Well the first thing the English need to do is realize their team just isn't as good as they think they are. They think they're up there with Germany, Spain, Italy, Argentina, France etc... and they really aren't. They're not even on the tier below that. That's where Portugal, Poland, Wales, Belgium, Chile and the Netherlands are (even though both Portugal and Chile won this summer). It's easy - make their wages proportional to results. So - Wayne Rooney is on £300 000 per week.
