Seems bizarre that the AEB applies the brake and then releases it, causing a collision.

The opel corsa has it too. I assume they use the same platform. The car is out for a while now why won't they fix it with the new c4

This is a good example of how every car manufacturer can follow, at least 4 star safety rating is good.

Not long ago all cars were five stars. Euroncap invented something so that not all cars are five stars.

But someone could think a 2004 car with 5 stars is safer than this 4 star 2021 car. And that's false. They should adjust the old results from time to time.

It's all about the assists such as auto braking, pedestrian detecting and such. Even though it does great on a crash test, the way that the assists behave/or even lack of them for some cars will ruin the rating significantly

its dissapointing that citroen has AEB as standard while other car brands only offer cars with no safety features for the same price?... interesting ... can you point out another 21000€ car that has all of these features?

I personally think side curtain airbags should have deployed in front on collision but tbh I think you'd still be alright.

Adult occupant protection is only 76% in 2021 C4 but 95% in 2019 Golf. Are these same criteria, or Citroen is rated against more strict Euro NCAP rules?

Side mobile barrier test - if it hits rear wheel, then this test do not show actual car body strength as rear axle takes a lot of crash energy, not car side. You should aim that barrier between axles.

Certainly disappointing results from Citroen. AEB needs improvement and Citroen for some reason refuses to fit a centre airbag

It's not about airbags or AEB improvements. With standard options they don't offer full AEB functions like pedestrian or cyclists detection, you have to pay more money for full functions. Anyway it's stupid to even consider this system in impact tests and in most cases they do worst than good.

@@stevey2281 well you need to look at the price ... if you look at the fully speced car with all the features the car costs 26000€... with a VW for example it comes bone stock without any radars or cameras for 24000€... if you compare the car you also need to compare the price since this car offers standard safety features as standard while most other brands dont

@@gabut_kzz 76% adult occupant potection, when even older cars tested in th new standard get up to 20% more. Front passenger get his leg amputated. Driver's leg only "marginally" protected. Also "(movement of the occupant to theopposite side of the car) was mitigated was rated as [poor] [weak], and no counter-measure is fitted to prevent occupant to occupantinjuries in side impacts. " which is standard now even with lower clas cars (like Yaris, for example, which has its own problems).

A typical problem of almost all French cars - in the event of a partial front impact, they cannot activate the side and window airbags. Even some chine cars can do it :-)

en fazla kazalar bu hız aralıklarında şehir içi kalabalık alanlarda oluyor.. otobanda insansız kontrollü ortamda hızlı gitsen de daha kontrollü ve güvenli bir ortam var nispeten daha az kaza yaşanıyor diyebiliriz. Ek olarak yüksek hızda da zaten 120-130 km hızda acil durumda fren yaptığında durmasan bile 50-60 km hıza inerek kaza zarar riskini sıfıra indirme şansın oluyor

Cheap all plastic econobox . They are very confortable and get good fuel consumption, but are very unsafe, guaranteed to get neck injury with even the smallest crush . And that test is made at just 50 km/ h. They cost the same as a japonese, german or korean car, but are waayyy behind in safety standards
