұрын
We don't have the final price on the 9mm parts yet. Hence, we can't cost it just yet. You will be able to do the conversion within 2 minutes or less yourself. You can also get the whole upper group, then it's just 3 screws....piece of piss

@@AustralianSportingAgencies what do the engineers think about an asymmetrical load and long term wear on the bolt carrier/receiver by only having a spring on one side?
@AustralianSportingAgenciesАй бұрын
We don't think it will make a measurable difference. You can always swap the sides around if you are concerned, but you will most likely find that you won't be able to tell a difference
@mickyabroad3818Ай бұрын
How much of the firearm is made in Australia ?
@AustralianSportingAgenciesАй бұрын
All the important parts, upper, lower, bolt carrier, springs. Barrel is US, Butt Stock Turkey. The main reason is that there is no supplier in the country or it is absolutely price prohibitive, and supply can't be guaranteed.
@mickyabroad3818Ай бұрын
Impressive, good job. I’m curious, can more material be removed from the upper and lower hypothetically? (If the build budget was a blank check scenario). Would forging the receivers be considered in the future ?
@AustralianSportingAgenciesАй бұрын
Yes you can take out material and you can make them look kick ass, the reason we don't do it is that it will increase tool time, meaning we can make less units in the same time, driving up the price. Oceania etc have their price point because of that extra tool work that goes into them. So yes, if you have the budget and someone who knows what they are doing....you can go kick ass on the receivers.
@AustralianSportingAgenciesАй бұрын
The receiver is made from a solid block. If you want to inject mould it, it will not be as sturdy, and you would likely have to design it differently. Also, to pay for a mould, you would need vast quantities to find a break-even point. I'm not saying it's not possible. I'm just saying that we have chosen a different route for now.

I think .308 is next closely followed by 6.5 creed. The rest will come later.
@davidsmith9189Ай бұрын
@@AustralianSportingAgencies How can you fit that in this interchangeable platform?
@AustralianSportingAgenciesАй бұрын
You can't. The 308 and 6.5 would be their own platform. The issue we have at this point is volume. You need a demand of 1000 or somewhere around there to rectify the design of a calibre. If we believe we could sell 1000x units of let's say 10mm, we will build it, but chances are very low unless we miss the market here?

Hopefully I don't get pounded in the comments for this, and it might be a stupid question, but why could we not manufacture the parts ourselves in Australia? Is it Labor costing? Or what? I was more tending towards Australian made, and boosting our own manufacturing. Assuming that Lithgow from my understanding (If I am wrong, please tell me) manufactures everything for their firearms? Or do they also import select parts as well?
@AustralianSportingAgenciesАй бұрын
Cheers, mate, for the question. I'll give you a few examples when it comes to manufacturing in Oz: we can buy pretty much any part made in China at the same price we pay for just the raw material here. Another one is that if you are running low volume which we are ( in the couple thousands....not 50k units) paying for moulds that cost 10-20k usd each for each part before you pay for the part, is not profitable or our guns would cost a lot more. I believe Lithgow can do it as they produce for the military and they are part of a giant defence contractor, so naturally the commercial production would just be the creme on top and doesn't need to cover the costs of the machines. That said, I can not say that I do know their business, so plz don't quote me. So in short, there is no advantage in making products that already exist overseas here unless there is an import challenge or you want to ensure you have full control over the quality. The later part is the reason eureka gun co makes the crucial parts here. Hope that helps?
@MatthewFay-x1xАй бұрын
@@AustralianSportingAgencies Thats an awesome response. Thank you. It makes complete sense, wish I had enough dosh to invest, I'd buy all the bloody machines for you guys! I just really like Australians manufacturing stuff, and Aussies making our own guns is super cool.
