Thanks, Leah, for making this video--I'll watch this and bead along until this bugger finally makes sense to me! I have previously made a tube of CRAW using 6/0 beads, but I just bumbled through it hoping I was stitching it properly--now, with help from you and your descriptions of the little boxes (clock face, walls and floors, etc.) I think it's beginning to make more sense. It's time now, for me, to go grab a few of my firepolish beads and give this baby another try!

Over the past three or four months I have watched several videos in order to learn CRAW. For every video it has become more clear to me how this stitch is constructed. It is hard since my spatial vision is lacking. Today, watching your video, the penny suddenly dropped. The clock way of thinking was really helpful! Thank you so much! Too bad I didn't have any FP beads at hand, tried with some round ones and despite that being very floppy I managed to see (and understand) what I was doing. I'm so happy, been wanting to master Craw for a long time and it was actually a goal for this year to do so :-) Now, I finally got it! Again, thank you!! A very happy Eva.

Haha, I was wondering what you meant until I got thru a bit more of the video. This is exactly what I needed to see for a refresher cuz I haven’t picked up beadwork in awhile. I kept having to go one way around the unit and then the other way. This fixed that! Just up, out, and over to the left for my tension circle. :)

Great to add the new analogy of the clock face. It causes one to focus on one side of the box at a time instead of the whole box at once. Houses (ceiling, floor and walls) cause me to try to construct the whole house at once. Clocks are flat, therefore, only one face at a time. 😁👌🏻

Hi..what are you using as your bead mat?
@EurekaCrystalBeads
@EurekaCrystalBeads 4 жыл бұрын
We have a special one custom made for filming! However for day to day beading we recommend the Beadsmith 11X14 inch beadmats: www.eurekacrystalbeads.com/beadsmith-11x14-inch-bead-mat-3-pcs/ It comes with three pieces in slightly different colors to contrast with the beads you are using and you can frame it in a regular picture frame to make your own bead board! What is the number of the fireline that is used with no 10 needle? Thank you.
@EurekaCrystalBeads
@EurekaCrystalBeads 4 жыл бұрын
The pound weight of FireLine that one should use is less about the size of the needle, and more about the project/stitch/technique that's being created. I use 6 lb FireLine for almost all of my projects - and sometimes these projects use a size 10 needle, a size 12 needle, or even a size 13 needle. Generally speaking, 6 lb is usually your best bet and the most versatile of weights to use with any needle - including a size 10. Happy Beading!

Absolutely Caroline!!! It looks amazing with seed beads...very flexible and supple!! Until you're more comfortable with the stitch, it can be much trickier with seed beads though, because they don't always like to sit as perfectly straight as something like firepolish. :-) But yes,100% yes
